View Full Details of Primrose HousePrimrose House is a beautiful care home based in Brough. It feels like a high standard hotel and is always immaculately clean however for us as a family it was very disappointing. My mother in law was served notice from her previous care home due to her increasingly challenging dementia behaviour, Primrose House assured us after visiting her to assess her behaviour they would be able to provide the care she needed. Sadly 10 months later this has not happened and yet again she has been served notice. We have moved her to a home that provides mild, moderate and complex dementia care but the actual move was traumatic both for her and the family.
My 95 year old mother transferred from Wiltshire to Yorkshire recently. Her health has deteriorated which meant we needed to find accommodation suitable for her needs and under the care of our doctors. Primrose House staff and management have not only supported my mother they have also supported my sister and husband who travelled from Wiltshire because my mother was not expected to last. During this distressing time, we have received kindness and good counsel to the extent that we are unable to find the words to thank them enough. Without exception, the staff and management at Primrose House are professional in their approach with empathy and kindness at every moment. We cannot fault them, they are wonderful. The activities are brilliant, from exercises to crafting, there is never a dull moment. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, cleanliness is a priority and care paramount. We looked at several homes and I am so happy we decided on this one. Mum is now on the mend thanks to them.
We needed to put my mum in emergency respite care, and from the first call, all the staff at Primrose House were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Their prompt and compassionate response reassured us that Mum would be well cared for, and indeed, she settled in very quickly within just a few days. We explored several care homes in the area with the intention of finding a permanent place for Mum, and Primrose House stood out as the best, by far. The quality of the food is excellent, and the facility is always clean and well-maintained. The staff show great care and dedication to the residents, following care plans meticulously and providing personalised attention. Overall, Primrose House has exceeded our expectations in every aspect. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment for their loved ones.
My mother has lived at Primrose House for over a year. We have found the care, love and understanding a great support, Not just for Mum but for the family. This is a rocky road for everyone dealing with Alzheimer's and dementia. Primrose House is five-star, food , care , stimulation. I wouldn't want anything less for my mum! We are happy to recommend this place, covers everything you could possibly need for your family.
My mother has been a resident in PH for just over a year. From our very first contact, we were impressed by the managers and all of the staff. They were superb in helping me out with great advice and support at quite a difficult time. I could not have asked for more. I knew from first entering PH that this would be the home my mother would transfer to. Her short-term stay in a previous home went very well but I needed somewhere nearer so I could visit more easily. The place always has a friendly feel upon entering reception with a warm welcome. The facilities are superb and the whole building is kept beautifully clean. The care staff engages with the residents and there is always something happening to provide stimulation and excitement. Visitors are made extremely welcome at any time and staff are extremely friendly at all times. I have been kept very well informed of any concerns relating to my mother and I certainly have peace of mind that she is extremely well looked after. Thank you.
An outstanding care home with genuinely caring staff, a lovely atmosphere, plenty of activities, and welcoming to visitors and residents alike. My mother feels secure and has been much happier since she moved into the home earlier this year.
The manager and the team consistently go out of their way to make my dad's stay at Primrose Brough enjoyable and stimulating. My dad sees it as his home now, the staff treat him as a friend and look after his every need. It's a lovely place for him to live.
My mum has been a resident here for some time now and I can't fault the care which she has been given by all the care staff, and management which at times must have been quite difficult for them. The care staff have all been very caring and understanding and have listened to any concerns we have had with Mum. The activities the home provides are outstanding along with the meals provided. We are always made to feel very welcome and part of the team. There are always going to be the odd problems but these are resolved professionally and with care and consideration.
My dad moved from another care home to Primrose House and I noticed a change in his mood straight away he is much happier. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is always something going on at Primrose House plenty of activities for the residents. The food is excellent we had a family Christmas meal last year it was so delicious we have booked again.
Having visited Primrose House last week my wife and I were keen to move my mum from her care home where she has been living for the past 4 years as quickly as possible even though she is diagnosed with Parkinson's, Dementia, and Atrial Fibrillation. This was a big move for us but the Care Home Manager and his staff made our experience very much more comfortable. The facilities at the care home are amazing but it's not what attracted us the most, it was the people who were going to care for my mum. The service users all seemed so happy and content, engaged with a whole raft of activities. The staff were equally as happy and engaged. This was all witnessed during a visit which was not prearranged. During the last few days, we received great support with finance, transfer arrangements, planning, and above all reassurance that my mum would transfer successfully and would receive the care and stimulation she needed. It is only day one but they have been true to their word, and we are so grateful.
We have just moved our lovely mother-in-law into Primrose after looking last week. We saw the manager on the first day who has been fantastic in sorting the care and has a true passion for this amazing place along with his whole team. My mum-in-law had such a lack of stimulation in her previous care home, that she was not looked after half as much as she had been on her first day here at Primrose. Her clothes have a special tag so they know they're hers, the small but special touches, the personal care plan, the activities, the love. We know everything is wonderful already and we have definitely made the right choice. We cannot thank the whole team enough, they know her already and she's part of the family. Thank you.
Excellent service all the best from the initial assessment through the full 2 weeks of respite. Despite being at short notice. All the staff are kind, friendly, caring, and efficient. Activities were many and varied meals to told were very good.
I felt so impressed with the kindness, care, and attention given to my friends who stayed as a couple for a 2 week respite break. All standards were maintained to the highest levels, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this house to anyone.
Wow. Primrose House Care Home is fabulous. The care and support my Mum and us as a family have received is first-class. All members of staff go above and beyond to ensure our Mum's needs are met with utmost professionalism and dignity. It is like being part of one big family.
Dad arrived August 24 at Primrose House for end-of-life care. Right from the beginning, Dad was treated with respect, dignity and the best care the family could have wished for. We thank all the staff and management for all their help. We could not have wished for more.
This was my first visit to Primrose House in Brough and we, my husband and I, were so impressed with every aspect of this care home. Everything was perfect.
Visited a friend of the family. Good atmosphere with lots going on for people to be involved in if they want to.
This was my third time at Primrose House and it was very good, staff are brilliant, looked after my wife and myself, never too much trouble to help day and night.
I have been incredibly impressed with the care that my grandma has received over the year that she was in residence. The staff have been warm and caring, not only to her but also to myself and other visitors she has had. The room was always spotless and warm. Care staff were always quick to respond to the buzzer! The care and respect given to my grandma at the end of her life was more than could be asked for. This was true as well to us as family following her passing. An amazing place!
From the beginning the staff were/are incredibly respectful and welcoming. I have always seen them treat my grandmother with respect. The rooms and full facility is clean and spotless. The food is some of the best I've seen.
