View Full Details of Parsons GrangeOur Nan has lived at Parsons Grange for a year now. She is so well looked after by genuinely caring staff and we all feel part of the Parsons family. We have the confidence that she's happy and comfortable and love the many activities and events that keep her engaged and stimulated. We recently celebrated Nanny's 91st birthday which was kindly hosted by Parsons Grange and a wonderful time was had by all.
My dad has been in Parsons Grange since July 24 now and we had reservations about him going into a home and how he and the family would cope, but the staff have been excellent and have made this journey smooth and comfortable for everyone involved. My dad now has a better social life then me with all the activities he does during the week!
My Mother moved to Parsons Grange 7 months ago just before her 100th Birthday Life at home was getting difficult and it was time to be looked after, after viewing a few homes we found Parsons Grange and immediately new this was the right one ,we could see that there was life in the home with residents walking about ,sitting in the garden and Bistro and also offered nursing care as being nearly 100 we thought this was the right option . It took a while to settle but now she is always looking happy and encouraged to join in the activities if any problem we are contacted immediately. The staff are all very caring and have time for the residents , food always looks delicious with plenty of alternatives on offer (she even looks like she has gained weight ) Loves having her nails and hair done and joining in with the Butterfly Buddies what is there not to like far safer and better than being at home on your own .Well done Parsons Grange !
It was an extremely hard decision for me to decide that my mother had to go into a Care Home but I could not have asked for better guidance and support from everyone at Parsons Grange. One member of staff in particular has been absolutely brilliant. It is a caring and nurturing environment and my mother always says how lovely everyone is. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
My mother(who had Dementia) became a resident at Parsons Grange in September 2023,and sadly passed away August 2024. During her time there, all of the staff were absolutely brilliant. From the very start, the lady in Sales was a fantastic help in guiding us through the whole process etc. and my mother settled in so well. We (my husband and I )have continued to stay friends with her and the rest of the staff since she passed away and even recently the home were kind enough to let us plant a beautiful yellow Shrub in their garden as a remembrance of her. She never once asked when am I going back to her home. She always thought the care home room that she was in was her home. We used to visit many times in a week, and when she eventually passed away the staff were magnificent in dealing with the situation and so sensitive towards us. We cannot thank all of the staff enough for looking after her. This home is a fantastic place and we would highly recommend this as a 5 star care home.
My sister has now been a dementia resident here for over two years. Her behaviour has deteriorated but all the staff without exception deal with her with infinite patience and care Today she was quite aggressive towards myself and staff immediately responded to calm her down Unfortunately she refuses to interact with any of the activities but there are so many things she could join in with
My husband has been in Parsons Grange for 3 years.I have found that the carers have always been most helpful and complete their tasks with a smile on their faces. If I have had any issues they have been dealt with in a timely manner.
Parsons Grange is an excellent care home and I'm very happy it is where mum calls home. Mum orginally came to Parsons for respite care following a long hospital stay. She quickly settled and with the care of the team, her physical health and mental well-being has improved. We've now made her move permanent and it's a huge relief to know mum is looked after and importantly, feels safe and at home. The team put a lot of effort into putting on a weekly schedule of activities and special events. There is always a hot meal available at both lunch and dinner, an alternative menu, and snacks and drinks available throughout the day that residents can help themselves to, which is great for mum. The staff work hard and are friendly. If you ever have any worries, they will make the time to listen to you. The customer relations manager, has been incredibly supportive and is a real asset to the home. She is clearly valued by all the residents too.
The support we received to facilitate moving my mother to the home was brilliant. The care team are really proactive and I know that she is being really well looked after. A lovely friendly environment with plenty to do. The staff are really welcoming and responsive to requests.
As a family we were very unsure as to how Dad would settle into a care home. His stroke and Alzheimers left him unable to communicate very well and he was very depressed. Since moving into Parsons Grange he has found his smile, laugh and voice again. He is now calm and peaceful and often says "ooo it's very nice here isn't it". All of the staff are lovely, friendly and approachable and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere about it. We visit Dad whenever we are able and we all really enjoy a cup of tea and cake/pastry in the cafe area. The activities ladies work really hard to make sure everyone has an opportunity to join in with different activities or trips out. The choice and quality of food looks great too. So pleased we chose Parsons Grange for our lovely Dad.
This is the most beautiful care home I have ever visited and the staff create a relaxing environment- regardless of their hard work they always appear relaxed. I have worked in a variety of styles of care homes and this home exceeds all standards and expectations I had previously for care facilities.
A particular member of staff was very helpful today, she helped us do some paperwork and reassured us, that my dad was in the right place. My dad is very settled and happy there. Very helpful staff. There are always activities for them to do and lovely places to sit and have a cuppa with loved ones.
My elderly mother moved to Parsons Grange following the death of my father and a subsequent hospital admission. It was a major change for her moving to a new area and a new way of living. She was very anxious and at times confused. Mum was initially in the nursing section (staff did a great job in helping blisters on her legs heal) but then moved to residential where she has benefited from a more social environment. The staff have been great at providing reassurance and trying to engage her with activities- she particularly enjoys it when the children come in. Most of the staff are very caring and take time to chat with Mum. Visiting has been a pleasure and I have been welcomed when joining in activities with Mum, sometimes staying for lunch. Mum is gradually adjusting, making friends and physically getting stronger. It was a big decision to move Mum from her beloved seaside home to be nearer family, the care given at PG has reassured us that this is the right place for Mum now.
Parsons Grange is excellent in every way. My partner was a resident in Parsons and received such good care, especially end of life. All the staff were so kind, thoughtful and caring. We could not have wished for better care. Not only did they take excellent care of him but they really looked after me and my daughter. The Customer Relations Manager was exceptional and still is. I now volunteer at Parsons, which I love.
My mother has been at Parsons Grange for nine months, in Hardy suite. She is settled and happy and joins in with many activities in the home. The staff are excellent. They care for her so well and always with kindness and a friendly smile. Nothing is too much trouble. I asked my mother what she thought of Parsons Grange and her immediate response was 'brilliant!'. The meals are delicious and varied and the lifestyle team work hard to provide a range of different activities both in the home and on trips out. She has been on several trips including a visit to the indoor greenhouse tropical rainforest and a day trip to the seaside. The staff liaise closely with the family and any worries or concerns are dealt with promptly. Parsons Grange is a relatively new purpose-built home so accessibility to all parts of the home is easy. It has a delightful garden used extensively for activities and enjoying sunny weather. Finally, every time I visit the home, our decision to choose Parsons Grange is reaffirmed.
Parsons Grange is all that I would want for my Mum and more than I expected. Having researched more than a dozen nursing homes in Berkshire, we settled on Parsons Grange following an initial meeting and tour with the Customer Relationship Manager, when I was struck by the care and genuine interest that she showed for our situation despite not yet having met Mum. That warmth has been mirrored by all of the staff in the home, from senior nurses to carers and activities and maintenance staff, and has not diminished over the 3 months that Mum has lived there. Everyone engages in such a special way with the residents. The environment and furnishings are lovely and the home is well maintained. Food is of a high standard with nutritious 3-course meals offered twice a day as well as a cooked breakfast. There is a range of daily activities for those who wish to join. Staff are vigilant and I feel reassured that Mum is safe and her medical and emotional needs are well met. Highly recommended!
Mum has been at Parsons Grange for nearly 2 years. Her sister is a recent resident at another Care UK home in Newbury. Both have dementia and have not seen each other for a year. I wanted to express our thanks for the incredible effort and care you put into arranging the visit for Mum to see her sister in another Care UK home based in Newbury on her birthday. The staff at both homes went above and beyond our expectations, making the entire experience very special. The joy on their faces when they reunited was priceless, and it was a moment we will cherish forever. Special thanks to two carers in particular for your dedication and kindness that made a significant difference in making it such a special day and the very many others that helped support. Thank you once again for your exceptional care and for making this special visit possible. Warm regards.
My Mum has been a resident of Parsons Grange for well over 2 years now. She has Alzheimer's and needs constant care. I have found all of the staff at Parsons Grange throughout this time to be very friendly, patient, caring, and welcoming. My Mum is comfortable and content in her surroundings and it gives me great peace of mind to know she is consistently well looked after. The rooms and lounge where most of her time is spent are very nicely furnished, her room is a good size, light and airy, and with a good ensuite toilet and shower. I would have no hesitation in recommending Parsons Grange as a safe, caring place for a loved one.
My husband has Alzheimer's disease and has been a resident of Parsons Grange for nearly 2 years. The care he receives there is very good and all the staff there are excellent. I always feel welcomed as a visitor and my husband is happy and settled.
My husband went to Parsons Grange this August for 2 weeks respite care. I was very apprehensive as we had a bad experience 2 years ago at a different care home. The experience at Parsons was totally different, the staff were so caring and helpful, a lovely atmosphere where I felt happy to leave my husband while I went for a holiday. I would highly recommend the place, everyone is made to feel at ease and welcomed.
