View Full Details of Riverside LodgeMy mother started as a Respite resident and is now permanently living in Riverside. She has settled well and thoroughly enjoys interaction with the other residents and their daily activities. The care team are very kind.
My mother was staying for respite care and the transition to being a permanent resident was handled very well. My mother is now settled in and enjoying the great activities and meals very much. On visiting Riverside Lodge I find the staff very welcoming and helpful. The bedroom, ensuite, and recreation areas are very clean, warm, bright, and comfortable. It is very comforting to know that my mother is safe and is being very well cared for by the excellent staff.
I was absent when Dad urgently needed a place at a care home (at the advice of his palliative team). Riverside Lodge found him a room at very short notice, smoothing the way for my sisters (who had to manage the situation). His stay at Riverside turned out to be very short, but as his health rapidly deteriorated the staff kept him and the family very comfortable - they were welcoming and compassionate, and (as reported by my sisters) even provided regular supplies of tea, cakes and snacks as they waited by Dad's bedside. A bonus was being able to hear the bells that Dad would have heard from his childhood home. Altogether, the experience could hardly have been better at a very emotional time. I have visited the home a couple of times myself, but not while Dad was there. Consequently, I cannot really give ratings for some of the categories. I have rated these as "satisfactory".
My elderly aunt had a fall which affected her confidence and mobility. She spent a week at the care home which helped her literally find her feet and rebuild her confidence. The facility is very clean and has a nice homely feel and is perfectly located being so close to the town centre. The staff were amazing and looked after my aunt, who can be difficult, with huge professional pride. I would highly recommend this home to others.
We have been extremely impressed with the care shown and support given to us and our family member as they moved into Riverside. All of the staff have shown care and compassion in excellent surroundings.
My mum has been at Riverside Lodge since it opened in January 2024. It is a lovely home, beautifully decorated and with very good facilities. The staff are caring, kind, friendly and helpful to Mum and to her family and other visitors. I find management very approachable, and, like all the staff, they place Mum's happiness and safety as most important. I am so thankful that Mum is in such a lovely and safe home where she is genuinely cared about, and very well cared for.
It was a real pleasure to visit my friend in this wonderfully resourced home. Having felt quite low previously, in Riverside my friend became her old self again due to having help with all her daily needs, meaning she could once again experience life to the full. I noticed the staff were attentive, but not overbearing, and were respectful to all. Thank you Riverside for your care and attention.
My wife has been in Riverside Lodge since March. We looked at several care homes in the area before making our final choice, and four months later we are sure we made the right choice. Being a new purpose-built care home the residents enjoy the many benefits it offers. On our first visit, we were immediately impressed by the entrance which leads into a welcoming lounge, comfortable light and tastefully decorated. The rest of the Riverside is similarly appointed. After the initial settling-in process, my wife has settled down very well and even she says, we made the right choice, she is especially complimentary about the food with she enjoys. The staff from reception to all the nursing staff are charming and nothing is too much trouble for them.
When visiting for the first time, very impressed with the welcome we received. We inspected the rooms, the rooms were generous in size with an excellent en-suite shower room. During my stay I was greeted by staff by my first name, the staff were excellent, making sure I wanted for nothing, even wheeling me on fine days to the garden. Night staff check rooms every two hours. Excellent security, good food, well presented and not repeated throughout my stay. My thanks to all the staff for an excellent experience.
My husband who has mobility issues, using both a walking frame and a wheelchair at times was in respite for two weeks in June 2024. We encountered kindness, respect and humour from all the staff. Although very new, Riverside Lodge already has a welcoming, homely atmosphere and the staff are very helpful and efficient. The facilities, such as the coffee lounge on the ground floor are a real treat. It also has very good management.
When I found myself in a situation of being on holiday and my mother was discharged from the hospital with no care plan, the staff at Riverside Lodge were amazing and arranged for her to be transferred there immediately. Nothing was too much trouble and communications with myself were excellent and I knew she would be in safe hands until my return.
My mum is very happy at Riverside Lodge. It is a lovely place, feels more like a 5* hotel than a care home. Staff are very friendly, caring and supportive. There are lots of daily activities for the residents to take part in as well as social trips out which is a real plus for the home. Very happy with Riverside Lodge.
I am very grateful for the knowledge that Mum is receiving the best possible care.
My dad has been a resident at Riverside Lodge and seems to be happy and content. The manager seems to answer any queries we have and staff are always happy and willing to help.
Mum has been a resident of Riverside Lodge since mid-February 2024. We were anxious about the move as she had always been independent and lived in the same place for 50 years. Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s Disease made it impossible for her to carry on this way. The staff made the transition as smooth as possible and welcomed Mum in. The home is brand new with top-of-the-range facilities and is like a hotel - but homely too. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. The food is excellent. It is cooked on-site, using fresh ingredients and the menu is varied. Mum was very thin on arrival but has now put on weight. There is a varied programme of activities and the staff work hard to ensure the residents' needs are met. The staff are professional, kind and caring and I have observed them building good relationships with the residents. Family and friends are welcome to visit at all times which is a good sign. Overall, we are very happy with Riverside Lodge.
When mum first moved to Riverside she was quite frail, recovering from a broken leg. She had four care visits a day at home but nevertheless was very lonely between calls. As a family, we were all on edge and concerned for her wellbeing when she was alone i.e. between calls and at night. She seemed to be anxious all the time, was not eating properly and not really engaging with life. Since she has been at Riverside, the change has been remarkable. She has put on weight, is relaxed and engages with all the staff and fellow residents. Friends and family have all remarked at how happy she looks when we see her and also those who follow her on your social media pages (which is very good by the way). This has been a very positive experience and a great relief for Mum and us and this is all due to the care and attention she receives at Riverside Lodge.
Mum originally entered Riverside Lodge for respite care and is now a permanent resident. The care she receives is outstanding. The staff are professional, supportive and very caring. She has been shown respect and kindness at all times and is very happy in her 'new home'.
Riverside Lodge is a lovely place, with excellent facilities, and a varied programme of activities for the residents. Staff are always friendly, caring and helpful, and give time to answer and deal with issues and queries. I feel my mother is being very well cared for at Riverside.
My mother-in-law has been at Riverside since March this year. The home is very new, is beautifully furnished/decorated and feels nothing like a care home, but more like a 5* hotel. I have found the staff to be extremely friendly and caring, they are always striving to enrich the lives of dementia residents and this is lovely to see on the Riverside Lodge online page, this keeps us updated with all the fun things going on!
Riverside Lodge is amazing for my mum, all staff are friendly and helpful. My mum is so happy to be a resident and settled in very quickly. The lady on my mum’s first day was the best as she welcomed my mum in and always has a chat when we visit. There are lots of activities every day which help my mum socialise. Her room is always very clean and smells lovely. The overriding comment my mum makes is that all the staff are so lovely. Lastly, the admin staff are so helpful and made it a very smooth transition into the home. Thanks so much, everyone!
