View Full Details of Harlow HallWhen my uncle needed full-time care, I felt guilty as I toured various homes, finding many unwelcoming. Initially, I dismissed Harlow Hall, thinking it was beyond our budget. However, I was pleasantly surprised by its affordability. Visiting the home, I found it exceeded my expectations, resembling a five-star hotel with 24-hour care. The admissions process was seamless and respectful, easing my concerns. Now, five weeks into his stay, my uncle is happily settling in, enjoying activities and companionship. Each visit feels like stepping into a warm, welcoming home. I wholeheartedly recommend Harlow Hall for anyone seeking residential or dementia care for a loved one. It truly embodies care and compassion.
I have just had my first experience of respite care and I found the home to be spacious, very comfortable and the staff warm and friendly. I am looking forward to my further stays in February and May.
Mum never wanted to go into a home, but within 2 days at being in Harlow Hall she loved it and didn't want to leave. She calls it a hotel with all the staff amazingly kind and helpful. The amenities are great, cinema room, cafe/bar, salon and garden everything she could wish for. My family and I now feel she is safe and looked after which is all we ask for.
My dad is still quite new to Harlow Hall but seems to be settling in, all staff have been very welcoming and very friendly and always very polite. They have helped Dad to find friendship and the support and company that he was desperately looking for. The meals are plentiful and beautifully made with snacks if wanted the home is warm and homely with plenty of space to wander around and Dad is now enjoying taking part in the many activities offered daily which is lovely to see. I have visited at different times of the day and have always seen staff sitting with residents chatting and supporting.
My mum and dad moved into Harlow Hall from hospital in mid November and absolutely loved it there. The facilities are excellent, it's like a 5 star hotel. Mum and dad love the food and enjoy joining in with all the different activities that are put on. The staff are so lovely they can't do enough for them, nothing is to much trouble. It's a pleasure visiting them and I always leave Harlow Hall with a smile on my face knowing that they are well looked after, safe and happy.
Mum moved to Harlow Hall four weeks ago and has settled in very quickly. The staff are helpful and kind and the home is modern, spacious and very well designed. The food is excellent and there is a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with lots going on. The large carpark and flexible visiting times make it easy for mum's family and friends to visit. Mum is very happy at Harlow Hall.
My cousin was discharged from hospital into Harlow Hall and the transition was handled very quickly and efficiently by the manager with very little input from us. All of the staff are very pleasant and helpful and have helped my cousin settle in very quickly, even if he is a little confused as to where he is. It's great to have the peace of mind knowing that he is safe and being well looked after in a nice light, airy and modern friendly environment. I hope that he will soon have the confidence to join in with the many activities organised for the residents.
The move into Harlow Hall went very well. My partner seems settled and happy. The manager and all the staff are very nice and helpful. I do feel the laundering could do with a bit more care. Harlow Hall is a very nice environment, very bright and cheerful.
My father has been here since mid September and I can't tell you how happy we are. We know he's safe and well looked after. The staff care about the residents and are very helpful and know the residents really well. They have activities every day and the food always looks delicious. For me, the best bit of writing this review is that my dad has told me that he finds everyone very nice and says the food is lovely and we know he is safe and well looked after. The facilities and decor are very modern, as they opened a year ago, and this is great for the residents - it's light and airy. Rooms are very well furnished, with fridge, wet room, bed is bigger than a single and apparently comfy, I'm told by my dad. The building is kept clean and always smells nice.
Auntie is very happy, she is the oldest resident and is treated with care and respect.
My mother is extremely happy at Harlow Hall. It has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are always things going on. Today was a summer fun day. Lots of people visiting and staff staying after shift finished. Bouncy castle for children, a singer and barbeque. A lovely day all around.
Cannot praise Harlow Hall enough for making my friends transition into the home for a day a week so easy and comforting. The lady showed my mother-in-law and myself around, what a great home, clean and comfortable full of amenities, even a film room. My friend has settled well, this is down to the kind and pleasant staff. They are very caring and professional. He has got to know his surroundings and the staff now and goes to the home every week without an issue. This was a great concern for us as he never does anything without his wife. This has been a great respite for his wife and has made it easier to cope the rest of the week with him, he has Alzheimer's and forgets who she is and how to process things. Again I cannot praise Harlow Hall enough for their care and the welcome they gave to him.
Very happy here, nothing more to say.
My mother initially stayed for one month's respite and settled in well to the home. She was welcomed and we felt comfortable leaving her for the first time. She became a full-time resident the following month. We have been concerned about staffing levels at times and cleaning of the resident's bedroom/en suite bathrooms and laundering of clothes is poor. Despite names on clothing, my mother is often in other residents' clothing and vice versa. Clothing is often creased and un-ironed. This upsets us as a family as my mother took great pride in her appearance and we know she would be upset. Food is on the whole excellent when the full-time chef is working. The activities member of staff is excellent and obviously cares for the wellbeing of all the residents depending on their abilities in a very professional manner. She often takes time to paint my mother's nails which I know Mum loves. Care overall is satisfactory.
Beautiful home, with very friendly staff, very welcoming environment and great facilities. Everywhere is kept to a very high standard and my husband enjoyed his first visit there telling me how good the food was. Overall excellent.
My nan became a permanent resident of Harlow Hall in November 2023. When she arrived, she was the 8th resident. Harlow Hall, in terms of facilities and compared with care homes in the immediate area is ahead by miles. The cinema, sky bar and multiple-use spaces are impressive and well-utilised. After some adjustment, my nan is thriving, she is well, healthy, relaxed and happy. She values her large clean room and to date still talks about the fact that she has her own en suite bathroom. The manager, deputy and reception manager are approachable, friendly and more importantly, they know what they are doing! They proactively seek support for Nan as and when she needs it. The newly appointed activities coordinator has begun to secure regular activities and entertainment, which is enjoyed by all. It will be good to see Harlow Hall offer their residents trips out, and I appreciate that this may come into fruition as more residents arrive.
Food is not usually a good mixture. It's not always hot when it's supposed to be, and there aren't usually many choices. The carers are sometimes left to serve the food. The entrance and exit are rarely staffed, and visitors have to find a member of staff to let them out or wait for them to answer the door to get access.
Most grateful for everything. Thank you.
Harlow Hall was brand new when Mum stayed, it's hard to review it at such an early stage, however, I can make the following observations: It's beautiful inside, the bedroom had never been stayed in, and as such there were some key items not set up and ready for her arrival, but these were swiftly sorted. The staff I met were great, special shout out to one staff member who's fab at his job and my mum is particularly difficult! I don't think there were many activities going on, due to it being so new and I think only 7 or so residents were there when she stayed, so not many staff were needed. I'd like to come back once it's really underway as the facilities have the potential to be amazing. My mum was in respite there for 2 weeks, I did get asked when I would visit her which I hadn't planned on doing as it was also my respite, they let her call me, this was a bit stressful because she just wanted me to come and get her, so some better distraction techniques would be great. That all said, I'd definitely come back!
Absolutely brilliant service - I don't have to worry about my mum anymore which is lovely. It's a pleasure to visit as well, very hard-working and friendly team. Everything is so clean, looks and smells great. Thank you all.
