We are delighted with the care my mother receives at York Manor Care Home. The staff are compassionate, professional and genuine in the care they provide. The facilities are bright, clean and the decor is equivalent to a high end hotel. York Manor has given us peace of mind, knowing mum is being cared for in a such a lovely place with caring staff, activities to keep her occupied and three good meals a day. We have already recommended York Manor to several friends, which is a testament to our endorsement.
My in-laws have been residents in York Manor for over two months now and I can honestly say that I feel so happy that we found this place for them. We were very reluctant to put them in a home because we knew they were very keen to stay at home but it became impossible to do so. I love the whole environment which is spacious and beautifully decorated. It really has the feeling of a 5 star hotel. We have found the staff to be very caring and attentive. The food is fabulous. The activities are amazing. It has given my husband and I huge peace of mind to know that they are being so well looked after. We really couldn't have asked for anything better.
Not only myself, but also my family are happy with our choice of care home. When you reach the stage where your only choice is to place your spouse in a care home, it's a difficult transition for both, albeit for different reasons. It's a comfort to know that my wife is so well cared for by considerate, caring and professional staff, who deal respectfully with issues arising from living with dementia. Things we like include: the decor, frequent and varied activities, the ability to cater for a vegetarian diet, and staff knowing everyone's names, including visitors. York Manor has a positive, friendly and welcoming vibe.
My father has now spent about one month at York Manor. Right from the initial very professional show round, seeing the accommodation and the facilities, we realised that this would be an ideal place for him to stay. His admittance to the home went really well on the day and all staff could not have been more helpful and understanding. This was a good choice for my father as he has settled in really well, considering he has lived in the same house in York for nearly 60 years. Medically he has been made more comfortable by the assistants at the home and his room is exactly what he needed. Comfortable room with a convenient en-suite. Care always to hand with the staff regularly popping in to check all is ok. He does not eat like he used to, but the food he says is good. In addition, the important recognition of all staff on this change for the family at this difficult time has been exceptional. Particularly with regards to my mum who was very reluctant in having someone care at this time. Thank you.
I have been impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff at York Manor since we visited with a view to moving my dad into the home. His assessment and transfer from another York home were handled very efficiently, and my dad was welcomed into his lovely room with a 'welcome to your new home' card and gift. Since Dad has been resident, the staff have all made an enormous effort to meet his, and our requests and needs at all times. Nothing is too much trouble - well done to the whole team!
Security is good. People not allowed to just walk in. Reception staff can see you and only then do they let you in. Also, you have to sign in and say who you have come to see. And you have to wash your hands! Staff also so good, lots of patience with residents. The rooms are all en-suite. It's like a five-star hotel, residents' lounges are fabulous, wide walkways for wheelchairs. Food looks lovely.
What a wonderful place. So friendly and always look after visitors. Residents are so looked after. Nothing too much trouble.
My mum entered York Manor Care Home and we are so pleased she did, the staff and all facilities are top class. She has improved in health and peace of mind has been achieved. They take her out to places she mentions, and take every opportunity to make her happy and content. Also the ambience and food are also excellent.
Since my mum-in-law entered York Manor, she has blossomed. The patience and love the staff has shown her is fabulous. We have agonised over whether to keep Mum at home but honestly we couldn't keep it up and York Manor have made the transition so much easier! So thank you one and all!
This care home is a warm and welcoming home. The staff are friendly and cannot enough for you. The standard is very high and you can see that every member of staff is always willing to help no matter what the reaction of the residents is, whether they appreciate it or not, due to their condition of health and mind.
I have visited the home on 3 occasions throughout the month and have found the staff to be very approachable, caring and considerate to clients and visitors. Lovely atmosphere and ambience, relaxing and comfortable facilities with more specialised areas for peace and reflection. Felt very happy thinking our friend was in a safe and caring environment with staff taking extra measures so needs are met.
