View Full Details of Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home - Avery CollectionMum spent the last year of her life here and the care could not have been better, she really felt at home and had some lovely friends. More than that, we often visited her and really felt part of a larger family, everyone knew and looked after each other, on the rare occasions that mum wasn't 100%, residents and staff were genuinely concerned. The trips and classes were fun too, how many 98 year olds take to Tai Chi and boxercise!
My mother spent 18 days in respite care at Chertsey Parklands while my husband and I were on holiday. I can honestly say she really enjoyed her time there. She made friends with other residents, and with the staff, who she reported "just couldn't" do enough for you". She enjoyed the food, used the chiropody service, and took the opportunity to get her hair done (3 times)! My elder son and his family visited her there, and he said his gran was in really good form. The great-grandchildren enjoyed cake from the cafe, trying out the "cool" recliner chairs and playing pool in the games room. We also spent an enjoyable, worry-free holiday knowing that Mum was happy and well looked after. I am full of admiration for the excellent management and staff, who succeed in creating a wonderful atmosphere in the home, and in ensuring that there are many stimulating activities and trips for the residents. Big shout out also to the catering and cleaning staff. They do a great job.
My cousin, a first cousin, was resident in the home for 2 years - she was introduced to Chertsey Parklands Manor as it offered the very best medical and nursing care available - a critical factor for my cousin with her special needs and requirements. Right up to her death on December 9th 2024, she was very complimentary about the care and attention she received from all levels of personnel at the home. Time and time again when I discussed her continuing needs she was quite adamant that there was no parallel to Parklands, it offered optimal standards of care, attention and above all a genuine love. I noted her reaction to the caring and nursing personnel whenever they entered her room - there was a warm understanding, a trust that went beyond words. We may never see Parklands again as we live in Somerset but our memory will be of a caring team of people all working to make the end of my cousin's life as comfortable and as secure as possible.
Mum and dad went in to Chertsery Parklands Manor Care Home in May 2021. Dad sadly passed away in August this year. We were so grateful to all the staff at Parklands for the way they looked after mum after dad passed. This includes the nursing staff, the carers and even the catering staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum was taken into hospital in October and sadly it was decided that end of life care was needed. Mum was transferred back to Parklands, her face lit up when she saw her carers, it was the best thing we could have done. Mum spent her last 10 days very comfortably and well taken care of, plus us as a family we were taken care of by the wonderful staff as well. Mum and dad were both 96 when they passed. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the staff at Parklands for their kindness, friendship and care. It is going to leave quite a hole in our lives not going to Parklands any more. This has been a real home for mum and dad, the levels of care have been exceptional.
I have nothing but positive words to write about the care provided for my mother at Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home, not just in terms of the facilities (which are excellent) but, more importantly, in terms of the quality and dedication of all the staff. They are truly top-notch. I cannot recommend Parklands Manor highly enough.
My father moved into Parklands Manor In January of 2024 and I had selected the care home based on its already impeccable reviews but having visited ahead of time and seen the facilities and met some of the staff, our choice as a family was quickly solidified. I chose Parklands Manor because it could also handle the level of care both time intensive and at the end of things, palliative focus that my dad needed and would need. The care staff bonded quickly with my father and he loved them dearly too and this friendship and kinship was very evident at the end of my father's life as well. The way his death was handled by both the nurses and carers was so respectful and beautiful and not a single step was missed or a loving touch missed either. Parklands Manor will forever be a part of our lives and I recommend them wholeheartedly without hesitation.
During the short time Dad spent at Parklands, the care, consideration and kindness shown to him was exemplary. The same was also extended to our family by all members of the team. We are so thankful.
I went on holiday in July for 2 weeks. It is always a worry going away without Mum but I knew she was in good hands and well looked after. The home stayed in regular contact updating me on Mum and how she was each day which helped me enjoy my holiday without worrying about her. I spend a lot of time at Parklands and have got to know many of the staff and built a friendship with them. Would highly recommend Parkland Manor to anyone looking for care.
Having viewed several care homes in the area, we decided on Chertsey Parklands Manor and are so glad we did! All the staff are warm and welcoming and from day 1, my partner's needs have been catered for to ensure his safety and comfort. The carers are kind, compassionate and very patient, with nothing ever being too much trouble. The activities team deliver a varied schedule every day and there are regular trips out. My partner joins in with the exercise classes, something he never would have done before and the benefits have been noticeable. The food is to be commended, breakfast and 3-course lunch and supper menu offering several choices. In addition, drinks, cake and fruit are available throughout the day. The surroundings are beautiful, a large pretty landscaped garden with a big pond. A lovely patio area offers tables and chairs and also there are benches located around the garden. My thanks to all the team at Chertsey Parklands Manor, it's reassuring to know my partner is looked after so well!
Parklands Manor Care Home is exactly that - a lovely 'Home' with 'Care' its inspiring philosophy, and compelling motivation! Surrounded by trees and sweeping lawns, the magnificent entrance inspires confidence, calm, and tranquillity, coupled with a warm welcome. The professionalism and efficiency of staff, at all levels is inspirational, readily developing trust and a sense of belonging. Indeed, a happy, secure place to be - where nothing is too much trouble!
My mother spent the last few months of her life at Chertsey Parklands Manor. It is a lovely care home with bright, comfortable rooms, great activities (she especially loved tai chi and boxercise), lovely communal areas (I particularly commend the excellent and ever-changing themed decorations at Halloween, Christmas, Chinese New Year, etc.), and - most importantly - wonderfully caring staff. My mother grew very fond of her room and particularly appreciated the access to outside space. She also grew very fond of a number of the carers who showed her great care, kindness, and compassion in her last few weeks. Thank you.
My mother entered Parklands for end-of-life care following a serious fall and four weeks in the palliative care ward of the hospital. Since then, her health has improved remarkably and she has regained much of her previous quality of life. For this, we are very grateful to the care staff, the managers who encourage residents to keep active, and the two visiting physios who have given Mum the confidence to start walking again. The atmosphere in Parklands is very friendly and upbeat, and my whole family enjoys spending time in the home. There is a sense of fun about the place which is very unusual for a care home. The staff is very accommodating, the facilities are excellent and the landscaping of the garden is very attractive. We love walking around the pond with Mum, looking at the trees and flowers in the garden, and the wildlife and beautiful old trees in front of the care home. It keeps Mum in touch with the seasons and helps her to enjoy life to the fullest.
I have experienced nothing but excellent care from the Chertsey Parklands Manor Care Home. I was able to recover in peace and quiet but at the same time there was help available when I needed it. The nursing staff were patient and polite. The activities made it possible to resume normal life and the strengthening and exercise classes were particularly helpful. The food and drink also helped to restore one's health. I would thoroughly recommend this home where one could recover one's health and move on. Everyone was very helpful and a lovely atmosphere.
The atmosphere was warm and friendly. I particularly liked the use of Christian names all the time. Food was very good. Enjoyed taking part in some of the activities and the two outside entertainers, a singer and harpist, were excellent. Loved walking around the pond. Would like to return one day.
The staff in the Meadows are very welcoming and engage with relatives to keep them informed of any issues with the resident. They are very attentive to the resident's needs and show utmost care when dealing with them. Every member of staff follows a health reporting procedure where residents are regularly monitored. Where necessary, additional nursing staff attend to ensure the best care is being delivered. There is a daily program of activities that residents are encouraged to participate in, at whatever level they can. Each day there is a varied food menu on offer of a good standard. Staff are on hand to assist at meal times where required.
My experience of the care given by all the staff in Meadows is that they do care very much and are always very kind to all the residents. Their liaison with relatives is first class and I am always kept up to date with developments and needs with clear advice on what to do in certain situations. The other staff I encounter from reception through to the entertainment team and management is one of thoughtful and friendly attitude and almost as if nothing is too much trouble. Communication is vital in any organisation and it is easy to comment that there is not enough but I would say that this could be improved by the senior management of Avery as, since I started my journey with Parklands, this has slipped following the change from the previous owners to Avery whether it be the regular updates on developments or communication over fees. However, overall I always speak most highly of the operation at Parklands and recommend the home to anyone who asks.
What a 'gem' of a place Parklands Manor is! It's not just the environment that is amazing - both internal and external, (with grounds, and a large pond and fountain,) but also the wonderful team of people who work there. They are all so smiley, positive and welcoming, and it is a real joy coming to visit my mother here. My mother has had three very lengthy stays in hospital over the last 18 months, and has been extremely ill. But fortunately, she is now back to her former self. She has found some like-minded residents, and has recently established a bridge group - a game that she has been playing since her 20's! She also takes part in various exercise classes. Last but not least, the food is superb. They have a new chef, and my mother says that not only is the food delicious, but it is presented very attractively too.
Very helpful management, together with a friendly staff, made an enjoyable stay. The care home, with superb decor and facilities also well kept grounds, was a pleasure to stay in. Would pass this experience to anyone requiring care support in the future. Thanks to all at Chertsey Parklands.
My mother-in-law (my wifes mother) has been at the home for nearly a year now and we are so happy the choice was made for her to reside in Parklands Chertsey, she is very happy there. Her sister was there a while back before she passed. Both my wife and I havewife's visited from overseas a few times and have always been extremely impressed at the standard of care. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and caring. Recently my wife's mum lost her husband and the staff once again went out of their way to comfort mum. 10 out of 10 all round. We feel very happy to know she is in such great care.
My mother moved into Parklands in June 2019, she enjoyed all the activities and entertainers and she visited the onsite hairdresser once a fortnight, unfortunately, the last 2 years after suffering a mini-stroke, she was more or less confined to her bed, but she had excellent care and attention by the fantastic staff, who she loved dearly. Sadly, she passed away on May 31, aged 102 and 5 months, myself and family cannot thank the management and staff enough for the way in which they cared for her, and would not hesitate in recommending Parklands. My husband and I miss our visits, chatting with the residents and enjoying the coffee and pastries.
