View Full Details of The Lakes Care CentreI would like to thank my husband's care team for making his week respite a good experience for him, which meant I could have a holiday break with peace of mind. The care home is welcoming, light and beautifully furnished. Every member of the staff was supportive and appeared extremely happy to work there I wouldn't hesitate to request further respite care for my husband.
All the residents are treated as special individuals. Caring and support staff all know the residents and their needs. My wife has 24 hour care and is cared for with love. Her food is prepared individually for her and her eating is assisted. I am very satisfied and confident that she is very well cared for. It is easy to visit whenever I want.
My father has lived here for 2 years and we are very happy with the light, airy and pleasant environment of the households. It has good outside space both in the form of balconies, terraces and gardens, although more could be made of these spaces. We have been very happy with my father's care, the carers and the support staff in the home. Whilst the main care teams have remained stable, there have been changes in management since he has been a resident but hopefully it will now be a period of stability. The facilities in the home are good with regular organised activities, areas of quiet where you can sit, or lounges where you can be with others. Also, there are facilities where you can meet as larger family groups to celebrate birthdays etc. Overall, we are happy with the home and my father is settled, happy and well cared for.
My mother has been a resident at The Lakes for two years. The care has been thoughtful and personal - but not perfect because it is led by imperfect people. However, whenever there is a problem, the then previous management team, and now the deputy manager listen and take action. I do not know the manager. The reception team are superb - always helpful, positive and informative. The activities co-ordinators do their best - working hard to give quality to residents lives. The ladies in housekeeping and catering are superb. It is the people who matter - not the systems and 'posh' facilities. The staff need to be nurtured and developed.
I was very reluctant to put my sister in a care home as she has always been so very independent. But the time came when she needed 24 hours in a care home. The management and staff have been so kind and helpful with settling her down in the home and making her feel welcome. I now know she is in safe hands, and that makes me very happy.
Huge thanks to all the staff for their love and care for my mother. Your kindness, concern and fabulous support for all of us have been outstanding.
My dad came into The Lakes Care Centre in June for respite and then stayed as a permanent resident. He has really come out of himself since he has been here. It's lovely to see the staff (all) are lovely with him, very caring and always happy. I know that he is in the best place.
My parents became residents of The Lakes a couple of months ago. They came for 4 weeks of respite care, with a view to them becoming permanent residents, which they are now. They are both very settled and happy. My mum desperately needed company and to socialise with others. She has made many friends and joins in with all of the social activities. She now calls The Lakes her home and has told me how very happy she is and how all of the staff are wonderful. My dad is also settling, he just takes a bit longer to adjust. The staff are all wonderful, kind and caring. I feel very at home when I go to visit. The manager helped me every step of the way and gave great advice and support. She continues to support us and is always available if we need her. So too are all the office staff, so helpful, and friendly. The Lakes is a very cosy, warm and calm place and I love the small individual lounges and dining areas. I have peace of mind that my parents are happy, safe and very well cared for.
We have been coming for several weeks. All the staff have been very kind and helpful, always willing to help you. Everywhere is clean and tidy.
I am very pleased with the care and the friendly staff and managers, all the people are always happy and pleased to see you and fun to chat with. Overall excellent.
My father settled in remarkably quickly, which I think is due to the skills of the happy team who work at The Lakes Care Centre. He is content and well cared for and particularly enjoys sitting in the grounds on a hot sunny day just enjoying the warmth, colour and peace of the garden area. When my father lost his appetite, the chef ordered the foods that I thought he was most likely to eat. When he was ill, a variety of approaches were taken and he made a good recovery despite his advanced years. The clean laundry magically appears in his room and it is very rare for anything to be misplaced. It is reassuring to know that my father is at The Lakes, where I have every confidence that his opportunities will be maximised and problems minimised. For me, the home is a rare example of something good for my father despite his diagnosis.
Our Mum lived at The Lakes Care Centre for almost 5 years and she was always treated with love and respect. The staff and volunteers really are such lovely special people. When she first moved there, we were worried that she would want to "go home" but the Lakes became her home very quickly, and she was so happy there. She never had a bad word to say about the care, the staff, the food or the home itself. My brother and I were always treated with love and respect and care. The home seems to have a great relationship with the local GP surgery (and other services) and Mum received the best of care. The Lakes is a wonderful place.
My mum has been at The Lakes Care Centre for 4 months now and it’s lovely to see how happy she is there. She enjoys the activities on offer, loves the food (I hear about every meal in detail) and finds all the staff so friendly and caring. When I visit, there’s always a lovely vibe and the staff are cheerful and really welcoming. It’s such a relief to know my Mum is somewhere that she’s not only safe and cared for, but she’s enjoying her life again. I couldn’t ask for more.
We are very happy with the care and support Mum receives. We have been very impressed with the extra personal care provided by certain staff members. Knowing Mum is safe and looked after provides comfort for my sister and I. Thank you.
I cannot fault anything at all. The home is extremely nice and the staff are marvellous. Very friendly, helpful and caring people. My wife really feels at home there, which is a huge relief. My only worry is how long we can afford to keep her there.
The Lakes is a lovely comfortable environment with gardens for all the residents to enjoy. The atmosphere is homely and welcoming during the seven months mum has been a resident. We are confident that she is safe and very well cared for by the kind, cheerful and hardworking staff.
I am so grateful to be attending the Lakes care home. I am very well looked after by the caring staff. My room is comfortable, the food is very good and I have no worries. The only request would be to have more activities. I can't wait until my next stay at The Lakes. Thank you very much.
I have been very pleased with the support my wife has received and the help given by the carers.
The aim of my stay at The Lakes was to regain my confidence and independence after a traumatic stay in hospital. I was treated with respect as to my abilities. Being able to make my own tea or coffee was much appreciated as was having breakfast in bed, a luxury when you live alone. At the end of my stay, I had been able to get the rest I needed and was able to return home.
The staff at the Lakes care home are all so friendly, we are always greeted with a smile when we visit Dad. The care provided is excellent, it has been good for Dad to be looked after in a nice community environment. The food and drinks are very good, always a cup of tea when he needs one, lots of treats which he really likes. The facility is a lovely place, with lots of space for him to walk around. Dad is very happy here after being here 6 months, he is now settled and enjoying his time in care. Thanks to all the staff.
