View Full Details of Upton Manor Care HomeAll staff very caring, very kind and helpful. Room is very warm and clean, most meals are appetising and varied. Decided in this 4 week respite period to now make this my permanent residence.
A safe comfortable environment for Mum following a stroke and dementia, caring team who look after her well with dignity. She is happy and stimulated with activities. The home is well kept and a happy environment. Nothing is too much trouble and the catering is hotel standard! It is great that they are dog-friendly as she can still see her dog on visits.
Mum came to you after a fall and a short spell in hospital, originally for respite. She was made to feel very welcome and safe with the level of care in place. Your staff are very friendly and give the care home a 'family feel'. It has been a great comfort to Mum that her dog (along with ours) can visit too. Mum is now a happy redient with you.
Mum started living in the care home in May and since then we have not had a moment's worry. The staff are really friendly, helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. They have numerous activities and encourage all residents to join in with encouragement and support. My mum is just so very happy. Thank you, Upton Manor.
Excellent facilities, safe, staff excellent and good activities.
This is a beautiful clean luxury care home with caring staff, it offers a homely feeling for residents and even has a therapy dog. It has well kept gardens and also has a great choice of quality food.
My health and abilities to cope deteriorated following my wife's passing away on 15 January this year, whilst a dementure patient in Upton Manor. I suffered a series of falls, accompanied by giddy spells and ended up in hospital for almost 2 months. My GP suggested respite care and as I was familiar with Upton Manor I opted to go there for a month which became almost 2 months. The stay was a godsend, meeting up with a number of residents, patients and particularly carers whom I had met previously whilst my wife was resident for 15 months from October 2023 until she sadly died, having received such wonderful care and attention during her time there. I enjoyed every minute of the near 2 months, lovely en-suite room, good food and a glass of wine, paper delivered with nothing being too much trouble. I went home in June, with carers coming twice a day, 7.00 am and 5.30 pm and I am currently extremely happy, due in my opinion to the respite care period that helped prepare me for the big outside world!
Lovely staff throughout, go the extra mile always. Mum is very happy and well cared for.
I always find the staff at Upton Manor Care Home really sweet, kind and very helpful. I am assured Mum is in the best possible hands and well looked after. One lady, in particular, is very good at distracting Mum from me when I want to leave, I just give her the nod.
Mum has been a resident for just over a year. The home is a wonderful, friendly place with plenty of activities laid on for the residents to enjoy. The rooms are spacious and light with lovely views over well-kept gardens. Vsutung days are very welcome, which is great as Mum can still have her god visit her. There are fantastic entertainers who regularly visit to play music, magicians, balloon creations, and a variety of animals that the president can handle and stoke. It's like one big family, and we are so pleased we found this care home for our mum.
Friendly greeting by the reception team. Every carer is very friendly, nothing is ever too much to ask. My relation is very well cared for.
After my relative had lived in this care home for almost 10 months, the experience was mostly disappointing. The home itself has nice pleasant facilities but lacks a homely feel. Communication between departments in the home was lacking, the manager was very unhelpful to the point of being unapproachable and rude. Although some of the care team showed a high level of care and compassion this did not reach the whole team and was noticeable during visits. Minimal activity interactions for those who are nursed in bed. A warm welcome from the care team was not received on many occasions. However, always found the reception team to be welcoming, and friendly. This did not feel like a home from home when visiting my loved one, and is not somewhere I would recommend to others to place a loved one.
Mum has been welcomed by all the staff at Upton Manor and the care provided is excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending Upton Manor. The staff have a family-centred approach to care, allowing Mum to settle in well, which is a relief and wonderful to see.
It was a very tough decision to place Mum into care. The decision was not made lightly. It's been good to see Mum settle in and see the efforts being made by the team to get to know her personally. It's good to see Mum enjoying the activities, being given little jobs to enjoy in the garden and to make friends. My mum is/was sociable and friendly, always kept a clean and tidy home, and kept herself busy, and she loved to entertain. She's very happy.
My sister and I chose this care home to match my mother's demanding needs 3 months ago. The care and dedication from all members of staff from cleaners to management have been amazing and exceeded expectations. Our mother sadly passed 14/11/23 and the care given in the last week of palliative care was absolutely outstanding. We can not thank you all enough for making our mother's last few months so comfortable and pleasurable (especially with her buzzer!).
Mum is so relaxed in this home and enjoys the entertainment and the lovely meals.
My parents stayed at Upton Manor Care Home for respite care. The staff were caring, empathetic and willing to go the extra mile to make my parents feel welcome and supported. The family was always welcomed there. The food was excellent and I was very impressed with how clean the care home was. My parents had a couple of medical issues that were dealt with promptly and professionally. Overall I have nothing but praise for Upton Manor.
Although I am not a patient, I have visited often enough to be fully aware of how carefully and politely everybody is treated and I have an excellent opinion of the welfare generated in excellent surroundings.
Exceptional staff, very caring. The care home is a bright and happy environment.
The staff are friendly and caring. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for them. Everything is clean and the food is plentiful and of a reasonable standard. Visitors are also welcomed and are well treated.
