View Full Details of Prideaux ManorA welcoming friendly place, non judgemental and caring atmosphere. Kind staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
The staff worked hard to ensure the spirit of Christmas was enjoyed throughout the house. The Christmas trees and decorations looked really festive and gave the residents and their families a welcoming place to be at Christmas.
I can't praise Prideaux Manor and its staff enough. I was recommended the care home by a very good friend. Our mother has dementia and sadly we lost my dad in 2023. Mum was at home having carers come in, which was becoming increasingly difficult and she was lonely. From the first phone call with a particular member of staff, she made us feel welcome. We visited twice before Mum moved in. It is without doubt the best decision we could've made. From the staff to the food and activities. It's warm inviting and feels just like home. It took about four days for Mum to settle in. I would give it ten stars if you could. It's taken so much pressure away from us knowing that my mum is so well looked after.
The care staff do a wonderful job considering my mother is "challenging". The staff are always easy to talk to and keep me updated on how my mother has been between my visits and are welcoming and caring. It is not easy to care for my mother as her dementia and Alzheimer's has got worse and she can sometimes be aggressive and refuse personal care but the staff do their utmost to do what they can. They have also tried several times to encourage my mother to get involved in events even though she prefers to stay in her room and watch TV. The manager has put several things in place to deal with the smell of urine due to my mother refusing her personal care such as an air freshener and purifier as well as deep cleaning her room when ever she goes to the hospital for which they organise a taxi and a carer for her weekly trip to the hospital for podiatry. I feel very reassured that my mother is being cared for in the best way possible as her dementia progresses.
I am very happy with the home and feel reassured that Dad is very well cared for. The carers have a real understanding of dementia and treat every resident with utmost respect, they all have so much patience and often have to deal with difficult situations which they do very calmly and they remain unphased by it. They are also very friendly chatting with me when I visit and always offering tea and coffee. The activity leader works very hard to involve the residents in games, which can be quite a task to get Dad involved but he does enjoy it when he joins in. The special events party's are also well enjoyed with the Chef putting on a lovely spread for all. The place is always kept spotlessly clean and Dad always looks smart in his freshly laundered clothes. Overall we are so pleased we chose Prideaux Manor which has a nice homely family feel to it which was lacking in more of the larger plush homes we looked at.
Wonderful care home. Staff are amazing. The home is clean and welcoming. Residents are happy, well cared for and engaged. Rooms comfortable and homely. Lots for residents to do with great activities. Family are welcomed and nothing is too much trouble.
My husband has been in Prideaux Manor for six months. Having viewed several homes we chose this one as it is quite small but very friendly and as he wanders about at night felt that here he would be safe, which he has been. We can't fault the staff who are all amazing, he is always well looked after, his clothes are nicely washed and ironed, and the home itself is always clean and odour free. The entertainment coordinator is fantastic, always trying to get the residents involved with games, cooking etc which is a challenge at times but she perseveres. The patience of the staff is outstanding and nothing seems to phase them. We are always welcomed at any time of the day, being offered tea/coffee as soon as we arrive. My husband is a fussy eater and doesn't like mashed potato which seems to be offered most days, but appreciate the chef must be on a budget, but is very obliging and often offers him an alternative. We are confident that he is in the right place for his own safety.
My mother has lived in this care home since December 2023. She's always treated with respect and kindness. It is so comforting to myself and my brother to know that my mother is fully engaged and well looked after. If I have any concerns I can raise them with the staff straightaway and they will ensure they are acted upon. I am more than happy that my mother is in this home. In fact, I have recommended this home to other people who have been in a situation where they've needed to find a care home for their relative. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.
Absolutely fantastic care home all-round. Caring, attentive staff. Clean accommodation. Well-managed and great communication. They never stop being helpful and accommodating. Nothing is too much to ask for. Really feel welcome at every visit. Very grateful and relieved that Nana got to spend her last few months here.
Excellent day. Super food and entertainment. Well done to the staff and helpers. A very happy afternoon. Our resident is very happy and well looked after. We look forward to the next function. Parking our car was difficult to find a free space.
I can’t recommend the team at Prideaux Manor enough - Mum has been there since the end of February. Due to her Alzheimer’s she was understandably very unsettled with the initial change in environment, and the team have worked so hard to help her settle. They have involved myself and my dad to keep us updated and work out a plan for Mum together. The home is a lovely, clean, bright and welcoming environment. The staff are so kind and friendly and engage with the residents and treat them with respect and dignity. All of the residents look happy and well cared for. There is a lovely programme of activities and a nice sunny outdoor space for the summer months.
I cannot speak highly enough about Prideaux Manor, from the first minute my dad arrived there they made him feel welcome, nothing was ever too much for them and they made him feel at home, which was something we had worried about before he went there. It was good to see him taking part in the activities with a smile on his face!
I really cannot express just how grateful my brother and I are for the wonderful care and support of our dad. All the staff, without exception, have been so supportive and caring of my father and in return, the joy they have brought him since he has been in their care means that my brother and I feel a weight has been lifted off our shoulders knowing that he is safe and happy. I really cannot recommend Prideaux Manor enough for someone that you love.
My mother is a resident, and she receives excellent care and attention from the staff. The atmosphere in the home is welcoming, warm and cheerful. I live abroad, and phone every other day to speak to Mum. The staff are always happy to go up the flights of stairs so that Mum and I can have a chat. The manager is happy to spend time talking to me over the phone about Mum's care and condition and is always honest and reassuring. All in all, I am delighted with the care that Mum gets from everyone at Prideaux Manor.
Amazing staff and management. Nothing too much trouble. Thank you all for his ten months with you.
The staff made a wonderful effort to give the residents a great Christmas experience. Lovely decorations, an amazing part with mountains of food, jokes and fun. Outside Christmas, a brilliant selection of games and exercises. Overall and most importantly, great care and laughter.
The staff and management are very friendly and have done everything they can to make my mum comfortable and happy in the home. Mum loves all the staff etc. Would definitely recommend the home to friends and family.
My mother-in-law came to Prideaux Manor in August 2023 for respite and she enjoyed it and decided to become a full-time resident. She loves the staff and the activities that are provided plus she feels safe and secure in the home. I like to visit her here more than I did in her old flat, which did not provide her with any safety.
Mum enjoys her time at Prideaux Manor. They held a Christmas Party on Sunday the 10th of December and it was very well attended and Mum was very happy which I haven't seen in a very long time as she was isolated in her old home. Overall the staff and management are excellent and provide all the facilities that Mum needs. I feel very happy knowing that Mum is well looked after.
My father has been a resident only for a few weeks but has been treated with nothing but kindness and respect. When I visit we are welcomed by everyone residents and staff alike. I am very happy with the care my father receives.
