View Full Details of Potton ViewWell what can I say, called to them to help my mum as she was struggling and from the very beginning the care team have gone above and beyond any care we would have expected. Right from the start the team have been exceptionally kind and caring. I would like to extend my sincere thanks particularly to the 3 members of staff for making her comfortable in her final days. I would highly recommend this home. Thanks all.
After reading reviews for this care home, I took the plunge and got in touch for some respite care for my father-in-law whilst we go on holiday. From our first point of contact with the manager and a staff member, my mind was made up, and booked him in. He wasn't keen to go but once he visited he felt reassured. I can honestly say that they are so very kind to the residents who live there but also reassuring to us too, especially when my father-in-law had a fall within 2 days of being there, which was just an unfortunate accident that could have happened at home, but was handled extremely well and organised the district nurse for helping his wound to heal. When I collected him, he couldn't wait to tell me how well he had been treated, how the girls had helped him shower, and how the food had been wonderful and even mentioned the maintenance guy had come in to let him know when football was on and helped him to sort the right channel to watch it on. Thank you.
Mum moved into Potton View during a lockdown in March 2021 - which had made visiting care homes impossible. Mum liked the look from outside as it looks more like a large bungalow, rather than a care home. Mum has been well cared for during the last 3 and half years at Potton View. There have been many activities for her to join in with, if she wished. She enjoyed the food. We have been invited to various family events too. Initially she had a small room but moved to a much lighter and larger room overlooking the large garden, which she enjoyed looking at. Sadly due to ill health Mum is no longer with us but the staff have been there for Mum, from housekeeping, maintenance, carers, cooks/chefs, night staff, at the times I couldn't be and for this I am grateful.
As soon as my grandmother went in she was immediately welcome. Her room was spotless, and we were allowed to decorate it as we wished, the staff said, this is her home, she could decorate how she wanted. The staff couldn't be more helpful, any request that my nan needed was never too much trouble. She was spoilt for food choice, choosing to have a poached egg every morning for breakfast because she could. I could honestly go on about how wonderful it is, but it such a wonderful place. And visitors are always welcome, the staff and other residents taking the time out to say hello. Special shoutout to the boss, (the dog) who is always up for a fuss.
We found visiting Mum really reassuring, Mum is in the best place for her, where the care is excellent. She seems very happy and comfortable bless her. My mind and my children's minds are at ease now knowing mum/nanna is in a safe place and very happy.
My grandmother has been fully independent up until the last 6 months and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to move her into a home. The staff, down to the lovely guys in the kitchen and the ladies who clean the rooms, even the handyman have made her feel so welcome! Nothing is too much trouble for them. They listen to every concern we have as a family (which has nothing to do with the home! More to do with us letting go of Nan!). Nan's room is beautiful and bright and she has been allowed to do as she wants in there because as the staff keep saying, it's her home now. The food is stunning! The activities Nan are now in give her a better social life than me! The communication between staff and family is second to none! We genuinely could not have found a better place for Nan to go and live out her best life and the staff are true angels. They do not get enough praise for what they do. Each and every one of them. I couldn't wish for more for my nanna.
I have been a resident in the Potton View Care Home since 1st August 2023 (6 months). I feel it necessary to go on record about my experience. Not knowing quite what to expect, I have enjoyed myself and felt no loss of independence and have been treated with dignity and kindness at all times. I feel a sense of relief and gratitude. Looking forward to the future in this community.
Since Mum went to Potton View in August, I can only say I have been so impressed with the care she has received. She is so much better in herself, putting weight on with the regular and nutritious meals. She says she considers herself to be very lucky - high praise indeed. I was very worried I was letting her down by "putting" her in a home, but I am now 100% certain I made the right choice and can leave after visits with peace of mind.
The home is a friendly place. All the staff speak to you. It is always clean. When we went to the Xmas party (22/12/23), there was music, magic and a lovely table full of food. The staff were all happy to help anyone who needed it. My mum enjoyed herself, as did we. The family are so happy that Mum is in the home, as we think that she wouldn't get the care she needs anywhere else.
Christmas party at Potton View yesterday was a joyous occasion. It had a lovely atmosphere and everyone - staff, residents and visitors seem to enjoy it. Excellent buffet, magic show and musician too. Great to see the different generations interacting together. Dad is very happy at Potton View. Staff are caring and kind. Food is excellent. I visit several times a week and always feel welcome and have no concerns. Thank you.
My mother has been cared for very well and at times when she needs encouragement is given this especially with eating. I am very happy with everything at Potton View and cannot thank staff enough for the change in Mum since moving there. I now can have quality time with Mum and a lot less stress, but have faith that she is safe and happy which is all I ever wanted for her. She loves vocalists and entertainment when they visit and enjoys joining in with group activities. Thank you Potton View!
The wonderful staff at Potton View have helped to make our mum's difficult move to a care home a happy experience for us all. Mum has settled well, enjoys the activities and has made some lovely friends. The staff are always so approachable and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. There is a good choice of activities each day, and Mum eats well, enjoying every meal. Our stepfather will be joining Mum at Potton View very soon.
The staff and management of this care home are very friendly and approachable. They go out of their way to be very helpful towards the residents and families from day one. From visiting the home and been showed around, my mum's room looked very clean and comfortable. We can not praise all the staff enough for all their hard work, especially the lady who showed us around and made us feel welcome from day one. The food looks lovely, and my mum really enjoys the choices she is offered. We are very pleased with everything.
My parents moved into Potton View together in November 2021. From the beginning, they were given the kindest and most sensitive care. Sadly, my father passed away (aged 95) earlier this year; since then my mother has been cared for most attentively and is very contentedly settled at the home. The management and staff are excellent and all the carers are kind and thoughtful. My sister and I live some distance away and are hugely reassured to know that Mum is in such good hands. Could not recommend it more highly.
Very homely, staff always good and extremely friendly.
Excellent, caring staff and modern, high-quality facilities. Very friendly and supportive environment. Food is fine but sometimes a bit bland. Could do with a wider range of activities and a news update email would be welcome. Would recommend.
The staff are just wonderful and take very good care of my mother-in-law. The management has improved since the new manager took over. Communication has improved too. Walking into Potton View doesn't feel like walking into an institution. It feels much more homely. One observation, residents are offered a lot of sweet things during the day which isn't very healthy.
Always greeted with a smile and courtesy. Confident my mother is in safe hands, well-fed and cared for to the highest of standards.
Our mum recently became a resident and despite the challenging times, she has settled in well and all the staff have provided mum with kindness, support and care. Her room is clean, and she is encouraged to make use of all the residential facilities which include an onsite hairdresser and nail salon. Activities are plentiful and even though mum is unable to tell us about them, due to her dementia, we have photos that show her smiling and taking part in everything. We would fully recommend Potton View. Covid measures are strictly followed, which we are most grateful for, in protecting us and our family members. We are very much looking forward to restrictions being lifted so more family members can visit mum in her new home.
What a lovely home! Caring staff, beautiful surroundings and lovely atmosphere. Covid has meant I haven't been able to visit as often but it's good to know that they are all being kept as safe as possible. Couldn't wish for more for my friend that is there.
