View Full Details of Mousehold View Care Home - Avery CollectionMy aunt has been in your home for 3 months now. The care she has received has been excellent by all members of staff, from the housekeeping to the management. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always someone to talk to if need be. The cleanliness, entertainment, food, laundry etc is comparable with a 5 star hotel. Relatives are made to feel so welcome. We could not have picked a better place for my aunt to live.
Very welcoming and attentive staff. Visiting is never a problem and residents and visitors are encouraged to stay and participate in any activities or juts to have a coffee and cake. Any questions or concerns are dealt with efficiently and professionally by both the management and care staff. My aunt tells me she is very impressed by the standard of care and inclusion in activities she receives.
I cannot praise the team at Mousehold View enough, they have all turned what could have been a very distressing time for myself and my father into an easy smooth transition into residential care for him. From the moment I telephoned enquiring about short-notice respite care due to my own health issue every member of staff from the manager, the Reception team, carers, housekeeping and every other member of staff I've encountered on my visits have been welcoming, approachable and genuinely friendly. Dad's dementia had left him isolated due to not being able to engage with people easily, now he can have meals in a friendly social environment, and we can enjoy coffee and cake in a cafe setting without Dad experiencing anxiety by being in a busy public setting, his room is his safe place but he knows he can just open the door and he's not alone, someone will be around outside to greet him with a friendly hello or ask if he's ok. I can leave after a visit knowing Dad's in safe caring hands. Thank you
Good care and support for my elderly father.
Lovely staff, always accommodating and welcoming to approach. My brother and I feel Mum is looked after really well and I can't fault the home, management or staff. We know if we have any concerns we can speak to any members of staff, they will always take concerns on board and reassure us.
The home is absolutely fabulous but it needs more staff. Dad was on the top floor but it felt as though he was out of sight, out of mind. His seat in his shower was broken and the bath on his floor was out of service most of his stay. Also the car park is very small but staff use it so there are not enough spaces. The staff are wonderful but the top floor is lonely for residents and staff.
Unfortunately, the service has slipped recently since the change of management. Seven staff were laid off for no apparent reason, and some of those were excellent. There used to be a very warm welcome, but now it does not feel as welcoming at all. The activities seem to have also reduced in number.
The staff at Mousehold View were absolutely tireless in ensuring my dad enjoyed a comfortable, happy respite and recovery period with them after being very ill in hospital. Their sincerity, attention to detail and genuine warmth were so evident and we found that in every staff member we met. We were made to feel as welcome as my dad on our visits enjoying coffee, cake and chats with him and the staff in that gorgeous environment. Under their care, Dad made an excellent recovery and has been able to adjust to his new home so well. He felt safe, respected, cared for and understood. We have experienced many care homes over our 15 years of looking after older family members and Mousehold View is in a league of its own. Yes, the building and decor are stunning but the standard of care and sincere affection the staff have for their residents is really the beating heart at the centre of it all. An absolute gem!
My fortnight's stay was to aid my recovery from a major operation and in this it succeeded admirably. The facilities were excellent and there was always a very helpful member of staff available when needed. I would be happy to stay here on a permanent basis if that becomes necessary.
Mum stayed for respite and was originally booked in for the week but this was extended for another week, as Mum was really happy during her stay and is already asking when is she going back. Knowing that mum was so well cared for, was a huge relief to us also. The whole care team and staff were all so lovely, caring and considerate and made mum and family who visited, very welcome. Tea/coffee was offered and honestly, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all again, what a wonderful team you are and you should all feel so proud.
My mum came to Mousehold View for 9 days of respite care whilst we had a holiday. Her care was first class and all the staff went out of their way to make her feel welcome and relaxed. Nothing was too much trouble. Her room was beautiful, spacious and with en-suite facilities. My family visited daily and we were made to feel very welcome too and were offered drinks. They spoke very highly of her care and reported that my mum was having a brilliant time. She was encouraged to interact with the other residents and take part in the various activities and was very happy and relaxed. When we collected her she said she didn't really want to go home so she obviously enjoyed her stay. Thank you so much to all the staff for their wonderful care. It was so good to be able to go away in the knowledge that she was well looked after and happy.
The staff were all willing to help if required and dealt with any enquiry, which provided a good atmosphere. My stay was short, but I left with many happy memories of Mousehold View Care Home.
Our mother spent 2 weeks at Mousehold View for respite after a fall. The 2 weeks were perfect for her to rest and recover. The staff are all kind, welcoming and patient. She much enjoyed the luxury of being able to use a bath again. She also was delighted with the massage. The cafe area is light and pleasant, with tea, coffee and cake readily available. On one warmer day, she was able to sit in the garden, which is spacious and quiet. Thank you to the customer service manager and all the team.
I spent 3 weeks in respite care recently when my carer (my daughter) went to Australia on holiday. I was very fortunate as Mousehold View had recently opened in Norwich. I was taken to see the accommodation and was very impressed and decided it was where I would like to be looked after. I now know that I made a very good choice. The house was beautifully and tastefully furnished, the bathrooms were all I could ever ask for. In addition to en suite there were separate showers/bathrooms for people with ’special needs’ or who needed help with bathing. Day-to-day living there was a joy. The staff were, without exception, caring, cheerful and helpful. If I rang my bell anytime, day or night, a member of staff would come to see what I needed, even a cup of tea and biscuits at 3 am. Mousehold will be first on my list if I need respite care again.
This was my Mother’s first time in respite care and the whole family including Mum approached the stay with trepidation. By the time Mum left 3 weeks later the best reference possible was that she looked forward to another visit. Even my wife and I thought about checking in! The food was the only slightly disappointing aspect but we hear the chef has ‘moved on’, which shows the management is on top of everything and doesn’t hesitate to improve things when needed. I don’t hesitate to recommend Mousehold and other neighbours from Mum’s village have also become guests.
At very short notice the staff were able to get all paperwork completed for my mother to have a respite stay while I went on holiday. All the staff were so caring to myself and my mother, which gave me confidence that she would be in safe, loving and caring hands while I was away. She loved the room she had, joined in many group activities even visited the in-house hairdresser and the refreshments she shared with her visitors all contributed to an enjoyable stay. The food was enjoyed greatly by my mother at every meal and often had seconds. I will be recommending Mousehold View Care Home to others.
It gives me very great pleasure to write a review of Mousehold View Care Home. My wife spent two weeks in respite care in the home after a period in hospital and the effect on her confidence and psychological well-being was truly profound. She came home extremely well-motivated and able to cope with everyday life with increased enthusiasm. From every aspect this care home is of the highest calibre. All facilities are of impressive standards in design and hygiene and create a very attractive, caring atmosphere. The organisational side is reassuringly efficient: each member of the administrative staff is instantly communicable, friendly and knowledgeable. The personal care staff were equally of a very high standard: they were all warm and friendly, extremely competent and of good humour. Their relationships with residents created a really pleasant atmosphere and the activities arranged for residents were varied and stimulating. I am extremely grateful.
We were absolutely delighted with the fantastic respite care my Dad received at Mousehold View. The entire team was incredibly attentive and empathetic to his individual needs, even handling his occasional moments of resistance with warmth, humour, and professionalism. The home itself fosters a wonderfully warm and welcoming atmosphere, and I was always kept fully informed of any developments regarding Dad's well-being or medication needs. The staff were incredibly accommodating, even with my frequent visits (which I hope weren't too much of a nuisance!). I'm already missing the Fish Fridays and Sunday lunches, but I'm sure my waistline will appreciate the break! It's truly clear that Mousehold View has a dedicated and caring team, and we're incredibly grateful for the excellent care they provided Dad. Thank you all again.
Without exception every single member of the team that I have met at Mousehold View is delightful and has helped the family deal with what was a distressing and difficult time in Mum’s life. The quality of care is wonderful, as are the surroundings. The thought that has gone into providing a caring atmosphere is notable and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Mousehold View team for taking such good care of Mum in this next step of her journey in life.
My father moved into Mousehold View on the 23rd of December 2023 following a brief stay in hospital. I cannot thank the friendly, efficient, professional team at Mousehold enough. From the organising of Dad's move from hospital to the continued care and organising of his day-to-day care since then. The home is excellent, beautiful rooms, the food is amazing, dad loves meal times. He has a beautiful room with a view of the road where he likes to sit and watch people go by. My mother spent respite here too which was superb. Our family cannot thank the staff enough.
