View Full Details of Knockagh RiseDaytime carers are very good. Unfortunately, as my mum now goes to bed so early I can honestly say I don't know anything about the night staff. My main concern is regarding the lack of staff at certain times. I fully appreciate staff need a break but find when they are on lunch/tea breaks residents often need the toilet and have to wait for quite a long time before they are taken! Staff tell residents they have just been to the toilet but I have experienced residents waiting more than 40 minutes before being taken! I think when staff go on lunch there should be more staff on floors!
When I knew Mum needed nursing care, I visited many nursing homes in the area. None of them came up to my expectations. Our choir sang last Christmas at Knockagh Rise Nursing Home and from the moment I entered the home I got a warm feeling of homeliness. The people and staff are welcoming, friendly and cheerful. All staff are helpful and kind to Mum. The nursing home has a bright, cheerful atmosphere, and exceptionally clean. The rooms are tastefully furnished and Mum's visitors remark on the overall wonderful care she is receiving. The nursing home gets an "A" star from my family. My mum is now more happier and content and enjoys her new family.
My mother has been in this home for almost one year following a stroke, meaning she was no longer able to live independently in her own home. She is treated with care and dignity by all the staff even though her health has deteriorated and she has become confused. I am happy for her to be in this home knowing she is safe and well cared for.
My mother has been cared for with a combination of great kindness and medical competence. Staff attend to her personal needs speedily and with fondness, medical issues are monitored, and her room is kept clean and fresh on a daily basis. The food is tasty and nutritious, while her clothes are smartly laundered and returned to her room. A range of enjoyable events has taken place over the time my mum has been resident, including days out, birthday celebrations and musical interludes. I have benefited from the guidance given to me from the Manager on my mother's welfare and receive updates, formal and informal, from both day and night staff on how mum is faring on a daily basis. I value the care and kind support given to Mum in this comfortable, modern nursing home.
