View Full Details of The Lodge at Burcot GrangeWe were so relieved to move Mum to the Lodge from another home. The Lodge offers excellence in every way. After a relatively short settling-in period, Mum is as settled and as happy as we could hope for. Every single member of staff from the reception/admin/marketing team, housekeeping and hospitality, the maintenance team, the wonderful events team and of course the carers themselves actually really care. Everyone has time to engage with the residents and their families in a warm and friendly way. The carers are well trained and respectful. All residents are treated as individuals and their 'quirks' accommodated. Mum is always clean and well turned out which is as she'd want to be. As a family, we are involved in news/decision-making. Huge efforts go into keeping the days lively and stimulating with excellent activities. All areas of care seem well coordinated. I think underpinning this is first-class management. We enjoy our visits and leave with complete peace of mind.
Since arriving at Burcot Grange 17 years ago, my loved one has come from strength to strength. His mental health and general well being has flourished in this supportive, caring, encouraging and extremely well-led residential setting. All the staff are professional in their approach but the care staff go above and beyond in their care for all the residents. It has been my pleasure to witness their interactions not only with my loved one but with others too. I cannot speak highly enough of all staff from receptionists, groundsmen/maintenance, kitchen staff, activity coordinators, caring staff to management. Choosing Burcot for my loved one was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
We moved out mother into Burcot Grange just over 2 months ago. The difference in her has been incredible. SHe is more present, mobile and active. As a family, we cannot be more grateful of the whole Burcot family.
I am so impressed with The Lodge at Burcot Grange. It has a family atmosphere, all the staff are amazing and I feel absolutely confident that my mum is safe, loved and cared for. Thank you.
The Lodge at Burcot Grange stands out from all the other care homes in the area. I am sorry I cannot elaborate due to rheumatoid arthritis.
My mum who had Alzheimer’s disease spent the last 15 months in Burcot Lodge. In the time, she spent here after leaving the hospital she settled in so well and was very happy, stimulated and well looked after. The home is extremely well run and the staff are so friendly and welcoming throughout the whole team ranging from reception, carers, catering and housekeeping. My mum was treated with love, kindness and respect. There were plenty of planned activities and trips for residents to participate in if they chose to. The food served there is of a really first-class standard and we even had my mum's wake up there and it was excellent. At the end-of-life stage, we couldn’t have asked for more, Mum was treated with so much compassion, dignity, kindness and respect by the carers. Also in this deeply upsetting time, our family were extremely supported by the home which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend Burcot Lodge as a safe and caring home for your relative you wouldn’t find a better care home.
My wife arrived at the care home on 29th November 2022 and passed away on 15th February 2024. The team of professional care workers, from top management downward to cleaners, have been truly unbelievable, so capable in the love and care given to my wife. The nursing staff, in particular, have been so caring and welcoming to myself on my visits. The nursing remained 24 hours per day during her final few days. I have every reason to recommend this care home as exceptional in every respect.
I was very impressed on how the team supported us to transfer my mum from the hospital to The Lodge at short notice. The staff are very friendly and communicative. They are there, not because it is a job, it's their vocation to provide privacy, dignity and respect to my mum. The food is very good and varied and my mum has certain food prepared especially for her if she requires it. Everyone is professional, kind and understanding. Empathy means everything to me and my family.
Other than our family home we could not have wished for a better location for my dear wife to spend her final ten months. Buildings and gardens were top rate while standards set and achieved by carers was exceptional, no more so than during her final days. Huge thanks to all at Burcot Grange - top team.
Mum came for 2 weeks of respite care. The team were so helpful and supportive. They helped to make Mums stay smooth (from a paperwork point of view). All of the staff were so kind to Mum and took excellent care of her. The Lodge and surroundings are beautiful and feel like a 5-star hotel. The food is excellent so are the trips and activities. I would recommend Burcot Lodge 100%.
Mum was at Burcot Grange for a week's respite. We were delighted with how she was cared for and stimulated. She has returned home happy and very chatty. I would recommend Burcot to anyone in need of respite care.
My mother stayed at Burcot Grange for respite purposes. I visited her there, and I could see that the staff took a genuine interest in her. They made it very clear they did not even want her to leave as they liked her very much. Also, on collecting her, they hugged her and were very warm to her. My mother is 92 and has dementia. Since bringing her home, she is also much more chatty and more engaged. A good experience for her.
Excellent welcome from management and staff, always helpful. I enjoyed my two weeks stay for a second time, for respite care. Every member of staff did their best for me. Reception staff, excellent.
My mum went in for a period of respite care. Instantly the team were warm and welcoming. The Lodge building is beautifully designed and decorated. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum became relaxed and was made to feel at home there. Sadly, old age got the better of her after three and a half weeks and she passed away with dignity. I can only say that if it weren’t for the incredible team at Burcot Grange, her days could have been very different. She was cared for and attended to with warmth, humility and dignity, in life and afterwards. How the team responded to us as a family has been without compare. I doubt we would have gone through this as we have done without the compassion and comfort of people who actually do care. Cannot recommend them all highly enough. There aren’t many places I could feel comfortable leaving my own flesh and blood with - but this is one of them.
The staff were friendly and caring towards my mum. The night staff were so lovely towards my mum and family. Best care home. Your staff are experienced.
Lovely and friendly staff, caring towards residents and visitors. Best care home I have ever been to. Excellent home from home.
My mother has resided at The Lodge at Burcot Grange for almost a year and I cannot fault any aspect of her care. The thing that sets Burcot Lodge apart from its competitors is the fact that in addition to the care staff (who are outstanding), everyone who works at the home understands dementia. From the catering staff to housekeeping, facilities, reception and admin - everybody shows kindness, warmth and patience towards the residents. Even the briefest of interactions can mean so much to a person living with dementia and supports them to maintain a sense of well-being. I find it very reassuring to know that my mother is encouraged to maintain social relationships in addition to having her day-to-day care needs met. I would advise anyone considering Burcot Lodge for their loved one to visit the home and see for themselves what a positive experience dementia care can be.
The home is generally good, however, attention to personal hygiene and presentation could be better. The food always seems okay and meets the needs, staff numbers sometimes seem to be low. For the money paid, expect basic toiletries to be provided and not have to be supplied separately.
In January 2023, my mom arrived at The Lodge at Burcot Grange for respite care after she had spent four weeks in hospital followed by two weeks at home with carers - long term this was not suitable for Mom. I made arrangements to meet the admissions team at The Lodge at Burcot Grange, who were outstanding, so welcoming and so very kind, all the paperwork was explained in detail and arrangements were made for Mom to have a home assessment, nothing was too much trouble. On arrival at The Lodge at Burcot Grange, Mom was made to feel very welcome. The staff had already been advised that Mom was very anxious, the evening staff reassured her that they would check on her during the night - which was a great relief to her, when I saw her the following day she told me it was the best nights sleep she had had for weeks! During Mom's time at The Lodge at Burcot Grange, she was really well cared for, which included visits from the doctor, her pain was under control and she started to eat and smile again.
The staff treated my wife with the utmost care and compassion. Also, the help and understanding they have shown me are without parallel.
