View Full Details of Oak Hall Care HomeOak Hall consistently provide a high level of care and their staff are very efficient in dealing with all matters concerning my friend who is a resident.
My mother was living at Oak Hall for just over a year. She received excellent care right up to her passing. The staff were very supportive and helpful, and as her retirement flat was within the grounds of the home, it meant an easy transition from being in her own home to being cared for.
Care taken for all my requirements - working, good food, close care, quick response, comfortable bed.
Such a wonderful home. They looked after my Mum with such care and it was easy to see how much they cared for her, both her physical needs but more importantly her emotional needs. They were also always very caring to me and it felt like our second home. I honestly could not had chosen a better home for my Mum. I would recommend this home to everyone they work hard at providing a high level of care and also activities to keep the residents motivated. The communication was excellent, always would ring me if there were any concerns and would respect my wishes for mum's care. A truly wonderful home.
My elderly mother moved to Oak Hall following a fall which restricted her ability to walk. We have been very pleased with all aspects of the home. It is a lovely building set in beautiful surroundings but is easily accessible. Without exception, the staff are friendly and always willing to assist in any way they can. My mother's room is bright and airy and she has personalised it with her own pictures and ornaments. We have had an excellent experience.
Mum had been a resident for just over 3 years. She loved the staff-all of them and, it was clear, they really cared for her. She enjoyed a laugh and they made time to chuckle with her. The activities programme was very varied but Mum was never under pressure to join in if she didn't want to. Having said that, being very social, she did most things. She liked the food too. Being cooked on-site, it was always interesting and nicely presented. Sadly Mum died recently and the staff then were so helpful to us. If we had to place a relative in a care home again, I wouldn't hesitate to contact OakHall. We have no regrets. Mum was very content there.
Dad was a resident at Oak Hall from February 2022 to his death in October 2024. The superb team of carers and nurses looked after him with warmth, humour and humanity. They made Dad laugh and vice versa. How vital is that? When we wanted to have Dad changed, dressed, and hoisted into his wheelchair so that he could get outside for some fresh air, there was always somebody to help. After a walk and lunch, wherever possible outside, someone was always there to help us get him back into bed. The team get all the important things right. Dad was looked after, washed, changed, fed, talked to. He never had a pressure sore whilst he was there. The beautifully maintained grounds are a sanctuary - somewhere to depressurize. We'd sometimes bring a picnic and sit in the sun. We wheeled Dad down to the tennis court and the family had a combined tennis tournament and picnic. There was no issue with the management team; who are helpful, compassionate and knowledgeable. They were happy to accommodate us. Thank You!
Lovely attentive & caring staff in a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you for all you do. I feel happy in the knowledge that my friend is in such good hands, respected & treated with dignity. The home is clean & welcoming. Highly recommend.
Oak Hall recently provided end-of-life care for my husband and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Sadly he was only there for a very short while, but all the staff were compassionate and caring, and couldn't have done more for myself and my daughter. I cannot thank everyone enough.
A beautiful Victorian manor house is superb, well maintained and has original gardens. Helpful and friendly staff. Large public rooms with TV, games etc. Weekly programme of events and the restaurant open to visitors. Ensuite bathrooms in all resident's rooms. I have been visiting a friend there for over 3 years. Although very disabled she appears quite happy.
We were so blessed to have had our Dad stay in Oak Hall at the end of his life between May to July 2024. The staff team were; warm, friendly, caring, attentive, sensitive to individual needs not only to Dad but to my Mum, sister, our families and me. This, along with the gorgeous grounds, wonderful drinks machine and lovely interior eased our anxieties and aided precious visits with Dad ensuring his last few months on this earth were the best they could be. We honestly cannot thank Oak Hall and its incredible staff team enough.
My nana is really enjoying her stay here at Oak Hall. The home is very clean and welcoming with beautiful and spacious grounds. Oak Hall also offers plenty of activities. Also, my nana constantly compliments the food.
My almost 90-year-old father stayed at Oak Hall to recuperate in May - June following some falls and suffering from long-term covid. It's a beautiful historic house, and the views over the lush rolling hills of the National Park are gorgeous. Dad had an excellent view from his large bedroom window and enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace on sunny days. I think having such a lovely nature around really helped his recovery. The staff were helpful, friendly, cheery and professional, making Dad feel very welcome and treating him with dignity. The food was really excellent, Dad enjoyed every meal, and this helped him regain some of the weight he had lost. They have an excellent physio visiting as well. Dad also joined in a lot of the fun activities they do and was quite dedicated to the armchair exercise classes. He looked really transformed by the end of his 4 weeks there!
Fantastic staff who really put the 'care' into being a care home. Mum wasn't there for long as it turned into end of life, but everyone at Oak Hall was caring and compassionate and treated her with respect and dignity. Nothing was too much for them and they looked after all the little things. Great communication with us as relatives at a difficult time. Full-time qualified nursing staff gave us huge peace of mind. Although Mum wasn't ever able to use all the facilities, Oak Hall is really well looked after as a home and presented spotlessly. Every single member of staff does a great job. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny and hence great value. Very highly recommended.
Mum was in Oak Hall for the last month of her life. The staff treated both her and us with incredible dignity, efficiency and tact. We are very grateful and would not hesitate to recommend Oak Hall. Unfortunately, Mum couldn't use the activities so I can't recommend them - but they looked great!
Wonderful service. My mother was well looked after. Kept very comfortable and not in pain. All the staff from qualified nurses, carers, general staff and admin staff are very sympathetic at a difficult time and could not have done any more for my mother or my brother and myself. They made the passing of our mother as comforting and easy as possible. The location of the care home is lovely with access to gardens. The facilities throughout the hall and within individual en-suite rooms are very good. I would certainly recommend the care home for general residence care and end-of-life/palliative care. I cannot thank the team enough for the way they have helped over the last few difficult weeks.
Oak Hall did a super job providing emergency respite care for my mum following a hospital admission. The management and staff were flexible and caring and I felt confident that Mum was warm, safe and being well looked after. I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Hall to anyone.
I visited the care home in late January to see one of my friends. The home itself was magnificent with beautiful architecture and hardwood features. I was greeted as I entered the building by one of the staff who was very pleasant and asked if I would like a coffee. All of the staff were polite and pleasant helping me find my way through the home to my friend's room by leading me all the way there. I asked my friend when we were alone how he felt about the care home and he also said he could not find one fault with the care that he is getting, he gets lots of interaction with other residents and enjoys the activities. I have to say that I am very impressed with the home and wouldn't mind living there myself.
Excellent care home. My family friend received amazing, caring and compassionate care while staying here. Very understanding and helpful management. The rooms are lovely, clean and bright with exceptional views outside. A good selection of food is offered to the residents and a great selection of activities that residents can attend. Nothing was any trouble for all the staff and I would highly recommend it.

The staff were very attentive to us and others seated around, and it had a very comfortable atmosphere. It was a lovely time, and we had a good catch-up.
