View Full Details of Wymeswold ManorWe waited several years for Wymeswold Manor to open and we were not disappointed. My dad was one of the first residents and, at the age of 93yrs, settled in really well. The staff were kind, attentive and many would laugh at his stories, even though they heard them on a daily basis! The food was a real positive resulting in the need for larger sizes! Dad was one of the first residents to receive full end-of-life care and they certainly exceeded our expectations. End of life in the community meant he was surrounded by his children in a quiet and undisturbed way. Doctors, district nurses and drugs were administered where necessary. More importantly the care and dignity shown, and the fact that the staff just came in, held his hand, shed a few tears and spoke fondly to him, will be one of our positive lasting memories. We would therefore like to thank the manager and her team for everything and would wholly recommend them for anyone seeking care in the community.
The experience my dad has had has been very pleasing. He is a proud man and asking for help isn't his strong point. Being under their care has encouraged him to ask for help when needed, and inform staff when he isn't feeling that good. There have been a couple of instances when the doctor has had to be called, and there has been no hesitation in getting him the care he needs.
It's early days as she has only been in for 5 weeks, however, can't thank the manager and all the staff enough. My mother was so worried when she came for respite. You have made her feel like part of the family. She loves you all. I can't comment on activities as it's a new home and I'm not sure what set up for the residence as of yet. You have helped reassure her when things get difficult and support her when needed. Thank you again.
Mum has been at Wymeswold Manor for just over a week now and I have to say she has been treated and looked after really well. The manager is wonderful, she is so on the ball in getting things sorted out and put into place for Mum's best interest. The manager and all the staff are so caring, very friendly, professional and very approachable about any issues or concerns we might have for Mum. Mum does love her food, the dishes are really nice and well presented, a great variety, and the cook really does take pride in the meals she produces. The home is always so very clean, fresh and comfortable at all times, a real pleasure for my sister and me to visit and comforting for all the residents there who I have to say all seem very happy and settled at Wymeswold Manor. Mum's clothes come back from the laundry as if we had done them ourselves, wonderful. It is early days for Mum at Wymeswold Manor but I'm certain she will settle nicely, be well looked after and be happy in her new home.
