View Full Details of Pilling Nursing HomeMy mother was cared for with kindness and compassion at the nursing home. The staff are efficient, professional and the home is well run. We are so grateful that her admission was expedited to allow her access to nursing care and that the home looked after her and us, her family, so well when she was discharged from hospital for end-of-life care. If anyone is looking for residential nursing care they can do no better than Pilling Nursing Home.
Since the arrival of my father, I have been very impressed with the service provided by Pilling Nursing Home. It has been an exemplary level of service they provide. The 24 hour care provided, looking after the medicine and pain relief and organising oxygen supply - when transition from hospital was sadly lacking. They took on his case and have turned him around. He is now able to walk and not in pain and has had a complete turnaround.
My grandma was not in the Nursing Home for long. However, the time she spent there was brilliant! The care she received was second to none. Each staff member was always so delightful and very accommodating! My grandma had dementia, however, sadly passed away from other complications that quickly took a turn for the worse. We will be forever grateful for the team at Pilling Nursing Home, who really went above and beyond to get Grandma back home from hospital to spend her last few days in comfort and with her family around her. Thanks again for everything you all did!
My mother-in-law was only in the nursing home for a few weeks before she sadly passed away. She absolutely loved being in the home and being a social butterfly herself loved the company of the other clients and staff. The love and care she received were second to none, especially in her last few days. We can't thank the Pilling Nursing Home staff enough, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was treated with love and dignity. The one thing that really impressed us was it didn't have that horrible smell you sometimes get in a nursing home. Well done to the team.
Every member of staff from cleaners to management, treats my wife as a resident, and myself as a visitor with the utmost respect and cheerfulness. I cannot thank all of them enough.
My husband has been at Pilling Nursing Home prior to lockdown. He is well cared for, warm, clean and well-fed. Although he is very limited in what he can do, the team are so very caring and have a great connection with him. I mentioned how he used to love to watch the birds in our garden when he was home and the following visit, he had bird pictures on the walls of his room. The peace of mind that Pilling Nursing Home give me is immense.
My husband has been a resident for quite some time, and I am so happy with the standard of care he receives, as my mind is at rest when I leave him. The staff are so kind and patient with him and at times his behaviour has been very challenging. There is a lovely atmosphere within the home where everyone is treated with respect, whether they are residents or visitors. It is like one big happy family. My husband's room is perfect for him and the staff make it feel like home. To sum up I would be devastated if he had to leave Pilling Nursing Home.
My wife has been a resident at Pilling Nursing Home for almost six years and during that time she has received an exceptional level of care. This could not have been easy during the Covid pandemic and resulting lock down. Two former homes “washed their hands of her” when she became very aggressive owing to her dementia. At Pilling, management find ways to minimise such problems, while still ensuring residents maintain their dignity and well being. At present, my wife appears to be calm, happy and content, which I feel reflects the love, care and attention she receives from every single member of staff. A very big “Thank You” from me to everyone involved with looking after my wife.
Overall excellent experience, wonderful care provided to my mother and extended to my father when visiting. Welcoming and compassionate. Very highly motivated staff who embody "the right attitude" and seem to genuinely care about the residents so appear to be extremely well lead with a good working environment.
I could not be happier with the care and support received from Pilling Nursing Home. My dad was transferred from another care home where he was bed bound, not eating, barely awake, not engaging with anybody and he weighed a mere 54kg, he was classed as end-of-life care. Since coming to Pilling Nursing Home he has gained more than 10kg in weight, he is eating and drinking independently, he is out of bed in the communal area every day and is now able to walk again! He has regained a good quality of life, me and the rest of the family couldn’t be happier! Pilling Nursing Home really go the extra mile they even set up a date for my mum and dad on one of her visits with a private meal, chocolates and flowers. Staff are lovely and really go the extra mile!
My dad was said to be end of life. He is now talking and taking steps with help. Done a full U-turn. This place is helping him live the last years of his life happily and comfortably. The team are exceptional.
Mum went into Pilling after a stay in hospital. From the very first contact with Pilling Nursing Home, the staff could not have been more helpful, particularly the operations manager! Mum was discharged from the hospital directly into the home. When I went up the following week, it was with some trepidation that I met Mum in the private visiting lounge and explained that she would not be able to go back home. I was relieved to hear her say “that’s OK, I love it here, everybody is really lovely”. Mum’s statement really sums up Pilling Nursing Home, the place itself is lovely and welcoming, the main lounge is light and bright, and there is a delightful conservatory looking out onto an attractive garden area. Mum’s room is bright and airy and overlooks the garden. All the staff I have dealt with have been very caring and have a wonderful rapport with all the residents, not just my Mum. I live 250 miles and four hours away, so knowing that Mum is somewhere safe, where she is happy and well-cared for, gives me peace of mind.
This care home is excellent. All staff are completely professional and have been extremely kind to my lovely mother, who has Parkinson's and Dementia. Importantly, they communicate with my family whenever there is even a slight change in my Mum's behaviour and so we feel very safe and included in her overall care. The Manager and her team should be massively commended on how they are caring for our most vulnerable, especially during these very challenging times.
My father has resided in Pilling Nursing Home since April 2021 after several other homes failed to meet his needs and deal with his challenging behaviour. Before his admission, I contacted the home and for the first time in two months, I was listened to. The management is fantastic, nothing seems to phase them and I absolutely take my hat off to the way the staff have cared and supported my father to date. Staffing levels seem adequate, staff are friendly and the home-cooked meals look great! It’s peace of mind to know my father is being well cared for and kept safe. I honestly can’t thank the staff enough and I highly recommend this home.
My father became a resident following a short stay in hospital. He suffered from Dementia and Alzheimer's and his condition had deteriorated suddenly. He became aggressive and delusional. From the minute he arrived at Pilling Nursing Home we knew he was in safe and caring hands. We were in daily phone contact, they were open and honest at all times and reassuring. They kept us informed of the medication changes to help manage his condition, his routines, who was caring for him, how he was responding and his overall health. As a family we knew how extremely challenging his behaviour had become but we could see (from window visits and calls) how he was responding to the care of the staff and becoming more manageable. In the short period he stayed with them we felt that the staff had become like extended family and it was clear to us how much they cared for him. All staff are professional, caring, supportive and I would strongly recommend this home to anyone considering care for their loved ones.
The staff team within Pilling Nursing Home are excellent they are responsive and proactive towards need ensuring care is of an individualised plan. It is apparent to see this from the moment you walk in it’s like “one big family”. There is always something going on for residents to interact, it certainly is a fantastic home!
The care my husband's grandma received in this home was excellent which was evidenced in the fact that she was very happy during her time here. Despite being continually busy with very varied challenges, the staff were always happy, patient and kind towards the residents. The home was kept clean and smelt fresh whenever I visited. Residents were provided with appetising in-house cooked meals and snacks and visitors had the option to join with their resident friend/relative at mealtimes if desired. The level of nursing care provided was excellent with high levels of professionalism. I witnessed varied activities being provided for residents and although our grandma was unable to participate much she had the enjoyment of watching others.
My father, who was suffering from Alzheimers, spent his final months of life here and the standard of care and support was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all so kind and considerate. The facilities, food and entertainment for the residents was first class. My father was treated with great respect and dignity as are all the residents. The family was always made to feel welcome when we visited, the manager and staff always went the extra mile. The nursing care/provision was delivered in a very gentle and sympathetic manner. The rooms were excellent and the cleanliness of the home could not be faulted. Placing any relative in a nursing home can be traumatic but I can honestly say this nursing home is brilliant.
Staff and manager are very pleasant and always helpful. The accommodation is very clean and meals excellent. Nursing care is very well managed by the staff always. I have seen great improvements over the past few months with more activities and objects to view by residents. They all seem to have settled well.
My mum has Alzheimer's and had become aggressive which was totally out of character. Since coming to Pilling Nursing Home she has returned to her sweet, loving nature. She sits in the lounge smiling and says "It is lovely here, isn't it?" The staff have made an effort to get to know the person behind the condition, finding out what her interests were and tailoring their approach to her individual needs and personality. All members of staff make the time to stop and smile or have a chat as they go past. Instead of simply reacting to the inevitable Alzheimers mood swings they anticipate difficult situations, read the signs and divert attention, thus avoiding the distress and frustration which had taken hold of mum before she arrived at Pilling Nursing Home. This level of care is priceless. Each time I visit I come away happy in the knowledge that mum is being looked after by people who want the best for her and will do all they can to make her happy as well as looking after her physical needs.
