View Full Details of Morningside Manor Care HomeI was invited to join my aunt and cousins for a Christmas afternoon tea. As our aunt is bed-bound it was hosted in her room. It was a wonderful experience and the staff made us all so welcome. Thank you to all the staff.
I visit my aunt in Morningside Manor on an unannounced basis and am thus so impressed with the level of care maintained. All staff are so helpful, friendly and attentive to all needs. Nothing is too much to ask of them. The home has a lovely feel and positive energy as soon as you enter. I was lucky enough to be invited to my aunt's Christmas afternoon tea last week. The food, presentation and service was truly wonderful. Thank you to all for doing an amazing job. It's such a relief to feel my Aunt is in good hands.
My mum moved into Morningside Manor in early October and I am so pleased with the care she receives. The staff at all levels are so kind and really make an effort to get to know my mum and encourage her to join activities where she can. We went to a festive afternoon tea in a quiet lounge today just for Mum and a few families and the delicious food and effort that went into arranging that were really appreciated. I feel we were really lucky to get a room in such a supportive caring home. It's also exceptionally clean and "new" and efficiently run- everything you ask about is followed up. I would recommend this home to others, it felt like a good place on first viewing and has exceeded what I hoped it might be like from that visit.
Over the last 5 years, I have had two relatives living in Morningside Manor. The levels of care are exceptional from every member of staff. Great care is taken to get to know people as individuals and nothing is too much trouble to allow residents to live as they choose. The rooms and communal areas are beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The food is nutritious and varied with alternatives provided if requested. Drinks and snacks are always available. There is a daily activity programme and regular outings. There was a summer family picnic and individual Christmas family teas at which a fabulous spread was provided. Without exception, members of staff are caring, cheery, approachable and very helpful. Any minor issues have been promptly and efficiently dealt with by the excellent management team. I am extremely happy with the level of care my relatives receive at Morningside Manor and would have no hesitation in recommending the home to other families.
On behalf of our family, I would like to say a huge thank you for the way all your staff helped our Mum celebrate her 90th Birthday. She had a fabulous time on her actual birthday on Tuesday and again on Sunday with a wider group of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special thank you for the party on Sunday to two staff members for all the decorations, balloons, and organisation and to your Chef for the lovely party food and special 90th birthday cake. A big 'Thank You' to all the staff involved in making my mum's birthday week so special, they are a huge asset to your wonderful Care Home.
I attended the picnic yesterday and, despite the weather, it was a wonderful and happy day. The staff are so caring and hard-working and a 'thank you' has to go to the chef who provided a delicious lunch. Thank you one and all.
Had a great day at Morningside Manor Care picnic day. The staff are all excellent and always willing to join in. The food as always was great perfect for a picnic. Shame about the weather but that did not stop everyone from having a good time. Looking forward to next year.
Excellent staff - caring, professional and fun! Superb facility - extremely well maintained. Good offering of activities. Varied and well-made food. Mum is very happy and we are happy that she is happy and safe.
I can't speak highly enough about Morningside Manor. The most recent example being the Hawaiian-themed summer picnic which was a resounding success. Each visitor was warmly welcomed and handed a colourful garland to wear which set the happy tone of the afternoon. Due to wet weather, it had to be held indoors but it didn't stop everyone enjoying themselves. The live music was very popular with everyone singing along to many familiar songs and there was also some dancing from visitors and staff which was great to see. The picnic food and drink were delicious and ideal portion sizes. The staff are exceptional and such a good team, moving around the room chatting to the residents and their family members or friends. A lot of hard work and effort was obviously put into organising the picnic so a huge thank you to all the staff for a wonderful time.
The love, attention and care my aunty receives from the Morningside Manor team is very special. She is treated like a queen, and it is like she's living in a five-star hotel. Always being pampered, her hair and nails beautiful, making her feel amazing. They really do go above and beyond - just last week, they arranged a wonderful Christmas high tea for her and the family in the home. It was very special in a stunning setting with amazing food. Extremely thoughtful, and we all thoroughly enjoy making magical memories. Thank you! Five stars plus!
Morningside Manor is now my friend’s permanent home and she invited me to her Christmas high tea party. I had a lovely afternoon with her friends and relatives. We were in a beautiful decorated private room with Christmas music playing in the background. We started off with Christmas crackers and fizz followed by an amazing selection of savoury and sweet deliciousness. The lovely staff were on hand all afternoon to bring us fresh tea and coffee. Well done and thank you Morningside Manor a real treat to be invited
My friend for whom I am a welfare carer has been a resident for four years. I have given a review in the past and before lockdown so, it seems appropriate to update it. I cannot fault the standards of the staff at all levels. The quality of the care. The social entertainment especially picnic teas in the garden and wonderful afternoon Christmas teas. The staff deal with all sorts of problems and, they do so with a smile. If you are reading this review and you have a family member that finally needs care please consider this or any other of the four Lindamann Homes in Edinburgh. I am confident the food etc is acceptable. I have joined for two meals in the past and they were fine.
The festive afternoon tea offered to residents and friends/family exceeded expectations and was enjoyed by us all. The attention to detail was second to none and the food was lovely. We are all very impressed by the quality and friendliness of the staff. Having dedicated nursing care on site is reassuring for relatives and residents.
Festive afternoon tea was very much enjoyed by the resident and 3 guests. Wonderful food in lovely surroundings. Crackers, candy canes and Christmas music added to the atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
My mother, who has dementia, has been in Morningside Manor for almost five years and has just celebrated her 100th birthday. This length of stay is a testament to the quality of care she has received. The staff go out of their way to look after her and even organised a wonderful party in the home so that the family could celebrate her milestone birthday with her. We could not be happier with our choice of care home.
Our mother has recently moved in. In a few weeks, she has settled in well. She has been made to feel at home, and her personal and medical needs are being met to an excellent standard. We are delighted that she is enjoying some of the wide range of activities on offer and is less isolated than she was before. We have found the staff to be very helpful in dealing with any queries we have had. We are very pleased with our choice of Morningside Manor and feel confident that our mother is being well looked after.
Morningside Manor is an excellent care home and deserving of 5 stars. My mother moved into Morningside Manor in March 2022 and right from the start I was reassured that she was being cared for with professionalism, kindness, consideration and humour. Covid has tested the team yet they continued to be welcoming while adhering to strict protocol. Any questions I have had have been answered quickly and all staff have made themselves available to facilitate happy visits and excellent feedback. My mother has dementia and I worried about her ability to mix socially but she is doing so very happily. She particularly enjoys music therapy and carpet hoopla and other games. All the staff know her and I can tell that she feels safe, cared for and content. Her room is bright and lovely and every area of the home is bright, clean and attractive. I can’t visit as often as I would like but I am kept up to date by email and calls. I can’t recommend Morningside Manor Care Home enough.
My mum has been in Morningside Manor for almost 2 years now, it was her 90th birthday on 2nd August and I cannot thank the staff enough for all the effort they put in to make my mum's day a special one, they set up a room especially with decorations and she had a lovely afternoon tea. My mum was delighted she said to me “ if you ever need to go to a care home make sure you pick this one”, it’s such a comfort to know she is happy and so well cared for, I know it has been a particularly difficult period for all the staff, they work so hard and are always so lovely, well done to everyone and thank you for making my mum's birthday a day to remember.
My mother moved from the west of Scotland to Morningside Manor to be near my sister in Edinburgh, when she could no longer cope alone at home. It had been a difficult decision to make and I felt we had failed her by not managing to provide her with enough support to continue to live in her own home. Having visited from England last weekend, I am greatly reassured that this is the right place for her. The staff are warm and friendly, yet firm in implementing the Covid and security protocols that have been put in place to protect the residents. From this visit and my regular video calls, I have the impression that they work hard to look after my mother, provide her with company, see that she is kept busy and mixes socially, and help her to dress and present herself as she always did. As a fresh air freak, Mum was fearful of being kept indoors but manages a supervised walk in the grounds on most days. I hope she continues to enjoy this lifestyle for a long time to come.
During the period of the pandemic, a lot of pressure has been laid upon the staff including some of them being ill. However, their dedication to the residents has not wavered particularly in regards to my aunt. My aunt has dementia and is not aware of all the things going on around her. She is also blind and deaf so needs some extra care. I cannot praise the staff enough for all they do for her. I am, of course, not able to visit her very much just now but I can phone to get information on how she is, and the staff, office/nursing, are always pleased to give me the info to keep me up to date. I am 82 years old and if I were needing to go into a care home Morningside Manor would be my choice. Well done to all at Morningside Manor, I look forward to my next visit.
