View Full Details of The Grand Care CentreMy father only spent a couple of months here on end-of-life care until he sadly passed. The care he received at The Grand was respectful, kind, caring and professional. Through my frequent visits I got to know the team who supported him. The home manager has managed to hire some of the loveliest people I have ever met. Each time I left after visiting I felt confident and reassured that I had secured him a place in a good care home. It relieved a lot of the anxieties and guilt I felt about the entire situation. My father passed peacefully in early February but I will be forever grateful to the nurses/carers who made his transition from this world to the next an easy one. God bless you all.
Very happy here. The care provided by carers, management and well-being staff members is exceptional. My health is carefully watched and I feel very lucky and safe.
I am very happy here, the staff are kind and helpful.
I can not recommend The Grand Care Home in West Bridgford Nottingham enough. My Father was fast-tracked out of hospital in May 2024. It was a traumatic period and to place your relative in any care home is a massive step the pressure to get it right is immense. Having visited quite a few and being horrified at what we saw, the visit to The Grand was amazing within a 1 minute of entering I already had a good feeling and after being shown around the choice was easy to make. The staff are fantastic and went above and beyond in the care and friendly ship they gave to my Father. Every member of staff was superb you could not wish for better. The building is kept to the highest standard. I have no hesitation in recommending The Grand to anyone who needs to find a care home for a member of their family. Thank you all at The Grand for the care you gave my Dad in his last days.
After making the decision to move mum to The Grand Care Centre, we received ongoing support from the time we visited through to the day of the move. Move day could have been challenging for mum and potentially disorientating but from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome from reception and encouraged to take our time to let mum adjust. There is no cure for dementia but the positive change we have seen since mum has been at The Grand is remarkable. This transformation is undoubtedly a testament to the care and attention she receives from staff across the whole of the care home, as well as the open, clean and welcoming physical environment. We've seen glimpses of mum we thought we had lost forever. The care has been personalised to ensure mum can feel at ease and safe. She looks healthier and her demeanor has improved more than we could ever have hoped for. Seeing mum happy and relaxed allows us to feel at ease, knowing she is in safe and caring hands.
I'm happy here, everyone is smashing, helpful, kind and good. I enjoy being here with the many friends that I've made over the years I've been here. I get on very well with everyone and we have lots of fun.
Everyone is very kind with me. I am very happy here.
Firstly there are some very caring staff there but also staff who are not so caring. The main problem is lack of staff which leads to problems. 1) Not answering the alarm bell swiftly. 2) My father had 2 showers in 10 months, he's now showered daily at new care home. 3) We had to get the physio to push for Dad to use a commode, staff left him to wee in a pad, he was not incontinent - he now uses a bottle and normal toilet.
Mum has been in the care home for many years and she is so happy and well cared for. We as a family couldn't be happier with the standard of ongoing care Mum receives from the whole team. Everyone is welcoming and supportive.
Admitted end of life a few months ago. The care I have received has been fabulous. I have just been transferred to the ground floor at my request, this was done very quickly.
I can't speak highly enough of The Grand. The standard of care, the activities, the food and the facilities are excellent. Most of all it was the genuine sense of being welcome and cared for as part of a family which my mum and I valued the most.
My father stayed 2 weeks for respite. I cannot praise the helpfulness and professionalness of the staff and managers both to my father and to us when we visit. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, modern and comfortable. A choice of good meals and snacks were available and there were regular activities going on throughout his stay. The staff were understanding of my father's dementia, and able to patiently reassure him of where he was, and any other concerns he had. They also looked after his medicine and hygiene care very well. Highly recommended from initial planning, through to end of stay. And the building and floors were very secure too.
My father-in-law went into the home for respite care for 2 weeks, I would like to thank all of the staff at The Grand for all of the care and attention they have shown my father-in-law, this has had a profoundly positive effect on his health and general wellbeing. I know for sure he has enjoyed all of the fun and varied activities available. My sincerest thanks to all.
My mum was admitted back in 2017 and is still there to the present day. As I live in London I was worried about Mum's care, I didn’t have to. Since day one Mum's care and well-being have been the homes priority. All the staff are so lovely and kind and see to mums every need. I have a video call with Mum every Friday without fail and she is always so happy. I couldn’t wish for a better place for Mum to be than here. Also the activities and she looks forward to the days out and lifts her spirits.
High standards of care are provided to my nan at all times, ensuring she is happy. Nothing is ever a problem for staff, my nan has settled and come on so much since being in The Grand. Couldn’t recommend highly enough, staff and management provide support to both service users and their families to the highest of standards whenever and wherever required.
This care home and all its staff have a very special place in my heart. My father was a resident on the dementia floor for the past 8 years. Everyone who looked after dad and I dealt with were outstanding. The level of care was excellent and the love and thoughtfulness in his last days was lovely. This is a special place.
Our mother was admitted to The Grand Care Centre after a stay in hospital following a fall. We have been extremely pleased with her care. All members of staff who have been involved with her have been excellent, showing kindness and professionalism. They reacted promptly to her medical needs and we were always consulted if a change was necessary. Mum was treated with dignity and compassion at the end of her life.
My father was a resident at The Grand Care Centre after being discharged from hospital. He was made to feel welcome immediately. The team made him feel comfortable and encouraged him to take part in activities which he enjoyed. The care overall, for the few months that he was in there was outstanding. The team communicated to me what they were doing for him and was transparent with any concerns. They were responsive in making sure he attended all hospital appointments and was on the ball with medicine and care need changes. I appreciate everything they did for him and recommend The Grand as an amazing care facility.
Looked after well. Enjoyed my staff. Food was good. Care was good. Recommend the care home.
Very friendly staff who obviously care for their residents. The environment is clean and tidy. The rooms are a good size.
