View Full Details of Meadowburn Care HomeMy 95-year-old dad was a resident at the Marigold Unit in Meadowburn Care Home for almost 5 years and his level of care was excellent. He was always well-dressed, clean and smart. Staff looked after him so much and his family were always happy to see him looking good. Thank you to all the staff who provided such great care for my dad. 10 out of 10.
My mother-in-law has been in Meadowburn Care Home for over a year now, I am extremely impressed with the level of care she receives, she is always immaculate, her room is spotless every day, she is in the Honeysuckle unit, the staff are amazing! Nothing ever any trouble always there to help, I'm grateful to all of you.
My nana is in the Honeysuckle unit at Meadowburn. I am always so impressed by the level of care she receives. The room is spotlessly clean, and we always feel so welcome. Thank you to the staff for their high level of attentiveness and care, when meeting the needs of my nana.
My mother has been in Meadowburn for a year and a half now, I would just like to thank all of the staff who have been taking care of my mum during this time, she is in the honeysuckle unit, and I cannot thank these carers enough for their kindness, compassion towards my mum but also a support for me. All the resident's families are very supportive too, it's like a small family as everyone is there for each other which makes a huge difference. From the minute you step inside Meadowburn, they are all very pleasant from the reception, cleaning staff and catering staff, activities coordinator, also the hairdresser who makes my mum's week getting her hair done. Any concerns at all there is always someone to help, the seniors, care home manager's door is always open too which is comforting, I am very grateful to these people as they do their job wholeheartedly. Thank you to all of you!
Nice care home without the care. My mother was in here for nearly a year, it started of very good, with staff that cared. Then everything changed, staff got moved about or left. My mother's unit went straight downhill. You can never find a member of staff. Patients walking around that have soiled themselves, unbelievable place. Because my family questioned this as we were up every day, the questions never went down well, all of a sudden my mother needed one-to-one care and she would have to move, we knew this wasn't true, and 2 members of staff confirmed this. The power-mad manager that runs the place is a petty little woman who thinks the world revolves around her. I'm writing this review not to put anyone off, just to keep an eye on your loved ones and don't be scared to ask questions, but remember if you question the manager you'll be told to find somewhere else. The unit my mother was in is honeysuckle, the full-timers and my mother's carer does not care for patients, then you have agency staff, not good.
My mum is in the Dementia Unit.(Poppy Unit) The care she receives is first class. The staff in the unit are fantastic. Most have worked in the unit for a long period of time (+2 Years). They are experienced. They know the residents personally and have an individual approach tailored to each resident. I would highly recommend this care home.
First time I had seen my sister for a few years. Staff put me at ease as I was not sure if my sister would recognise me, my sister did. It was her birthday, staff had cake and sandwiches for her and a wee get-together with the residents. Then my sister's family came in, my nephew and sister's grandchildren. Staff were great, giving us sandwiches and coffee. Probably a bit noisy but they did not mind. Thank you for your kindness and for looking after my lovely sister.
After the loss of my dad in January 2022 it became evident that my mum needed more support in her day-to-day routines. The four times daily care at home was sufficient initially but after a fall and hospitalisation in April mum's mobility and cognitive awareness became a huge issue. We secured a place in Meadowburn at the end of October and mum has settled in really well. As a family, we had no experience of care homes so it's been a steep learning curve for us all. The staff made this a very easy process and continue to help us understand what services mum can rely on in her new home. The staff all make a huge effort to make all residents welcome and feel safe and cared for. The regularity of care, medicine, meals and company is excellent and we all see a more settled and contented Mum/Gran/Great Gran now. Visits with mum are far more enjoyable as we get quality time reminiscing & making new memories in this amazing home. We are very lucky indeed.
I would just like to say a big thank you to a member of staff who works in the Bluebell unit, what a very friendly and helpful guy, very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. I was visiting my mother-in-law, he explained how things were going and that there were no issues at present, didn't even have to ask, he was brand new, plus my mother-in-law enjoyed his company when he came into her room, chatting away, so a big thank you to him for making my visit to Bluebell so enjoyable, you're a star.
