View Full Details of Tanworth Court Nursing HomeWe brought my mother to Tanworth Court Nursing Home on 27th November for a week's respite. Her room and bathroom were clean and spacious. All staff we met were welcoming and very helpful. From our experience, we would definitely recommend this establishment.
Home, staff and facilities are a breath of fresh air for residents. The home is split into streets making it feel like a homely place to live. Care is second to none! Keep up the good work everyone!
Mum has been with Tanworth Court since last year and appears to be well looked after and cared for. All the staff are very polite helpful and kind, in particular, one lady who has a good connection with my mum. I am always kept well informed and up to date regarding mum's health and welfare and mum seems to be happy at Tanworth Court. Thank you.
My mother has lived at Tanworth Court for the past 36 months and I have seen Tanworth go from strength to strength since the arrival of the new manager. I have regular updates and no longer feel I need to be at Tanworth Court on a daily basis. The manager and her team go above and beyond, the staff are amazing, they do not only look after Mom but us as a family too. Residents are treated with care and love. It's like one big happy family. I highly recommend Tanworth Court to anyone looking for good all-round care. If I am honest this would not have been my view 18 months ago but well done to the manager on the turnaround, can see Mom is loved.
The standard of care is very good. The staff are kind and attentive. The premises are very clean. The reception staff are friendly and the nursing staff all over the building are very warm and friendly. I cannot fault the care. Excellent. The security is superb. Lots of love put into the building.
My sister-in-law was a resident here for 13 days. In that time, all of the staff were very kind to her popping in to make sure she was comfortable and had everything she needed. Their kindness overwhelmed me at the time I needed it. Her passing was made easier through their kindness.
My dad went into Tanworth Court initially for respite at the end of Aug 23. On first impressions it seemed a lovely place and the staff said all the right things. About 3 weeks in and my dad had deteriorated significantly but we were reassured that they could cope with end of life care, this is where things significantly changed. It seemed that they could not cope with my dad's needs at all. He got significant pressure sores, which turned his heals and sacrum black. He was left in the same clothes for 3 days and 2 nights. Food and drink were left out of reach at a stage where even if he could reach, he needed help feeding and drinking. The treatment he received (or didn't receive) caused our family great distress at an already distress full time. In my personal opinion Prime Life need to look into the running of the home. I would also appreciate if they could return the call of the message that was left on 26th September. Please think twice before sending your loved ones here.
As most places, short staffed but the carers were generally kind and doing their best but can't keep up with demand and needs of residents due to lack of staff and bad management. Rooms are nice and has a lovely garden so all seems good if you go by appearances however the care is lacking and they can only cope with residents who need minimal care. Grandad went in pretty able to feed himself and mobilise and therefore we thought it was pretty good. Was only there for respite and he had visitors every day so we did as much as we could for him too. Unfortunately, as he declined we found the care lacking and unsafe. He ended up with several bedsores. He always looked uncomfortable and dishevelled. They didn't bother to change him or clean him. They didn't even help him eat and drink when he needed help.
Very disappointing. The doctor only visits once a week and then doesn't spend time with the person. The manager is aloof and makes you feel as if you are in the wrong when asking for something. Nursing staff and carers are very kind but if something was asked for they agreed to do it or get it but never came back. Constant noise from other people's tv's being on full blast all the time. Beware that you have to give a month's notice in writing or pay for a month's care if you want to leave.
I have found Tanworth Court to be an excellent care home. My father is very well looked after and all his needs are met, he is very happy here. He enjoys the activities. The staff are very friendly and helpful since he has been he has improved. Put in weight and is enjoying a better quality of life.
Very disappointing experience and one that I would not recommend to anyone. We had no contact from management who seem to think they are above everybody else! Not friendly or approachable and when we did manage to speak to them they tried to talk down to us. The carers were very hard-working but always seemed to be short-staffed. We had to argue to get the right medication for my mother-in-law, told we couldn't be there at times even though she was on end of life. There seemed to be no handover or if there was it was poor, several times we had to tell them no food due to the fact she couldn't swallow, at one stage when she was finally on her syringe driver they still tried to give her tablets and looked shocked when we informed them that she was on the syringe driver! Unprofessional management in my opinion, lack of empathy, even once she passed nobody expressed any sympathy and I don't know how funeral directors would have entered if we weren't there! All in all a very poor show.
My husband has recently been admitted to Tanworth Court the staff and management team go above and beyond to ensure care delivery is given to the best standards. I can honestly say the difference in care from the previous placement is outstanding. I would like to thank the staff for the time and effort that is given to myself and my family members to ensure we are updated and comfortable in leaving him in the hands of at first total strangers but now are like family members. I can never thank you enough.
Carers were trying their best under very poor management and no consistency in nursing staff. We moved my father after going through a range of different concerns which even though reported were never investigated or fed back to us. There are so many beautiful nursing homes in the area that cost the same. In my dad's words, it’s like comparing a youth hostel to a five-star hotel. Please do your research to fit your loved one.
Would not recommend anyone coming here. Poor service from them when family member was here. No handover given so carers didn’t know what was happening (Not their fault. Hardworking and overworked). Had to argue to get correct medication for family member. Told us we weren’t allowed there through the night even though on end of life. I’m a carer, I know how it works myself. Management awful. Spoke down to us, didn’t acknowledge us when came in or introduced themselves when we first came. Would not recommend anyone coming here. Plenty of other resident's families spoke to us and said the same. We only found out things by speaking to family members. Management needs reviewing. I would never treat my relative family members how they did.
Over the last month, I have seen a noticeable improvement in the running of the home. Much of this,, I believe, is due to the change of management and an increased complement of staff. Hopefully, this will continue into the future.
My mum came to Tanworth Court Nursing Home in February and she has received the best care. All staff are lovely, food is good and it's lovely to see Mom out of her room. She seems to have settled well so thank you to all staff for the amazing care you are giving to our mom.
My mother-in-law has been a resident of the care home since January 2022. There have been many issues that needed to be resolved. A new manager has recently taken over and put lots of measures in place that has significantly improved the home. Mother-in-law is now clean and well cared for. The manager and senior staff are always on hand to answer any concerns we have.
My husband is cared for my experienced staff and has settled in very well.
Very caring home. Always helpful and polite carers. Office staff and management always made sure everything was as it should be. Only leaving due to travelling to visit.
My father was a resident here for several months and I cannot praise it highly enough. Rooms were always clean. Food was clearly homemade and plentiful. Dad was kept neat and tidy and well cared for. The staff are lovely. Towards the end of dads life he was treated the same, still washed and personal care every 2 hours. We were allowed to stay with him for the end and staff also checked our well-being as well as dads and kept us fed and watered. I felt dad was loved and cared for until the end.
