View Full Details of Langham CourtMy husband has been a resident at Langham Court since May 2024. I believe that he could not be in a better place to be cared for. My husband and I are made to feel part of a loving family and we are both given exceptional care and support. All the staff from the manager through to the cleaners are without exception lovely caring people. They all greet me by name and always have time to talk. My husband's Alzheimer's can make his behaviour challenging at times but I am reassured to know that he is helped in a very sympathetic and caring manner. There is a lovely atmosphere at the Home and it is never a chore to visit. I have never seen a miserable face or heard a complaint from any of the staff, on the contrary, there is always a smile, a friendly face and even a hug if I need it . No-one wants to be in these circumstances, but we are, and we are so fortunate to have such a good care home and lovely team of people in our village.
Both my parents have lived at Langham Court since December 2023. Over the last 12 months, we have been blown away by the skill, expertise and caring nature of the team. Their expert nursing care helped Dad through his complex physical care needs whilst the specialist dementia care has supported Mum. Through the skill of the team, our parents stayed together through their 60-year marriage only separating when Dad passed away this December. The team at Langham (including all staff: manager, receptionists, cleaning, kitchen, and care/nursing teams wrapped themselves around us all as a family. Mum said goodbye to Dad and was skillfully supported during Dad's last days of life. Dad had the most peaceful passing thanks to the nursing team's skill and incredible care support. We feel very lucky that we found Langham and that Mum is happily living there, settled and looked after with expertise and love.
Langham Court was the most fantastic place that my mum could have hoped to spend her last months of her 95 year amazing life. I am convinced that we could not have found a better more stimulating and friendly home to care for her and be nearer to her family.
My wife was diagnosed with a rare dementia at the age of 55. Many care homes do not cater for this demographic let alone the rare dementia diagnosis. Respite was arranged and I was delighted with the process and thrilled to hear that the staff wanted to learn about her as a person. Truly person-centred and not just another resident in a care home setting. In time, as the disease has progressed, full-time residential nursing care has been required and there is no other place that I would want my wife to be. It's not just me noticing this but our children and my wife's siblings too. The family that owns Langham Court have a unique person-centred approach and staff from the most junior, right up to MD subscribe to the "Butterfly" care model and it shows, having been awarded "Best Dementia Care Home" by The National Dementia Care Awards in September 2024. If you want a compassionate, understanding care home for your loved one at a time of great stress you will find it in Langham Court.
It is heartbreaking seeing the effects of dementia take hold of a loved one and not easy having to entrust them to someone else; to provide the professional care that is needed. We are very fortunate indeed that our Father is able to be at Langham Court, where the staff have always shown him the respect and love that he so deserves and which we would want him to always have. We are truly humbled by the care staff's dedication and professionalism; for which we will forever be thankful. Langham Court is a wonderful place but it is the carers that make the difference; the staff are all special people doing a difficult but an incredibly important job. Keep up the amazing work that you do and thank you on behalf of our family; it is so very much appreciated.
Thank you for looking after my husband so well during his two weeks of respite care. He had never been in a home before and I was very apprehensive about leaving him. I need not have worried as he was very happy and content in his temporary home.
Fantastic care for my mum who is at the last stage of her dementia journey. My mum has been at the home for over 18 months now and we've been so happy with the love, dignity and care she has received. This has become even more poignant recently as she comes closer to the end of her journey. So much love, attention, kindness and care. Thank you team!
I had the most wonderful experience at Langham Court! Myself and my carer were warmly welcomed by the lovely staff, and then I had a heavenly bath in the adapted bathroom. A wonderful safe bath designed for people like myself, with mobility issues. I can't thank you enough, it made such a difference to me! I hope to return soon!
We had a truly wonderful interaction with Langham Court from the very beginning. The staff were all kind, respectful and helpful with my Dad when he stayed for a 2-week respite care period, and have been so helpful in our follow-up. His coat was even found 6 weeks after he left! The staff were always so friendly when we called to speak to him, and even co-ordinated our visits so that it was less traumatic for all, they would come and talk to him so he'd be distracted when we left. He enjoyed his time at Langham Court and it was a very personal, homely experience. As this was his first time in care, it was all very new for us, but with the brilliant guidance of all the staff, we managed to navigate it successfully. I was sent photos of him painting, There were carers available who could take him out for a walk if he wanted, and he had a lovely garden room so that he could walk in the inner courtyard when he wished to. A huge big thank you to you all!
Very friendly, smiling carers and reception desk.
My dad moved into Langham Court due to his advancing Alzheimer's and dementia. He is definitely not the easiest person to deal with at times, but the staff at Langham couldn't be more caring and professional and kind to him and any requests we have made have always been answered with a positive response. I feel happy knowing that my dear dad is in the best place possible for him to be looked after in his final years. I couldn't recommend Langham Court and its staff highly enough!
My husband has been at Langham Court Nursing Home for two years, with Young Onset Alzheimer's and has had a brutal journey throughout his rapid Langham Court has worked closely with me to provide bespoke care, making his day worthwhile, genuinely caring for him in every aspect of his life as I would have done if he had been able to stay at our family home. I believe this is the best nursing home in the country, the way it is run is understated and by a family which makes one of the differences. There are no chandeliers and glossy tables but a home-from-home feel with beautiful outside areas to sit and my husband and I have been known to enjoy a glass of wine during the summer months. He still looks like the businessman he was, his personal standards maintained even though he is now advanced. I just wished I had known about Langham Court earlier but to those of you looking for the best care, you have found it at Langham Court and I am hard to please!
My husband always looks well looked after. He enjoys the food and the activities. The staff are caring and very attentive. We as a family would not hesitate to recommend Langham Court as we feel reassured that he is happy and well taken care of.
Since my friend took up residence at Langham Court I have nothing but complete admiration for the care she has received. All the residents have different needs and considerations which the staff know and recognise so their care is carefully tailored to take this into consideration. The individual attention that each resident receives is notable and I have no doubt that this can be difficult at times. However, because of the training and caring attitudes of the staff, nothing is beyond their capabilities.
My husband recently spent 3 weeks at Langham Court whilst I, his full-time carer, had an operation. Originally for 2 weeks, but an unexpected setback meant I couldn't have him home. LC didn't flinch and replanned the rooms so he could stay extra. I didn't visit very much, which makes it difficult to comment, but I know he was safe. It is very difficult to judge an individual's level of care/understanding. My husband's condition is unusual in that his knowledge and memory etc. is fairly intact. It took a little time to understand this, but 'next time' they will know from the start!
We have been very impressed by the quality of care given to our mother since she arrived at Langham Court in November 2023. The home has made Mum and us (her children) very welcome and there is a very warm and caring feel about the place. The staff are incredibly kind and compassionate and we feel that Mum is very well cared for in every way. She has become much calmer and less agitated since she arrived nearly 6 months ago and we feel that this has been greatly helped by the attentive and caring staff. The home is in lovely grounds which makes visiting all the more pleasurable and enjoyable especially for children. This is the third home that Mum has been in and by far the best in terms of meeting her needs - we recommend it highly.
My dad had a stroke and after several weeks in hospital we realised that he would not be able to return to his flat so we looked at care homes, a scary thing. After looking at several, the one that stood out was Langham Court and we are so glad that this is now his home because a home is what it is. Everyone was welcoming from day one and not just for Dad, but the family also became part of the 'Langham Family'. All the staff without exception are amazing, they all interact with the residents and are a real team who put the needs of the residents above everything else. Now that Dad has settled he is enjoying life there with a wide range of activities to enjoy and keep him occupied. The setting of the home is fantastic with beautiful grounds, not to mention the chickens and horses! If you have a family member who needs to go into a care home I would highly recommend that you go and look at Langham Court, we are certainly very impressed with the care my dad has received.
Grandad was moved into Lagham Court due to age-related dementia. From the first day, he was there, we were treated like one of the family. We were able to visit whenever we needed too, pre covid, and Grandad was so incredibly well looked after. The staff talked to him and listened to what he wanted, and gave him such amazing care. On his 100th Birthday, they made a huge fuss of him, giving him 3 cakes and a bottle of champagne! During Covid, Langham Court emailed every few days with updates, and kept us informed, and often send photos of Grandad, so although we couldn't see him in person, we could still see photos of him. The care Grandad received was amazing, and the staff made the utmost effort to look after and support Grandad. We will miss Langham Court and all the staff so much. Thank you for making it a true home from home.
After only six weeks in Langham Court, our family are very satisfied with the overall quality of care and support for my wife, in particular, we think that the team of carers achieve as strong rapport with her and provide excellent quality control. Whilst we have a very positive impression now if and when normality returns we believe another review will enhance our impressions even further.
My mother was a resident at Langham Court for nearly three years up until April 2019 and I can honestly say that the care and attention and sheer pride emanating from the staff in creating a loving family atmosphere is second to none. This must be one of, if not, the best Dementia/Alzheimer’s specialist care homes in the UK.
