Oakmoor Lodge has a culture of people who care for the residents with respect and compassion. I feel that my family member is well looked after there and given a high level of care. The staff also make it fun for the patients, while showing them compassion and respect. I was very hesitant about putting my family member in a care home, but they have proven to be a very special place.
Our Mother has been living at Oakmoor Lodge for 15 months and is leading a comfortable and happy life. She is very content despite having Alzheimers. Oakmoor Lodge is a lovely care home with excellent friendly and caring staff. As a regular visitor, I find the staff very welcoming and approachable. If ever I need to speak to them, they are always very helpful and proactive. The surroundings and facilities are cleaned to a high standard and the activities that are offered throughout the day are brilliant. The activities co-ordinators work hard to provide fun, variety and entertainment. The food appears to be plenty, 3 courses per meal!! with a good range of hot and cold drinks as well as snacks. The corridors and general space means residents can walk freely and the garden area is an added bonus in the warmer months, offering plenty of shady areas. The care home is run efficiently by the Manager who is approachable and responds promptly to any concerns. I would recommend it to anyone!
Only been part of the home for the last few weeks, find the staff and nurses really lovely and very helpful. Always willing to help and assist and have made mine and my family's choice for my cousin so much easier.
The carers work hard to look after the residents. They are caring and do a tough job. The care home is clean and the activities are excellent. They are very welcoming when I visit as well as knowing my name. I would happily recommend this care home to other families.
I found the vibe of the home full of colour and inviting, the cafe area is such a comfortable place to sit with family on visits. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and there is always more than a few to help, we definitely chose the right place for our Mother.
My mother has been at Oakmoor since summer 2024. She has received excellent care and enjoyed all the activities that have been arranged in the home. All the staff are permanent and relationships are built with them to ensure trust and empathy The home is immaculate and if any concerns, there is always someone to ask. Mum feels safe and secure there.
As I have a knowledge of care homes, I wish to state this one is excellent, 100% satisfaction, thank you. I cannot recommend Oakmoor Lodge enough, every time I visit my lady friend, she is always clean and well dressed, which is important to me. She is also more mobile than she was at her home sitting by herself, May I congratulate everyone connected with this home, long may it continue.
From the minute I spoke to Oakmoor Lodge on the phone to enquire about a place for my father, to when we walked in to be warmly greeted by one of the staff, to now, I cannot fault Oakmoor Lodge in the care my father receives there. Staff are wonderfully warm and treat my father with such care, professionalism and dignity, that we know we've definitely made the right choice for him.
My mother has been living at Oakmoor Lodge since January 2025 and I cannot speak too highly of the care she has received. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and the staff have gone out of their way to make her feel settled and valued. Everyone has been extremely kind and caring and one member of staff assured me that my mother had settled in well and was part of the family at Oakmoor. She has Dementia and mobility issues, and my sisters and I feel that she is very safe and has wonderful care and support. We are so grateful to all the staff for their exemplary care.
The staff emanate a feeling of cheerful calmness as soon as the front door opens with hello. They always make time for a chat with the residents families and friends no matter how busy they are. On a day when you find yourself thinking of the passed and how rotten dementia is to your loved one the staff have what seems a built in way of cheering you up. The building is modern and very clean. The cleanliness is showed in the residents with clean clothes and brushed hair. There is a varied menu with dietary requirements available. Coffee, tea and various fruit drinks are made through out the day along with biscuits, much to the residents delight! If there's a mishap or medical problem a staff member will notify the family. These phone calls are delivered in a calm manner and there is time given for you to ask questions. After a stay in hospital my husband is nearing closure. At Oakmoor Lodge I know he is contented, well cared for and not ignored.
My mum has been in Oakmoor Lodge for 10 months. The carers are so kind and thoughtful and have welcomed me, as well as my mum, into the Oakmoor Lodge family. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them - if I ask a question I am never told that it is not that person's job - instead they will always find the person I need and so things tend to get sorted out quickly. I like that the doctor visits weekly so my mum can be seen routinely even if the problem wouldn't be deemed appropriate for calling a doctor out specially. A chiropodist and hairdresser who also visit is good. Communication is excellent between the home and me so I always know how my mum is and I can leave there knowing she is safe and cared for. There is a good weekly timetable of activities led by two lovely, smiley co-ordinators! There is regular live entertainment - singers or musicians which my mum loves. My only concern is the food which seems to be of varying quality. Thank you to all for taking care of my mum.
I cannot recommend Oakmoor Lodge highly enough. The staff were absolutely amazing and treated my mother with respect and dignity, particularly in the final days of her life. Everyone we spoke to and saw was so kind and patient, and I shall be forever thankful for the care and attention shown to mum. Thank you.
My mother was in the home for 19 months, and the care and respect given to her throughout her stay until she passed away was exemplary. We could not have asked for anything better. The staff are unbelievable and had a great rapport with her, and in her last few weeks, I commend them for the care and friendships given to her. Thank you.
My father is now living in Oakmoor he has settled in very well. The care he has received has been wonderful. All of the staff have time to talk to me they go into Dad's room and chat with him as he is unable now to join in activities. I'm kept informed on all changes and when doctors have visited and have regular updates. He has dementia. I can now leave and know he is safe and cared for. I cannot thank the manager and the staff enough.
My mother-in-law has settled in very well over the last few months and is now able to mostly attend the daily activities, which she enjoys. The events coordinator is very friendly and helpful and always has a smile on her face when I see her. There are varied activities and entertainment from outside groups that my mother-in-law really enjoys, I can see it on her face when I have been present too. Well done to the event coordinator.
My father had a very happy time at Oakmoor Lodge. He enjoyed the care and attention as well as having company and friendly people to talk to. Staff got to know my father and the whole family. We were so happy to know that he was safe and well cared for 24 hours a day. An added bonus was that Oakmoor Lodge has been thoughtfully designed and Dad had a wonderful room with a view which visitors always commented on. We only wish he had moved there much earlier!
Overall very good service and staff are very friendly and helpful. Cafe and area is brilliant and lovely to see activities daily. Overall, very impressive, lunchtime food could be better, but understand the difficulties. Perhaps more variety in food and chips.
Both my parents are at Oakmoor and have very different needs and the care they are receiving is excellent. The staff seem to be very aware as to what is going with all the residents and do their utmost to meet everyone's needs. The continuity of the staff is also very pleasing as it is easy for both residents and families to get to know each other, which I personally find very comforting, given the sometimes difficult circumstances. They are all caring, very friendly and helpful. The home itself is cosy and intimate and very well run. The managers are extremely approachable with any issues you want to discuss and the communication all round is excellent. As my parents can no longer manage at home, I am very happy that they are at Oakmoor which feels like a friendly hotel as opposed to a care home.
Very pleased we made decision for my mother-in-law to move into Oakmoor Lodge. Excellent care provided by friendly and compassionate staff who we have always found to keep us up to date. Clean and comfortable surroundings. Impressed with a daily schedule of activities where residents are encouraged to join. A nice safe environment.
Mum has been in Oakmoor since November 2023 and is very happy there. The staff are very caring and always have time to chat and discuss Mum's progress. They are diligent in responding to any questions I ask, and equally are proactive in communicating with me if, for example, Mum isn't feeling well and/or feedback from a doctor's visit. There is a varied and interesting activity programme that covers things like handicrafts, quizzes and celebrating a range of religious festivals.
