View Full Details of Overstone HouseMum moved in here in January 2024. We did not need to look anywhere else it felt right the moment we walked through the door. A wonderful warm atmosphere welcomes you into this modern spacious home. The care given by all members of staff and even 'behind the scenes' staff is far beyond what you expect. Mum described it as 'like being in a hotel being looked after by family'. She enjoyed the laughter and fun during her time here. It put us at ease knowing she was happy here. In her final days in December 2024, Mum and all the family were surrounded by love care and compassion from all the staff and could not be faulted. The coffee and cake offered is always a treat.
Overall, attention good, didn't need too much care but could get it if needed, I was here for respite. Staff were all pleasant, food was good.
The care at the home during December in my aunties last days was exemplary. She was treated with much love and dignity as were all the relatives that visited her at the home. She passed away in a safe, happy environment with all the family around her. She had been a resident for 18 months and had been very happy at Overstone House, the staff were very caring and loved having her around.
My mother passed away peacefully on December 18th at Overstone House. The care she received in the 19 months she was at the home was exemplary. The attention to detail awarded to mum was above and beyond our expectations. When it was obvious mums time was coming to an end the love and dedication from the whole team was very much felt and appreciated by the family. We cannot thank them enough for all they have done.
Mum and Dad spent their last few months at Overstone House, having moved from Leicester to be close to us. Others have spoken about the excellent facilities already, but what shines the most are the team of carers. They became so much more than that. They became not only Mum and Dad's extended family, but ours as well. We felt as cared for, and as looked after as Mum and Dad. Especially in their last days. We cannot thank our extended family enough.
My friends are a married couple and were both classed as bed-bound when admitted last September. The man is now back to normal physically and the woman is walking with carer assistance. The care they are receiving is amazing. I hope a new activities person will be appointed soon as that used to be brilliant. They are still receiving visits from the dog, entertainers, florist etc.
Mum has been a resident since January 2024. The day we looked around with mum, myself and my sister, thought that Overstone House is like a hotel for the elderly. The staff are caring and compassionate, and nothing is too much trouble. Communication is excellent and we know that should there be a problem, we would be contacted straight away. Mum loves to chat with the other residents or the staff who make time to talk to her. Anyone looking for a care home for their relative, in my opinion, would struggle to find a better one than Overstone House.
My mother was a resident here for just over two months. From day one, all of the staff went out of their way to help her feel comfortable as she settled in, and she was encouraged to join in with the many activities whenever she felt well enough to do so. As visitors, we were always greeted warmly and offered compassion and refreshments. Every member of the care team showed great empathy and kindness to all of us. The end-of-life care that was offered to my mother was exceptional in every aspect, and we are very pleased that we chose Overstone House.
Mum joined Overstone in October last year after a 2-week respite visit. She couldn't wait to go back. The reason it is called a care home is simply because every single member of staff cares so deeply about the welfare and happiness of the residents. As a family, we have been overwhelmed with the care, dignity and individualised attention Mum has received. From everyday activities to helping her get ready for an important family event, the staff have gone above and beyond what we could have imagined. Communication has been excellent and allowed us as a family to concentrate on spending quality time with Mum rather than having to worry about her every day. Every visitor has commented on how wonderful the environment is and how welcoming the staff have been. We would recommend Overstone House to anyone looking for the highest quality of care for a relative.
Staff always friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere is always great. The residents seem well looked after.
Every visit to see my father, the staff are extremely courteous and polite and friendly. Whilst visiting we are offered refreshments and privacy. It is always a friendly atmosphere and I know my father likes it here.
Mum has been a resident at Overstone House for over six months, and I am delighted at the level of care, support and dignity she is continually shown. She has really come out of her shell and joins in with many of the varied and interesting activities on offer. It is wonderful to see Mum smiling and enjoying herself, and when the family visit, we are made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff. I am so pleased that we chose Overstone House - Mum is incredibly well looked after and is thriving in the wonderful surroundings. I cannot thank all the staff enough for the ongoing care, attention and kindness they show her.
My stepdad went into respite here in August 2023 to give my mum a rest. I took her away to the seaside and she loved the break. At Overstone House the were wonderful. Special mention to two members of staff who were wonderful with him, they are very caring and friendly people. Would love to have the opportunity of him being here permanently when the time is right.
I cannot praise Overstone House enough. The level of care and attention the staff provide to the residents is above and beyond. The staff are friendly, patient and always attentive as well as welcoming to visitors. They have a range of activities for the residents to do and always encourage the residents to take part. My gran loves the regular haircuts and having her nails painted. The care home itself is well maintained with a lovely outside space and gardens. When I leave, I feel content knowing how well my Gran is looked after and that’s all you could ask for.
Having made several visits to see a friend, the home seems to be very efficient and well-staffed for the residents. Being a new build, all facilities seem first-class. My experience on the first visit was of very helpful staff to see my friend who had only been in the home seven days. First impressions of the home and staff were extremely good.
My mum, who has dementia, stayed at Overstone House for some respite care. What a fabulous place! They looked after her so well and I know she really enjoyed herself. It was her birthday while she was there and she was thoroughly spoiled - the chef baked her a special cake and she was treated like a queen! Mum even joined in some of the activities while she was there, which was wonderful to see, as she’s usually quite shy. When it came time to bring her home, she was sad to leave. The staff are simply fantastic - nothing was ever too much trouble and Mum was treated with so much care and compassion. We were a bit nervous about Mum going into respite care for the first time, but we needn’t have worried - and we wouldn’t hesitate to call on Overstone House again if we needed them.
Really nice facilities and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We are really pleased with our choice as Nan is happy.
Wow, what a fantastic place and people! From the minute you walk in, to going to see my uncle and leaving I received such a warm welcome. The residents are treated with such care, as if they are their own family. Also just blown away with all the smiles, help, friendly chat which allowed me to enjoy my visit to see my uncle. I was very impressed with the building, furnishing and car park. Highly recommended. Well done.
My father came to stay for respite care, he was unsettled and worried but the staff have been wonderful. They reassured him and he is settling well. As a family, we are confident he is in a safe and nurturing place and will thrive mentally and physically.
Excellent from the very first visit to the care and attention from all staff for my mum. Everyone has been kind and helpful to both my mum and our family.
