View Full Details of Riverside Care HomeOn arriving at Riverside my husband was greeted by the manager and many of the staff came to introduce themselves. The greeting card and fruit was a lovely surprise. The staff have all been kind and caring. The activities and events have been a great help to my husband who is now physically more active, and taking part too. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as are the staff. The whole experience is so good and my husband is so much better at walking and interacting. The staff are also supportive of the families. Whoever looks after oral hygiene does a wonderful job. Thank you.
In the summer Mum had a stroke that left her with limited movement on her right-hand side and some memory issues. After leaving hospital Mum needed care, and we could not have made a better choice than Riverside. The staff are fantastic, kind, and caring and support and deal with Mum as a person. Special mention to the activity coordinator and her amazing activities which together with the ongoing physiotherapy and round-the-clock nursing and care have really brought Mum on in leaps and bounds. The food is amazing freshly prepared onsite and Mum is making friends with the other residents. Overall Mum has settled into Riverside really well and this has been a massive relief to all the family. Thank you, to the manager and all your team
Such a lovely care home and very clean. My Grandma felt so welcomed and relaxed here and all the staff we met were polite and friendly. Her room was spacious and very bright. Thank you for caring for Grandma so kindly.
Viewed this care home for my mum along with my sister; the management & staff were very caring towards residents. Accommodation is excellent, and hygiene is perfect. Care & attention given by all staff is second to none & mum has been happy & very well looked after. Couldn't wish for a better place for our mum. She is a palliative patient at end of life & I don't know how we would cope with the heartache without the love of all the staff. Always have time to even make sure we're ok and go above & beyond any expectations. A happy home; love & thanks to all.
Mum felt safe and looked after as soon as she arrived at Riverside and that continues. All staff have been amazingly kind and considerate with her and myself too. She is currently bedridden but has had visits to her room, such as the recent Chinese event where she had traditionally dressed ladies dancing through her room after her Chinese meal. She was amazed watching them dance with the music following them. The lovely activities lady has also visited her and encouraged her to try her old hobby of knitting too. The staff are compassionate and even the maintenance guy, laundry staff & cleaners have been so kind and friendly to Mum. It's lovely to see her old self coming through with them as they encourage her so much to feel confident and at ease. The nurses are fabulous and caring and knowledgeable and I have no worries about Mum's care whatsoever, it is such a relief to us all. She is eating so much better than when she was in hospital and that is a testament to the great food too.
I viewed a handful of homes for my respite stay while my daughter went on a well-deserved holiday, the reasons I chose Riverside were clear to see, the cleanliness of the home is above and beyond, the staff were absolutely amazing and kind, they attended to all my needs and requirements, they showed dignity and respect, food menu had a great variety of choices and they would go out their way to meet your needs if there was something different you fancied to eat (which was fantastic as I wasn't great at eating meals at that time), I joined in activities which was lovely, I had a wonderful time staying there and I would recommend to others! Many thanks Riverside for your kindness and for making my stay comfortable. Your staff are amazing and I miss you all.
My mum has been a resident for 11 months and during that time the staff have worked tirelessly to help her integrate into the home. Mum has been treated with dignity and respect and has always been encouraged to embrace the varied activities that the home provides. As well as as her weekly hairdressing appointment the food is 5* and residents are able to have their favourite tipple too! Home from Home! Mum enjoys being able to have a game of dominoes and there is always company for her should she wish.
My mum has been at this care home now for over 4 years. I've always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly with a high level of personal care and compassion to the residents. The staff are always there to assist with any issues or concerns. There are regular activities and guest entertainers at the home which my mum enjoys very much. The most important thing is if my mum is happy there and feels safe and looked after and the answer is definitely yes.
Riverside became my Mum's home four years ago. She settled in very quickly with the support and reassurance of the staff. She has a lovely spacious room with ensuite facilities that are kept absolutely spotless. The home in general is very clean and modern. Residents are encouraged to join in with an extensive activity programme to support ongoing cognition and social interaction, I love seeing the photos of Mum looking happy. The care is very individual and takes into consideration past lived experiences. My Mum feels safe and secure within the familiar routine. There is always a member of the nursing team available if she has a worry and she can talk to them confidentially if she needs too. Mum is always offered a choice at meal times and often something different if she prefers. I love to see the photos of Mum joining in and looking happy. Thank you Riverside for taking such good care of my Mum - you are appreciated every day.
My Mother has been a resident of Riverside care home for seven months. While she has been there she has received the best care anyone could wish for. All of the staff are all first class and very professional in their work, they go over and above the call of duty to make the residents and visitors feel at ease. The standard of hygiene is excellent and the rooms are all very comfortable and well equipped. Entertainment and activities are provided each day by both the staff and outside agencies. My mother has settled in well and is very happy at Riverside. I would like to the everyone of the staff for the effort they put in to make Riverside a home from home.
My nan lived at Riverside for 7 and a half years before she recently passed away. The care she was given was impeccable, the staff treated her as their own. I cannot thank the staff enough for all the love and care they gave my nan.
Since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Mum has settled into the routine of the home very well, what I personally like are the activities that my mum participates in daily, whether it be creating name tags through to dancing and singing. As a family, we especially like the daily pictures showing activities and participation for all residents. This means that all family members and friends alike have direct access to Mum's daily life. Staff are always busy helping out residents and laughing and singing along, it's wonderful to see Mum and everyone else's faces light up. Nothing is ever too much trouble, from offering treats in abundance and the one to one interaction is second to none. Riverside is always spotless and the food Mum really enjoys. Thank you!
My mother-in-law has been a resident for over 6 months now, she is very happy and settled and what is particularly wonderful to see is how all residents are treated by the amazing staff at the Riverside Care Home. The following observations and facts are worth mentioning - from daily activities am and pm (pictures are available and uploaded daily on their social media page) which is amazing to see, not just for Mum but all the residents. Staff provide individual, emotional and physical support at all times of day, which in turn gives family members the reassurance that is needed when loved ones have to navigate their own particular journey. For this reason, I most definitely would give Riverside and its wonderful staff 5*.
My cousin had been a resident of the Riverside Care Home only for a short while when she said to me "You know I think of my bungalow as my house, but I think of the Riverside as my home". My cousin has a daughter who has Down's syndrome and dementia and is in a care home suited to her needs. The staff at the Riverside have 'walked the extra mile' to make her daughter welcome there which has given both my cousin and her daughter pleasure and peace of mind. My cousin is very happy to live in Riverside.
This care home is lovely, very friendly and welcoming. It is very well-run and clean and smells lovely. The food is very good with plenty of choice and cooked well. The staff are very good, do anything for you and enjoy a good laugh and joke. It's like a five-star hotel.
There are some outstanding staff at Riverside who go 'above and beyond' for the residents. The activities provided are age appropriate, stimulating and enjoyable for the residents. The home always smells clean and fresh and is welcoming in the reception area. The laundry staff are excellent and take good care of residents' clothing. It is nice to see that the dining tables are now being covered with cloths which make mealtimes more welcoming. Nurses are employed which provides peace of mind to me as a relative. My mum has received excellent care and advice from them even though she is currently classed as residential. It is reassuring to know that, should her condition deteriorate, there will be continuity provided by the manager, nurses (and carers) with no need for her to move to a nursing home. The 'purpose built' nature of the building means that all floors are level which makes getting around easier. The proximity of gardens, and the nice views are a bonus.
Riverside Care Home provides an excellent service for my mother. She enjoys the food, room, friendliness of staff, activities and company of fellow residents. She often comments on how happy she is at the home.
The Riverside is a very good residential home. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the food is excellent. There is a good range of activities on offer every week (Monday to Friday). I am very happy here.
We have found the staff at Riverside very friendly and professional towards mum. She has settled in well and is enjoying the care and attention, which is offered continuously throughout the day. She has slept well and found her room and bed comfortable.
Mum was reluctant at first, but as soon as she moved into Riverside, she settled in and now she loves it. She is making friends and joining in the activities, particularly music. It is also good to know that she is eating regularly.
