My sister moved into The Orchard Care Home (OCH), just over a year ago, at a very difficult time in her life. My sister was welcomed by all staff members, including ground staff E.g. Handymen and gardeners. She received the best care that she needed, and continues to; in addition it is the best care we could have ever wanted for her as a family. OCH have done all they can to support her, on a personal and emotional level, and by taking her out to different activities. Friends and family have observed since my sister has moved into OCH, she has become more independent and learnt many skills i.e. Interpersonal and craft. My sister is very happy at OCH and in her own words 'would not want to move to anywhere else'. To echo my sister's view - as a family we highly recommend OCH to anyone.
We as a family are very happy with the whole package.
Mum's care has been consistently excellent. All of the staff are both friendly and professional, care provided is always good. Food is of a high standard and various activities are available.
As a family we are extremely happy with the care that my grandmother receives. The care and attention the staff give is outstanding and my grandmother definitely feels as if it is her home. The food is excellent and plentiful, rooms are clean and kept tidily, and there are plenty of activities the residents can do, if they choose to. My grandmother has had many health issues and the home have been fantastic in looking after her. I would highly recommend The Orchard as it is small, modern and homely, and the residents are respected as individuals, and cared for with compassion.
This is our first experience of using a care home for my wife who is 89 with dementia. Overall the environment at the Orchard is very positive and my wife has been very well looked after. The staff are caring and friendly. This has been a difficult period for me and my family and The Orchard have done all they can do to help us through it. Thank you!
Mum has been at The Orchard since February this year. She came from another care home (not within the Milkwood group) as her needs had not been met there. Mum was poorly on arrival but the team have all helped Mum back to health. Mum has thrived since being here, everyone has made her feel comfortable and at home. There are lots of activities to keep her occupied. Staff are lovely and welcoming. A very homely environment.
The Orchard has had my mother as a resident since November 2020 and has looked after her extremely well. The Orchard is very well run and maintained with very efficient and friendly staff and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending The Orchard to anyone needing residential care.
The best thing is when Mum went into The Orchard. She is so much happier since moving in.
The Orchard is an excellent care home providing good long-term care for my mother.
Dad settled in at The Orchard very quickly following a very difficult time in hospital. I cannot praise the team enough for the professional and caring work they have done. Dad is happy and content and feels safe and relaxed. The Orchard is an amazing care home.
When visiting The Orchard's Care Home I always feel that it is my mother's home and that she is cared for as if she is part of a family there. Having seen other care homes as a comparison I'm very grateful that she is a resident at The Orchards. Thank you.
I can't praise the care home highly enough. They have brought her back from the end in hospital several times from end-of-life treatment to keep her going. Staff are very caring and are always very cheerful and welcoming when I, my daughter and my labrador dog go visiting, hoping to get a flicker of recognition even at this latest, final stage of dementia.
My aunt has been at The Orchard since September last year and the care she receives is outstanding. The whole team are caring and compassionate and ensures they get to know their resident's likes/dislikes and go out of their way to make it a home from home. They also provide wonderful support to the families. The surroundings, activities and food are all excellent but what makes it are the staff. I can’t thank them enough.
In the time my mother has been at The Orchard she has had her up and downs health wise and the staff have been absolutely first rate. Latterly she has become more integrated with the other residents and enjoyed more of the activities provided and in particular a display of birds of prey where she had a gauntlet on with a hawk perching (lovely pictures!), additionally a trip to the pub for a meal and a glass of wine was obviously also thoroughly enjoyed by her. The management team are always very approachable and willing to help and advise as I live abroad and can't visit as much as I would like. But the main thing for me is that she is happy.
From the moment my mother arrived at The Orchard, until the time she left, the care, kindness and support given to her and us, her family, was consistently strong and given with compassion and good humour by all members of staff. The vibrant environment and varied activities enriched her days and Mam settled comfortably, making many friends along the way. I would readily recommend The Orchard going forward and thank all those who cared for Mam during her time there.
A lovely home for my mother for the past five years. The staff are all lovely and welcoming, facilities and activities are great. It really is a home from home for my mother with home cooking and fresh baking daily.
Mum’s care continues to be outstanding. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. It’s a pleasure to visit and see everyone so happy. There are lots of activities that keep the residents stimulated and active.
I cannot thank the genuine kindness and compassion from all staff when my beautiful Nan was a resident. They went above and beyond for both Nan and our family and we will be eternally grateful to them all x
I would have no hesitation in recommending The Orchard Care Home and should I need to go into a care home myself, I would choose to be here. Having seen various care homes, there is no comparison. The Orchard excels in all areas. The lovely, airy, sunny building in a stunning setting, rooms are spacious with pristine en-suite facilities and the extremely caring staff who cared for my mother-in-law and also for us as her relatives became like family in a short time. My mother-in-law was treated with dignity and as an individual, as were the other residents, of which there are only approximately fifteen. The food is excellent, freshly cooked and plentiful. Activities are provided almost every day and these are interesting, stimulating activities ranging from music and arts and crafts to visits by birds of prey! Not just your standard bingo and such. Visitors' pets are welcomed and give the residents much joy. I am just so glad we chose The Orchard for my mother-in-law, enabling her to have first-class care during the last few months of her life and for us to know that she was safe and comfortable. Thank you all.
Such a wonderful welcoming care home. My mother spent a short time at The Orchard. The staff were so caring and pleasant. Helping to make her life wonderful. It's a place I would definitely go to if needed. Plenty of different activities from going out in the minibus for trips to visits from birds of prey, singing and much more. The food is excellent and all freshly cooked. Everything about The Orchard is brilliant, even down to looking after relatives of residents. Really can't fault them.
