View Full Details of Ridgewood Court Residential Care HomeMy mum went in to rest bite for 2 weeks, I was very nervous about the hole situation, but them nerves soon disappeared when I saw how the hole staff from the office to the careworkers took care of my mum and made it so easy for her to adapt so quickly.I would highly recommend this company and have no hesitation taking my mum back as I know she would be well looked after.
My father joined Ridgewood Court in October 2024, due to a decline in his dementia. I have been so impressed with the care he has received and the respect and dignified way he has been treated. By far the biggest asset at Ridgewood, are the staff. They are angels without wings! All of them are beyond excellent in manners and care. There is always one or two that just go that bit extra. One staff member has has been outstanding for dad. The receptionist - always cheery and still mucks in.
I visited Ridgewood Court several times in the past to visit with a friend. I have always been impressed with the grounds, the entrance area and the residents' rooms. The room I visited was carefully laid out with personal effects, mementoes and was a warm and welcoming sight. So much so that I was moved to tears at my first visit knowing that this was indeed a safe and secure place with care of the resident at its heart. I have seen for myself some of the activities provided at Ridgewood Court for the residents to join in with or not as they wish. I couldn't wish for this resident to be looked after anywhere else.
Our lovely Dad has been a resident at Ridgewood for around 18 months and he suffers from dementia. Right from the start we were so impressed by the carers who helped him to settle very quickly. The care home, is light, bright and airy, and the newly decorated cafe is probably Dad's favourite room. He and the other residents enjoy this cafe on a regular basis when the best crockery is used for their morning tea and snacks. The nature of Dad's illness means that he has needed to be referred to various medical teams recently which has been organised brilliantly by the lead carers there, and any of our suggestions or comments about Dad's care is listened to and acted on the same day, which is really impressive. The team are really lovely, professional and caring and we feel happy that he is safe and well looked after. We can't thank the carers enough.
I write, on behalf of our family, to commend Ridgewood Court and its people. The care, devotion, attention and humanity they delivered to Mum, especially toward the end of her life, is far beyond praise and is appreciated by us all. It will never be forgotten. Thank you one and all.
My darling mum has been here for over 5 years. Initially on the 'early' dementia floor, before recently moving to the 'advanced' dementia floor. Throughout this time she has received exceptional care and love. I live abroad and can't visit her as much as I'd like to; but I have complete confidence knowing that she is safe, well cared for, and given lots of attention and love. It means more than I can ever express.
My father was a resident for six weeks at this home, and was cared on a 1:1 basis by a dedicated team of staff. The staff were responsive to all his needs, treating him as 'one of their own' providing both love and support on a 24-hour basis. I would strongly recommend their care and support throughout this experience and their care and support to family members.
Ridgewood Court Residential Care Home is a great place to put your family member in, they will be a great help in taking care of you and treated very well for your care needs. The staff and duty manager are brilliant staff and manage residents and visitors, keep up the good work and thanks for looking after my stepmum.
My mother, who suffers from dementia, has been in Ridgewood Court for some months, as a respite user and now as a permanent resident. The home was welcoming from the start, with friendly, unflappable staff and management. Physically, it's clean and bright and my mother is currently looking physically very well indeed: clearly well-fed, properly medicated, clean and happy. My parents wanted to stay in the Wirral but we are a distributed family (I live 200 miles away) and Ridgewood staff have stepped up with support for hospital visits with great good humour and aplomb. The whole ambience of Ridgewood Court is professional, calm and congenial. I find it very reassuring and can't thank the staff enough.
We visited a family friend at Ridgewood this December. Warm welcome, very polite staff. The home is very clean and well-presented with modern decor. We sat in a lounge overlooking the garden which was lovely. I look forward to my next visit.
My lovely mum has been a resident at Ridgewood Court for over four years- she suffers from dementia. It was a very hard decision that we had to take to move Mum to a care home, but during the time Mum has lived here, it has become Mum's home with the help of such caring staff. The staff will take time out of their day to stop and chat with Mum and get to know her. I can't thank all the staff who work or have worked at Ridgewood enough for the amazing care, help and support that they give my mum.
The overall standard of the care, both staff responses and practical support, is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the residents, nor for the families. The management are always willing to listen to us and offer solutions to issues. We would, however, like quite a bit more planned activities on a regular basis. This was one of the reasons we were drawn to Ridgewood Court. I do appreciate there have been some problems getting an activities coordinator, but feel this does need prioritising.
My father has been a resident at Ridgewood Court since December 2022, as a family it was a painstaking task visiting homes to place our precious father. The moment we walked through the door, unannounced, our decision was made. The home was immaculately clean, residents and staff laughed and joked, it was clear to see that the relationships were genuine. The atmosphere was friendly and homely. The home manager made the initial and transitional process a whole lot easier for us, and it is clear to see she leads her team by example. I can not thank each and every member of staff enough. My dad is well cared for, has gained weight, and we are able to sleep at night, knowing that he is safe, well and most importantly happy. Thank you team Ridgewood, you are angels that walk this earth.
Our dad was at Ridgewood Court as he had dementia. Although the staff generally were lovely I feel that our dad was treated very badly by the management. He was accused of pushing somebody over although no proof was ever given to us. The management on three occasions tried to dump him in A and E and leave him there. The paramedics refused to take him as there was nothing wrong with him. He was kept up all night waiting for an ambulance. He was a beautiful man and did not deserve this treatment. I will never forgive those in management as my dad was given notice to quit and we have no choice but to take him elsewhere. We couldn’t take him to a place of our choice as they wanted my dad to leave immediately. His dementia then worsened dramatically as we knew it would. He died less than 3 months later.
All the facilities in this care home are excellent, this being a purpose-built home and not a converted house. All the staff took time to reassure and comfort my mum when she first moved in and was upset and confused. She has now settled in and is a lot calmer and now feels part of this community. I now have peace of mind knowing my mum is being looked after 24/7.
Mum lived at Ridgewood Court for the final few years of her life and passed away on October 31st. These were very happy years during which she - and our family - received outstanding care and love from the manager and her wonderful team. We loved our mum so much and I truly believe the team at Ridgewood Court did too. We are incredibly grateful for everything they did for our lovely mum and cannot recommend them highly enough.
The friendly and relaxed atmosphere at Ridgewood Court creates an environment for residents to feel comfortable in and it's lovely to see staff and residents, and the families of residents, all getting along so well together. The staff are very kind and go above and beyond to help residents with both their physical and emotional needs. They take great care to assist residents individually with their likes or dislikes and hobbies or interests. I am glad I chose Ridgewood Court for my mum.
A carefully designed building os a great asset but is nothing if not staffed well. This home has an excellent and caring management team whose prime purpose is to make residents feel at home. This influences all the staff, receptionists, team leaders, care workers, cleaning, catering, maintenance and activity coordinator. All are professional but also have shown friendliness, kindness and thoughtfulness to my husband. they have made me feel very welcome as I have spent much time here supporting my husband.
The care for my mum has been brilliant. All staff, (carers, domestic) always stop and say hello to Mum and have a little conversation. The cares are very kind and treat Mum in a lovely, caring way, as if it was their own Mum and give her dignity and respect. The rooms are kept clean and homely - so overall, very good. Residents also get good food and try and cater to individual needs.
Our much-loved Grandma lived here for two years before passing peacefully this month. We couldn’t say enough positive things about Ridgewood - the team is amazingly caring to not just the residents, but to their loved ones too. Our Grandma was treated with professionalism, care and dignity throughout, and we were always sure she was in a safe, clean, comfortable and loving environment. From offering her, her favourite food (mussels) to finding the time to play chess with her - we couldn’t have asked for a better place for her. We have direct experience of many other homes, and without doubt, this surpasses them. Thank you all for everything you did.
