Welcoming atmosphere. The lovely staff and management were clear about what care my Dad would be receiving. My Dad will not be here for too long, but I am sure he will be cared for.
Mum has been in here for a few months now and I cannot fault the care she has been given and the staff who work here. She was fed extremely well, her hygiene was looked after and her dignity was kept at all times. Really happy she is so comfortable here.
I am very pleased with the service provided here. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. The venue is very clean. The care provided is good. The food is fabulous - great portions and variety! Thank you to everyone who works so hard.
The home has been great since Mum had to go in late October. Support from both care staff and nurses has been great and we have never been concerned she isn't in good hands. The hygiene is done effectively and with dignity. The food is great and varied. Without having her home we know she's in the best place with the kind of care we would want her to have.
The staff here are lovely they really have taken good care of her since she arrived. Mum has a lovely room and is cleaned and checked regularly. Mum is unable to get out of bed and has end-stage dementia she has really settled here and seems happy which is all we can ask for as a family.
I am really pleased with the care given to my mother. The staff are excellent and work very hard, they are kind, caring and professional. The meals are of a good standard and varied. Communication is very good and the cleanliness of the home is very good. Overall I am very happy with this nursing home.
Happy with care despite not many staff being on each shift. Staff work hard and are responsive to needs to the best of their abilities and capacity. Food seems nice with appropriate choice. Reasonable portions.
My Mum came into the care home in November 2024. She was quite unwell and had difficulties with mobilities, speech, and eating. All the staff made her feel welcome and took good care of her. This care was extended to my Father who came to visit and stayed by my mum's side for most of the time. The staff including the nursing staff and carers went above and beyond to care for my Mum and were compassionate to all my family at the end of her life.
My wife was referred to Cordes Court due to late-stage dementia, and the inability to feed herself and take care of herself. The care she is receiving is of a high standard and I couldn't ask for more. Any queries are answered immediately as are any concerns.
Great staff and very caring. The manager is very helpful and supportive. She is absolutely great and exceptionally helpful and understanding.
My friend has been living in Rakewood House at Cavders Court for a while now and I can't say enough about the excellent care they provide. The staff are genuinely attentive and always friendly and they go out of their way to make sure everyone feels at home. The facilities are clean, well-monitored and comfortable. They offer a range of engaging activities that my friend enjoys. It's reassuring to know they are in a safe, warm, and compassionate environment where their needs are consistently met. I would highly recommend Rakewood House to anyone seeking quality care and peace of mind for their loved one.
Mum has been a resident at Rakewood since 2016 and the care she has received has been brilliant. The staff are all caring, polite, kind, and thoughtful with good communication and the home itself is clean, and warm with a lovely homely lounge and plenty of entertainment and activities for the residents. Mum has always been treated with respect and dignity along with good care. Thank you Rakewood!
My Grandma has been very well looked after. All the carers are very pleasant, caring, and always there to help.
I find all the staff and nurses are very helpful and go out of their way to make Mum as comfortable as they can. Mum is also clean when I visit and medication to ease any pain she is in is always provided.
The staff are friendly in difficult conditions. The rooms are adequate, a bit tatty. The staff are good with my Mother who can be hard work. Sometimes it's hard to get into the until 5 to 10 minutes.
My Mother has been in Rakewood since July 2024. During this time she has been well cared for and I think she is happy with the care that is delivered. My only concern is that I don't think there are enough staff rotered during nights.
The staff have been very kind, friendly, and very respectful to my sister. When asked a question they help as soon as they can. My sister has not been here long and needs time to settle due to her brain damage is difficult.
Staff were very attentive my mum was cared for with dignity and respect. We were kept well informed, day staff rang to say we needed to go back in and was very caring and knowledgeable professional. Night staff was on shift when my mum passed they explained pain relief was available if needed beforehand. They were very empathetic and also allowed us to spend our time to be able to have time with my mum but also being aware that if needed they were there for both my mum and the family. We again were kept well informed of what would happen next. Kitchen staff were very good when asking for her own food to be liquidated nothing was too much trouble.
After nine years in the home, Mum passed in June. During those nine years, there had been several changes of ownership/management along with rapid turnovers of care staff and I saw several changes in the way Mum was cared for, including the loss of continuity for Mum (she had Dementia) as far as carers getting to know her and more importantly, Mum getting to recognise and know her carers. However, in the last few years, the latest management change afforded Mum that continuity. The staff were happier and I can honestly say that Mum was loved and cherished during her last few years. Even through the pandemic years when I was unable to be with her as I would have liked, I knew that she was cared for as well as I could expect. Whilst being cared for in a care home is never going to be a perfect situation, I am happy with how Mum and also her family, were always treated with respect, understanding and love. Her last few days and weeks were made more bearable for us because of this level of care.
