View Full Details of Meadowbrook Care HomeWe were made very welcome, by lovely helpful staff. The building was warm light with beautiful decor, like a really grand hotel. The residents we saw around all looked really happy and well cared for.
My parents have been Meadowbrook since the beginning of February & everyone has been friendly & caring. It has been a very big change for them & they have all helped to settle them in. Meadowbrook has outstanding facilities & activities to suit all abilities. Would definitely recommend.
We moved our Dad from another care home where he had lived for 4 years to Meadowbrook in February 2025 and the move has been seamless. The staff have been exceptional, especially two staff members who personally took responsibility for settling our Dad, who is living with advanced Lewy Body Dementia. We had been so worried to move him so far into his diagnosis, however the team have made him feel safe and comfortable. He is sleeping better than ever and has finally started gaining the weight he has lost steadily over the last 9 months. When asked, with limited vocabulary he describes his new home as 'feeling like home, home'. I am sleeping better too and don't feel the need to keep checking in. We couldn't have wished for more.
Management care and attention are excellent, friendly, good communication and caring approach for the resident. Caring staff on what I have observed are a little bit slack and take the residents first reaction as gospel. Resident with dementia sometimes cannot communicate if they are thirsty or hungry and could have not had drink or food all day. I know it's difficult as there are other residents but a bit more observation would greatly help. Staff should encourage residents to get involved and participate in all of the facilities and organised events so the residents settle and enjoy the home easier.
Very pleased with our choice of care home for my husband. He had 2 weeks of respite in another care home earlier which we and he did not like. The care given at Meadowbrook is excellent as is the overall ambiance.
The whole staff team at Meadowbrook Care Home have been consistently friendly, patient and caring towards Mum and any of Mum's visitors. There is a lovely atmosphere in the Bistro and the dining room when the residents are gathered there and it's good to see them enjoying the various activities and entertainment. I love to see the 'Works of Art' on display too that have been created by the residents. It was a difficult decision to move mum to a care home but after the move to Meadowbrook, I wish she had moved here sooner!
My 92-year-old mother went into Meadowbrook Care Home in early January 2025 for respite care following a deterioration in her mobility after a chest infection. My mother has always been fiercely independent and was not keen on going into a home, even for respite care, but the whole experience has been absolutely amazing. The entire staff - from the management to the caring staff and the reception team - have been wonderful - professional, friendly, welcoming, sensitive and caring. The home itself is wonderful with very stylish, comfortable rooms and great bathrooms. The communal areas are fabulous with a lovely cafe, dining room, lounge, cinema room, private dining room, children's area, craft room and probably more places that I haven't yet discovered! My mum has already (in less than a week) visited the hair salon and had her nails done and seen the in-house PT several times to help with her mobility. This is a special place with staff who really care. I couldn't recommend it more.
A very nice new facility, we call it a luxury hotel rather than a care home. Large rooms with ensuite shower rooms and nicely furnished. The hospital-type bed is well-disguised. The staff have been so kind and caring and do everything to keep my mother safe and comfortable. The home has a great vibe with lots of things going on for the residents and their families. It is sad my mother is too poorly to join in and appreciate what there is available to pass the time. I would definitely recommend this home.
My father has just spent 3 weeks at Meadowbrook for respite care. From the moment he arrived until he left a few days ago, he was so well looked after. The staff were super helpful at all times and supported him superbly to achieve his aims to increase his strength and regain his confidence, to enable him to achieve his goal of returning to independent living. I can't thank everybody enough for everything they did for Dad.
Mum moved into Meadowbrook in early October 2024. It is a caring, comfortable and engaging environment for loved ones. The home is brand new and luxurious, with a warm atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and well-designed, offering residents privacy, comfort and Mum's room has so much natural light. Guests are encouraged to join residents for meals. They also accommodate celebrations in a private dining room. Mum has had the opportunity to try everything from arts and crafts to fitness classes and she has enjoyed a movie night in the cinema room. The activities are planned to keep residents active, engaged, and happy. In addition, Mum has regular hair and nail appointments together with chiropodist visits and trips into town to shop. The staff are friendly and attentive. They make everyone feel comfortable and supported, always greeting us with smiles and ensuring my mother feels right at home. Meadowbrook has given our family peace of mind knowing that my mother is well cared for.
Meadowbrook is a beautiful well kept care home. On arrival, you are greeted with a warm welcome and offered refreshments The staff are extremely kind and pleasant and nothing is too much trouble The resident's rooms are lovely and large and well-equipped with excellent medical beds for those that may require them There are activities and trips a plenty and lots of social events for the residents A beautiful private dining room where private parties can take place My Mum and Dad are both residents, Mum has dementia and has blossomed in the surroundings.
Coming to the stage when you realise a home is the next stage for one of your parent's care is a very difficult and overwhelming time. From the moment we visited Meadowbrook Care Home we knew it would be the right place for dad. The noticeable difference that puts it above the other care homes in the local area is the team. From our initial enquiry Deputy Manager was so patient and kind answering all our worries and woes giving us the reassurance that they could meet dad's needs. Then every staff member we have met since dad joined Meadowbrook, from reception to the care team to the cooks and housekeeping are welcoming, kind and genuinely care for the residents. With an open door policy for visits, you get to see the care home in action and it's truly lovely. A most deserved five star rating.
Meadowbrook ensured that we all had a memorable time celebrating Mum's 90th Birthday which kicked off with a wonderful champagne breakfast and then a Chinese Meal on Saturday evening in the private dining room. It was a very special time with many happy memories. Thank you to all the team at Meadowbrook.
I can't praise all the staff enough at Meadowbrook. We're treated like one of the family and feel so secure that Dad is in safe hands. We're so appreciative of everything they do. Thank you so much for your wonderful care and hospitality.
Dad recently moved into Meadowbrook and from the moment he arrived he really couldn't have received any better care. The home has such a lovely feel as soon as you walk through the doors and all the staff are so kind and caring and nothing is too much trouble. The home is beautiful with all beautifully decorated rooms. The bistro area is lovely to have a coffee or something to eat when Dad has visitors and the food the residents have is delicious and beautifully presented and family and friends are welcome to stay for meals too which is lovely. The home always has plenty of different activities to join in with as well as organising trips out. The staff not only look after Dad but they really look after us when we are visiting and make us feel so welcome. I feel very lucky that Dad is in such a lovely home and being so well looked after!
Meadow Brook and their team are truly amazing! We have been visiting our 90-year-old grandmother who is in for 3 weeks after surgery. We have been made to feel so welcome on every visit, the social communal areas are inviting and comfortable and her room is spacious including a stunning g bathroom and all the little extra touches of comb, razor, cleansing products provided! The food they provide is nutritious and meets her needs. We are always welcomed by caring staff who will do anything for you and her and keep us hydrated very well whilst there. The staff member and her hospitality team are incredible, and even provided us with a 3-course meal for 11 of us to celebrate her 90th birthday yesterday evening. All the other residents there are constantly having attentive care also anytime we are there, from sitting and doing puzzles with them, watching a film together with them or just generally chatting and keeping them entertained. We couldn't be happier and want to thank everyone so much.
From the moment we contacted them they could not have been any more helpful putting our minds at ease. The accommodation and facilities are superb. The day my dad went in we had a family meal in the private dining room the food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been any more helpful. I would highly recommend a visit if thinking of a place for respite or a permanent home. 5 stars all around.
This care home is amazing! My nan has recently moved here and she couldn't be happier. Naturally, she was against moving out of her home where she had lived for 50+ years but within a few hours, she felt settled and at home which was all down to the fantastic and welcoming staff who work at Meadowbrook. There is a large restaurant in the home where all the residents can go at any time to eat or drink which is also included so they are never asked for money. there is also a cinema room, gym, private dining rooms and so much more. Recently myself and 12 others from my family went to see my nan and we booked the private dining room. The onsite Chef made us a superb 3-course meal (Michelin star standard) and my nan had the best day seeing us all and proudly showing off her new home. (again, this was all included in the price and we didn't have to pay a penny). My nan's room is also spectacular and again she couldn't be happier. I might book 2 weeks in myself!
