View Full Details of Mistley ManorI cannot praise this home or its staff and management for their high level of care and respect they show to my Mum and us as a family She has settled there and is happy and fulfilled in life and I cannot honestly say there is nothing that is too much trouble for them. I would recommend Mistley Manor to anybody looking to live the rest of their lives in a safe and happy environment.
Very pleased with level of service. The attitude of staff is supportive and friendly. This high level of care and support extends to support/administrative personnel as well which creates a very happy and pleasant atmosphere.
Since our mother moved into Mistley Manor, she has been very happy and settled and we couldn't wish for better care. She takes part in stimulating activities and is much more alert, interested in everyday things and is much more active physically. She absolutely loves the food and has put on weight, which is a relief as she had lost a lot of weight in the last couple of years. The staff are just fantastic and being able to have her hair and nails done regularly is lovely to see. Mum moving to Mistley Manor has given my brother and I peace of mind, so thank you to everyone involved in her care.
I am very happy and satisfied with the care and help my husband receives at Mistley Manor. It gives me satisfaction that he is well looked after at all times. It is nice you can always speak to management anytime if you have any questions. I am more than happy.
My sister, who has Alzheimer's, has been a resident at Mistley Manor for 3 years and has never had any complaints about her room, care or food. She is kept occupied with creative and gentle physical activities and trips to nearby garden centres, beaches and the local church. The staff take a personal interest in her and check on her hourly at night. I would have no hesitation in recommending this excellent care home.
The carers are all superb with Mum, there's not one that doesn't relate and look after well. She knows them all even with her Alzheimers, which is of course getting worse. I have just had a care plan review and the two staff members were so on the ball and willing to give recommendations to myself and the family as to how to handle Mum's memory decline "bite-size info, don't overwhelm her". Also, they very much look on the positive as to how much Mum can still do and enjoy. She loves all the art activities and is really proud of all her creations. Thank you, Mistley Manor, you do a great job. There's not one thing about Mistley Manor that isn't 5-star in my opinion.
My brother moved into Mistley Manor in early January 2025 so I do not have a huge experience but what I have seen and heard leads me to be happy that my brother is in safe hands. I like very much how the staff handle feeding residents who need it at lunchtime.
Mistley Manor has cared for my father for nearly 2 years, they have always shown him understanding and care. They also have time to discuss his needs with his daughters and support us in any decisions that need to be made. The level of cleanliness at the home is first class in the resident's rooms and shared areas inside and out. The food offered is excellent and varied, from the main meals to snacks. Dad always looks cared for, has regular haircuts and being shaved and showered. When Dad has been ill, full support was offered and access for us to visit whenever we needed was given. Always good to see the care staff's recorded visits to Dad throughout the night. The activities offered to residents are varied fun and suitable. Extremely impressed with the effort put into this and how genuinely caring the whole team are. The management team are approachable and kind and always welcoming and supportive. I can only speak highly of Mistley Manor!
Despite our mother, with dementia, not really wanting to be in a care home, she has settled really well. She says all the staff are lovely and very friendly, and the food is wonderful. From our point of view, our mother is very well cared for. We haven't come across one member of staff who isn't friendly, caring and compassionate and that's from the kitchen staff, laundry staff right through to the senior carers. We are very pleased we have Mistley Manor so close to us all.
The review went really well for my friend. Both staff members were well-versed in the day-to-day care needs of the resident. We were educated on the personal development of her decline due to dementia/Alzheimers. The review gave us the comfort of knowing that her needs are being well met. We were made to feel comfortable at the review and both staff members were both open and approachable on all questions and queries. Overall an excellent experience.
Mum has been a resident at Mistley Manor for two and a half years. Not only is the building fit for purpose and beautifully presented, but the care that the staff provide is excellent. There is always a 'hello' from every member of the team and it is clear that they know Mum well and cater for her needs with a smile and good humour. As a family, we know that Mum is safe and happy.
The quality of care is excellent and the emotional and physical well being of our mother is always carefully considered. Staff are always available to listen and reassure all is well. All staff have got to know our mother well and know what she likes, even her favourite biscuit. Our mother has always been very happy at Mistley Manor which in turn makes us happy too.
My husband has been a resident for 14 months after a few years of respite and daycare. He has been looked after very well by the caring staff. The food is first class and my husband has regained previously lost weight. He is as content as he can be and the care staff have come to know his ways.
My mother moved into Mistley Manor in October 2024. The transition was handled superbly by all of the team and she has settled in really quickly. The level of care engaged and caring attitude of staff, quality of food and overarching ethos at the home are second to none. Very varied activities are offered by the excellent in-house team. The staff know all residents by name from day one. All staff are engaged in making life at Mistley Manor like a home from home. The ratio of care staff to residents is excellent. All problems we have raised have been resolved quickly and with good communication. Staff and management take responsibility for ensuring resident's concerns are listened to and agreed actions are implemented. Very holistic attitude to residents and interaction with staff and other residents very impressive.
My mother had a 2-week respite stay when I was unable to care for her. She had a lovely spacious room with an en-suite shower room. She had a lovely stay. There were lots of activities which she was encouraged to join and these were very good for her mental wellbeing. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Mum was diagnosed with dementia in 2021, Dad and I were determined to care for Mum at home but eventually, it became impossible. Admitting it was time for Mum to go into a care home was the hardest decision to make but a year on from Mum first going to Mistley Manor, she is settled and much calmer as her anxiety is managed, she's even starting to put on a bit of weight as the food is so nice. It was the staff that made us choose Mistley Manor, they are exceptional, not only with Mum but help me too and you can tell they genuinely care about their residents who they treat with love and dignity. One carer told me after visiting her grandma in a care home when she was little she decided then that she wanted to become a carer so she could be a granddaughter to all the residents she cared for and this is the general feeling you get from all the carers I've met who've helped Mum on her journey. I know Mum is safe, cared for and treated with dignity and I am so very grateful to Mistley Manor.
My mum has just had some respite at Mistley Manor. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay. Her every need was catered for, and we had complete peace of mind. She will definitely stay again.
Mistley Manor is an excellent care home with amazing staff and management team. The care my father received was exemplary, each member of the team treated him with kindness and respect. In a world where almost weekly, we read of the elderly being mistreated at the hands of those who are supposed to care for them, what a relief to find such a safe and caring home for my father. Thank you.
Mistley Manor is exceptional in the care, service and facilities provided. Everything is on point from the moment of arrival. The building, garden and facilities are wonderful. All the interior is elegantly furnished, brightly lit and spacious, the resident rooms are warm and clean and each includes a TV and ensuite shower room. There are various communal spaces including TV rooms, music rooms, restaurants, bars, entertainment spaces and well-designed garden areas to relax. Mistley Manor arranges a number of resident excursions as well as daily entertainment and themed events for special occasions like Summer BBQ or Octoberfest. The care provided is excellent from both highly experienced care managers to newly trained staff. Everyone is so friendly. The meals at Mistley Manor are outstanding, the menu changes daily with two to three choices per meal, and the chefs produce meals of restaurant quality with fresh ingredients and delicious sauces. Mistley Manor is in a league of its own.
Excellent care for 3 weeks during respite and recuperation from a major operation. All staff helpful and diligent. Medicines administered only by senior staff on the floor. The food is very good indeed and all facilities well cared for. Rooms cleaned well every day. Nothing too much trouble for staff or management. I would thoroughly recommend this care home and would return in the future if I needed to. It is infinitely better than the other six I researched prior to choosing. It was also recommended by a friend and the staff at the hospital where I had my operation. I did not participate in any activities during my stay but through observation, these seemed well attended and varied with outside trips as well as on site. I did not use the hairdressers but observed that many residents did so.
