View Full Details of Oak Park Care HomeMum has been in this care home for over eight years and enjoys every minute of every day. She is now 103 and a little frail to say the least, but the carers do their utmost to ensure that she is well cared for in terms of her personal health and well-being. She loves her carers and sees them as an extended family as they are so kind and friendly to her which gives us peace of mind knowing that she is happy and in a very safe environment. Thank you to all the staff at Oak Park for looking after our mum as it is very much appreciated.
Greeted at the door by the smiling lady from the office. Given an update on Mum after a fall on each of the consecutive nights. On the first night, Mum fell, I was telephoned and the situation was explained. Mum had hit her head and had a cut on the side of her eye. A little later, the paramedic rang. He was wondering whether or not to take Mum to hospital. As Mum was in bed and okay, I said not to as she refuses to cooperate with hospital staff. The next day, she was up, dressed and in the lounge.
Excellent care home - the staff are amazing and looked after Mum when she became ill in November and subsequently passed away - they were wonderful to Mum and indeed the whole family - absolutely wonderful - they all need medals.
My mum came here for respite in December 2022, which then turned into a short stay until she was back on her feet. We were a little dubious about having to get Mum into a care home, but after only a few days, we were so happy, especially as Mum settled in so well and began talking about staying full-time. The whole building is spotlessly clean, and the staff are 100% dedicated to their job and the care and well-being of their residents. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them, and when I visit, I can see in my mum and other residents just how happy they are, especially when they're in the bar area doing activities, which range from jigsaws to live entertainment and chair Zumba. I highly recommend Oak Park and the staff... Well done, and keep doing what you're doing.
Where to start. After a bad experience with Mum's previous care home, she was moved to Oakpark. What a transformation - beautiful furnishings and decoration. Mum settled in straight away. Staff are amazing with all the residents, fun and games, if you want to join in, I won't go into all the activities they provide as it would take too long. I feel nothing is too much trouble from all the staff. Well done, Oak Park. Five stars.
The staff are kind, caring and always considerate towards my mother-in-law. They treat her with respect and courtesy. They are always ready with updates when I can’t get to visit, meaning I stay informed when not able to be there in person. The home is light, bright and filled with love. I couldn’t wish for a better place for a loved one.
Both our parents were cared for at Oak Park for approximately two years. The care they received was second to none. The care staff quickly became our second family, and we felt we were leaving our parents with family. The care was always delivered with empathy, dignity and a level of professionalism you could only hope for. Their needs were constantly reviewed and catered for. Any issues we raised were dealt with and mutually resolved. It's never easy having a relative go into residential care, but our parents and the wider family were lovingly supported throughout. That care was given by all members of staff, from management through to the domestic staff, who all went above and beyond to make it a true home for our parents. The home was constantly cleaned and updated. The food was amazing and plentiful, and there was a full programme of activities and experiences to keep everyone entertained for those who wanted to engage in it. We are forever grateful for Oak Park.
My relative is being cared for with warmth and compassion. I cannot fault the care she receives. Her face lights up when she sees the staff. Oak Park should be praised, also, for its excellent food. The kitchen team provide excellent nutrition that my relative enjoys eating. A huge thank you to everyone at Oak Park.
My mum has lived at Oak Park now for the last six months, and I cannot fault the care she has received. The staff are extremely caring and attentive and respond positively to any requests. My mum is extremely happy living at Oak Park and has benefitted enormously from the excellent food, all the social contact and the range of appropriate activities. I would wholeheartedly recommend Oak Park.
Wow, wow, what can I say? I moved my mum here from another care home as she wasn't being cared for... since moving my mum here, she has completely changed from existing to being stimulated on a daily, hourly basis, with lots of activities, food is lovely, with choice, rooms are clean and tidy, and the staff are absolutely amazing. My mum has Dementia and Alzheimer's, so she's not easy, but she's back to being quick-witted, engaged, eating and sleeping. I call all these things out as her previous home was shambolic and should not be allowed to trade, so I have a comparison. I now feel content that my mum is properly cared for with dignity and respect. Staff are always happy and joining in with residents, singing and dancing... I call this a happy home. From the moment I arrived at Oak Park Care Home, my initial anxiety on transfer was addressed with empathy and compassion. Accommodation and facilities are superb, staff listen and make time to cheer and support residents with challenging personalities. Activities - Zumba, aerobics, film nights, chats, Xmas/New Year, etc - were a delight with staff efforts. When entering Oak Park Care Home, there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere - here, there is laughter, joy, music and caring staff - a complete package and fully deserving of its outstanding status.
I came here from hospital with a broken leg/knee and a broken wrist until my home is ready. I'm in a sit and wait bed. I am really enjoying my stay and have started to walk again with the aid of an A-frame. The staff are really great and there have been various activities. My friends visit regularly and are also made to feel part of the community. Although I'm looking forward to going home I will miss the friendly atmosphere and the community spirit that the staff foster daily (I will be going home in approximately 3 weeks).
I am very happy with all staff. All residents are happy and we are treated with respect.
Very friendly and caring staff. Like the room and used the hairdresser who was marvellous. Look forward to staying again.
Before moving to Oak Park Care Home my parents spent time in a couple of other care homes for convalescence. It was for this reason they initially stayed at Oak Park. Once they experienced the wonderful home they did not want to leave and insisted on staying permanently. The decor and furnishings are regularly updated keeping the home at a very high standard. However, what stands out is the atmosphere created by outstanding carers. I cannot thank them enough for their patience and compassion. It's good to have an opportunity to praise them and let them know how much they are appreciated.
In my experience, Oak Park truly cares about its residents. It passes a warm and inviting atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff who are well managed. The facilities are first class, and the maintenance and quality of the surrounding cannot be faulted. In addition to treating residents with dignity and respect, visitors are also shown the same attention and made to feel welcome and valued.
My mum fitted into Oak Park Care Home really well. She made good friends with the staff who all treated her with genuine care. She was very ill when she was sent to Oak Park but improved hugely with the good food and attention she got there.
Mum chose to go into this care home after a respite period. She is happy, content and well looked after. The staff are caring, kind, conscientious and always happy to help with any issues. Mum loves the food, and mealtimes are a highlight of her day. Although frail and severely sight-impaired, she enjoys participating in the activities, particularly where singing and music are involved. The continued requirements for staff and visitor mask-wearing is Mum's only complaint.
My mother has been a resident for over two years. The covid lockdown months were very difficult for staff residents and relatives but the management and staff worked extremely hard to ensure the residents were safe and well cared for. My mother enjoys the food at Oak Park very much, so special thanks to the kitchen staff. The activities staff are amazing and also very hard working. All care staff are friendly and work very hard. Many, many thanks to all.
