View Full Details of Harmonia VillageThe team at Harmonia are quite simply amazing. My father had very severe dementia but remained physically quite strong and we were unable to find any care homes that could meet his needs and keep him safe despite trying several that apparently specialised in dementia care and challenging behaviour. Dad eventually ended up in hospital and was discharged to Harmonia in February 2024 - the team there quite simply saved dad and us, his family. Dad was able to move around the home and garden as he pleased but with sympathetic supervision so that he didn't feel restricted. They keep residents entertained with appropriate activities including gardening- we still have a plant that dad grew from seed. He loved the delicious home made food! Harmonia's team gave him the most wonderful, genuinely loving care right through until his final, peaceful days in Jan 2025. We cannot thank them enough for the love and care that they provided dad and support for us as a family through a really awful time.
I consider myself lucky to have my Mum staying at the home under such wonderful caring staff. All patients here have extra needs and complexities, but I have been consistently impressed by the genuine caring nature and patience of the staff, I feel a sense of commitment and joy in what they are doing. The home is well led and genuinely has an ethos of wanting to serve their residents well. I work as a GP locally, and have been to many residential and nursing homes across Kent. I can honestly say this is an excellent place. There is also lots of tech - cameras and sensors in the bed to also monitor your loved one. The entertainment programme is dynamic and varied, the staff (carers and nurses) really know the residents well. The care is the most important thing, but so is the beautiful setting as well. I love the European model of the dementia village where people have their own apartment in a real house, but the security and company of the hub - this place is truly legendary!
My Father is so happy here. The carers are just wonderful and look after him so well. For my Dad it is like home from home. It is a beautiful caring home with a pocketful of love. The food is delicious too, so compliments to the chef.
I cannot praise this place enough. My husband was placed here for respite. A member of staff came to our home after working a shift in her own time to rush through the assessment, she made notes and listened in detail to everything I said concerning my husband's level of needs. This was then relayed to all members of staff. I dropped my husband off the next day, and was greeted by this particular member of staff and her team with a very warm welcome and straight away I thought this placement could actually work! Prior to this, my husband has been to two other homes for respite and both of them struggled to meet his needs mainly due to the fact he is very mobile, but this was not an issue here, the care and compassion the staff showed him was unbelievable and nothing seemed to be a huge problem and they just dealt with any issues which occurred. His needs are high level but that was matched with an even higher level of care. Thank you to all the staff at Harmonia, fantastic work you all do, what a team. Top-level care all around.
