View Full Details of Haddington Care HomeMum couldn't have been better cared for and looked after than she has been at Haddington Care Home. The staff are all excellent and very caring; the home is beautifully furnished and laid out and is clean, spacious and light. The menus and food are lovely and there are lots of activities for the residents. I never would have believed that Mum would settle in a care home but have been proved completely wrong! Thanks all.
From the moment we were given a guided tour of the home by the deputy manager, we knew that Mum would be given the best of care. Mum's needs are more than being met and the staff are truly wonderful. There are lots of activities, including singers, dancers, boat trips and days out in surrounding towns. Overall, we are extremely happy and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Haddington Care Home to anyone wishing to place a family member in care.
Excellent in all areas. Staff friendly and professional from management, clerical, nursing staff, carers, support staff etc. Mum really enjoyed all the activities and said the meals were all lovely. The home was very clean and spacious. Beautifully furnished throughout from the reception, residents areas, dining rooms and their bedroom. Everything was perfect in Mum's room and the view, spectacular. I was completely confident from the outset that Mum would be in the best of hands and would highly recommend Haddington Care Home. The whole team were amazing and I am so grateful.
Pre-admission induction was extremely detailed and comprehensive. Facilities, support and hands-on staff are excellent. Residents are treated with dignity and in a friendly, considerate manner. Social interaction and outside activity are excellent and well-supervised.
Haddington Care Home has provided a safe and friendly environment for my Mum who has mixed dementia. She has settled in very quickly spending most of her day in the communal area or taking part in activities. This has given her the interaction we were unable to give her at home and she has already made new friends. The staff are very compassionate and treat her with respect and dignity, and I have confidence that she is being well cared for. The building is very clean and airy and maintained to a high standard. The rooms are very spacious and always clean and tidy. We were apprehensive about moving Mum into care, but everyone at Haddington Care Home have gone over and above to help with the transition.
I found Haddington Care Home exceptionally friendly, competent and comfortable for my wife who has been a resident since November 2023. The staff were very eager to help and there was an atmosphere in the home which verified this from management down. The carers and nurses couldn’t have been kinder and the cleanliness of the home was obvious from the reception area throughout. I would commend this care home without reservation.
A home with a family atmosphere with very caring and professional staff. Life is never dull and so much fun. The rooms are large, bright and clean and all areas are easily accessed by residents to allow independence. Thank you to everyone for looking after my mum so well.
My mother's individual needs are very well catered for. I feel the home knows and understands her. She is always clean and well-fed, and she is happy to engage with all staff and residents. I marked down the room as it's a bit small with little room for visitor chairs. The wardrobe feels very small, so we had to buy a larger one ourselves. A lovely, happy place my mother now calls home.
My husband, with severe vascular dementia, settled very well for a week's respite. The facilities were excellent, and the staff was caring and respectful of his needs. There were plenty of activities, and he joined in everything. The bedroom accommodating was very clean and spacious. The staff also showed great concern for my well-being. I was very impressed with Haddington Care Home, and my husband was happy there.
I would highly recommend Haddington Care Home the care is second to none, the staff and management are so helpful the home is so welcoming and spotlessly clean. The food choices are great and the chef and her team will accommodate all needs.
We are always made to feel very welcome when we come to visit mum in the home. My son loves to come and visit his granny and enjoys juice and a treat in the lounge. The staff are all very caring, friendly and attentive to the residents. The home is very clean, and the residents are well looked after. There is a nice outdoor space that the residents can use and a lovely park nearby.
Amazing helpful staff. The lunches and dinners are well-prepared nutritional meals and birthday celebrations are made special. The residents are always being taken on trips out to different places and they do really enjoy it. Well done Haddington Care Home Staff.
My wife was admitted to Haddington Care Home initially for a month's respite care (she suffers from Parkinson's related dementia). We were warmly welcomed by the manager and her dedicated nurse. Her room is well equipped and the lounge/dining area is of a very high standard.
What a lovely, well-run and friendly place. The care team have helped my relative to settle in smoothly and he says everyone is kind and the food is pretty good. I feel the staff are warm and attentive. They are continually checking that everyone's OK: Would you like a juice? Do you want a cuppa? And the place itself is spotless. It's a relief to have an enjoyable visit and leave knowing that my loved one is happy and cared for properly.
I think the world of Haddington Care Home and the way they have taken care of my husband and kept him clean and healthy. I think the staff have made a big difference to my husband.
My mum is settling really well. Such a difference in her mobility and making friends. The environment is beautiful and staff so thoughtful. I feel that she is being really well cared for. Thank you very much!
My aunt moved into Haddington Care Home in February 2021. She was made very welcome and I was so relieved to see the attention and individual care given to someone moving in. Due to Covid, I have not had freedom to move about the home. We are all tested beforehand and must adhere to guidelines however I can see that the home is spotless. The lounge and dining room on my aunt's floor is bright and cheerful and her room cosy and bright. We are encouraged to bring in personal items for their rooms to help them feel at home. The staff from reception are friendly and efficient, happy to carry out Covid tests, pass on messages and put through phone calls. The Team Leader and all the staff are attentive ensuring my aunt is helped with showering, encouraged to come along to the lounge and join in with the other residents. The team leader and senior staff spend time with relatives visiting too. My aunt has dementia and I am very happy with the care and attention provided for her wellbeing.
It's a great comfort to know that Mum is in good hands at Haddington Care Home. The staff are clearly well trained and experienced. They are empathetic towards both Mum and me and I know that when I leave her in the home she will be well looked after. The home is clean, bright and airy with a simple layout which is ideal for dementia care. The river walk next to the home offers a lovely walk when I visit mum and she gets to see birdlife, plants and flowers which are all the things she most loves. Thank you to the care home staff for all that you do. It's appreciated.
The care home is a nice new building and kept in good repair. Internally it has a nice warm feel with nice decor. It is kept immaculately clean. Rooms are of a good standard. Staff are very accommodating and responsive to any requests. Covid rules are very well organised and I have faith in these. Zoom calling works very well and is a source of comfort when I cannot visit every day.
My mother has been a resident at Haddington Care Home for 2 years or more. The support given has been excellent. She is happy and content - which gives me a great deal of comfort. I rate the experience so highly that I encouraged another elderly relative to move there at the beginning of this year. An important factor is their ability to retain staff. While they have kept a core of staff it is evident that it was difficult to attract new staff. It is so important that the government improve their provision to allow staff connections to be improved.
