View Full Details of Maple Court Care HomeOverall we are pleased and have no complaints about Maple Court, mother always presents clean, tidy, well groomed, clothes nice. She is mostly content and seems to enjoy the company of carers/ other residents. Minor point, catheter care is a bit hit and miss, maybe staff need more education regarding hygiene, placement and emptying of leg bags etc? Activities are improving and the home seems better managed recently. Food good, staff are friendly, helpful, polite and caring. Pressure area and skin care are good… there seems to be good liaison with community nursing staff.
All of the staff have been very kind to Mum and kept me informed whilst she has been poorly over the last few days. They recognised early that Mum was brewing an infection and organised for her to be reviewed and antibiotics prescribed even on a Sunday afternoon thus preventing a hospital admission.
My 88-year-old mother moved into Maple Court on December 16th, straight away I felt this was where she needed to be. The caring staff are simply fantastic. They should have great dignity with the residents and I know my mum is cared for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a warm friendly, caring environment. I can sleep well at night.
Since the new manager has taken over, I have noticed a significant difference in my auntie's care. My auntie is out of her room every day and is much more independent. Refreshing and fantastic to see. A much happier family.
I have noticed a big change in Mum's appearance in every way possible. All staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them when you need anything. Mum's room is always tidy which is nice to see. Everything I visit everyone has a nice smile and are very welcoming. The manager is so incredible every time I visit she makes a point of speaking to me and if I have any worries is really nice.
The staff here have always treated my mum with dignity. She is very well looked after, she gets personal care daily, she is out in her chair with the other residents, the meals are home-cooked, the Sunday dinners are lovely. The staff are always respectful and kind to both Mum and myself. We have gotten to know them by their first names. She has been here for a number of years now both upstairs and now downstairs. Her room is always clean and tidy.
My mother-in-law has been a resident at Maple Court for about 8 months. When she first arrived, she could not walk, struggled to speak and refused to eat. From the minute she moved to Maple Court she has seemed happier than we have seen her in a long time. She has gone from being bedbound to walking with a frame around the building. She now chats happily and is eating well. We feel we have got our mother back and enjoy visiting her. We are now able to take her out on short trips, which is something we never imagined would be possible. The staff at Maple Court truly care about the residents and we can not thank them enough for the care they have given to her. They have literally turned her life around. Staff always seem happy and friendly and take a genuine interest in the residents and their families. I can not rate them highly enough. Thank you for all you do and for keeping our mother safe and well.
My wife always says she is well cared for and content. I have always found all staff to be attentive to any need.
Needs shutting down by the Care Quality Commission. From what I witnessed people are simply neglected. There is no care. There are no activities. Staff being investigated by the police for assault. CQC investigating numerous safeguarding complaints. Do not consider putting a loved one in this hell hole.
I was very lucky to remove my husband from this care home. Had issues during his residency which I raised with Manager and social worker. My husband left in November 2023 and is settled in another care home. I had reason to go back to Maple Court to pick up a document last month. The place smelled of urine and garlic - it was 10:30 am. I was told the chef left months ago and a carer - not a qualified cook - had taken over in the kitchen. No one cares at all. I felt sorry for the lovely residents.
Very good care and consideration given to residents. Pleasant environment and plenty of room.
Very pleased with the overall care. Suggestions for improvement - room spray to mask smells in corridors. More private small rooms for the family to play games, colour in etc with residents. More activities ie dominoes played with residents, chair yoga etc.
Absolutely amazing service! My step-mum is very happy here. The staff are second to none. Care and support needs are met to a very high standard.
Unfortunately, my mum was here for only 5 weeks before she died. In my opinion the staff were nice enough on the whole, but the care she received was appalling, they ignored her, and nobody ever spoke to her. My mother suffered with COPD, and Asthma amongst other things, so was vulnerable. My mum was kept in bed the majority of the time too. My mother died on June 22nd, and my now ex-friend came up that day when she died to ID her body in my place as I couldn't bring myself to do it myself and whilst he was there, he stole my mum's phone and your staff did not inform me what he had done until two weeks later. I informed the police, but unfortunately, he got away with it... as usual and this is for the reason that I cannot remember the names of the two members of staff who told me he had stolen it. In my opinion, Maple Court although it looks like a nice place, is nothing to shout from the rooftops about! I wish I could give 0 starts out of 5 because it's what it deserves in my opinion!
I was very impressed with Dad's quality of care, especially when it came to end of life. They did their very best to keep him comfortable, nothing was too much trouble! Their generosity extended to me for the time I spent there,
Mum received excellent care when in Maple Court, I would say, far better than when she was in the hospital. It was good to see the same members of staff as they tried very hard to get her to eat and take her tablets and supplements as her dementia was getting worse. Towards the end of her life, she was bedbound, and they looked after her very well, regarding keeping her clean and assisting when needed to open her bowels, etc. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to friends and family.
Unfortunately my grandmother was here for 4 years. In my opinion, the care was appalling, the management were useless, and I was not informed when my gran suffered several unexplained injuries, such as a black eye! I asked how it happened and no one could tell me. My gran suffers with dementia, she has limited communication, so is extremely vulnerable. I asked her if someone had hit her and she replied 'yes'. On another occasion, a man was found naked in my gran's bedroom during the night. The social worker informed our family, 2 weeks after the incident happened. Maple Court did not tell me. My gran was not taken to a hospital to be examined and I had to call the police myself. My gran was kept in bed the majority of the time, she was absolutely filthy and despite raising my concerns several times, nothing changed. I have challenged the 'good' rating with CQC as I personally have very serious concerns about the welfare of the residents. In my opinion, Maple Court is not safe for vulnerable people.
Pleasant and friendly staff offering a safe place for some respite care. Belongings were taken care of. Mum said everyone was kind.
My experience of Maple Court Care Home has been good - my mum was there for a year before moving to a nursing home. The staff are caring and the management is very good. No care home is perfect but the team at Maple Court are friendly, helpful and most importantly, view the resident as someone to be cared for and looked after. I'm very happy to recommend Maple Court.
My husband was warmly welcomed and shown a very pleasant room with a walk-in shower. The staff are all helpful and extra good with relatives, even brought in extra furniture to facilitate relatives comfort. The food was good, especially puddings!
